RPG Thread XX has over 100 hours of gameplay

First playthrough is Easy. Companions only in this party. A party that doesn't stop, you all, because it's Easy. No teamwipes, no real issues other than getting engagements set exactly the way I like. It's boring but it's fine, I want to read and I want to learn the mechanics as best as I can...

RPG Thread XX has over 100 hours of gameplay

I don't mind the backer NPCs. By now I can ID them on site, so I don't get pulled into woozy purple screens. I'm like you in that I naturally tend to some kind of caster for a PC. So wizard or priest. I was entirely uniformed about Pillars, so I went wizard. First hour in I'm running with...

RPG Thread XX has over 100 hours of gameplay

I'm finally playing Pillars. Got the complete edition on sale. It's good so far, although I'm getting blurry text no matter how I configure resolution, refresh rate, you name it. So I'll be enjoying Pillars 2 sometime in 2022? I might cave a few years earlier... Ship maintenance is what I'm all...

More publishers claim Green Man Gaming is selling its games unauthorised

They followed up on this on their facebook. I've only used them in a few instances, so it's not a huge loss to avoid them. It's easy enough to get good deals anymore, between CAG and /r/gamedeals. Especially if you don't buy at launch.

GGT 354 Is on a Different Timeline Where the Cubs Lose...?

PC, if it's a recent build. Aside from hardware, why the hell wouldn't you go PC if you could? Especially for a Bethesda title? By the time my next build rolls around, I'll be able to pick up F4 on the cheap and mod the shit out of it. I'm especially looking forward to expanding the radio with...

    GGT 353 Happy Home Destroyer

Yeah, I'm not an artist so I can't comment technically. They just don't -- and didn't, even in their day -- look good. I think it's probably a fair assessment. We'll see...if someone from the Bandicoot Defense League pops up, maybe I'll get told on their bold design choices and interesting use...

    GGT 353 Happy Home Destroyer

Sloppy? Is that a better word than gross? In my defense, I think "gross" fits the dude with the engine in his head. Point is, their character art is generally shit. Call it what you will. Shit, sloppy, gross, lazy.

Still, CTR was a good karter.

    Fallout 4 Megathread (PC)

If I could get that deep of a discount at launch, I'd bite. Even with that discount, I'd be worried my machine won't run this game well. So between full price, GPU tinkering, and the inevitable shitload of launch bugs/glitches, I'll sit it out.

    Sega Dreamcast

I've been playing a lot of Sonic Transformed on the 360 recently, and the most enjoyment I get out of it is DC-era nostalgia. The shortcomings of ST and the boost of DC memories have me wishing I could build a karter of my own in the Power Stone universe. Power Stone 2 was probably in the top 3...

    GGT 353 Happy Home Destroyer

Yeah, CTR is a good karter. Good mechanics, a little slide-y feeling, but the drift n' boost system was solid. I even thought the PS2 follow-up was decent. One minor criticism of CTR, and especially the sequel, is that some of the tracks could be hard to navigate. That's not much of a...

    GGT 353 Happy Home Destroyer

Hi GGT. Old man ranting. Fuck Diddy Kong Racing for introducing non-karts to karting games. It poisoned the well. Just about every title since then has forced air/water tracks or sections on the player with imprecise control. I recently played Sonic Transformed and an otherwise decent karting...

See you in 2017 when you're cheap and I have a box that can run you sliders up, Fallout 4! I'm excited!!!

RPG Thread XIX is getting a rhythm game spinoff

There's a sequel? I won't be playing it for a long, long time. I paid something like $13 for SoT and felt really ripped off. I should've just watched all the game's cutscenes spliced together in youtube. The only reason I kept playing was to watch cutscenes and spam the spell that made Butters...

RPG Thread XIX is getting a rhythm game spinoff

Yeah, in-battle, temporary stat loss I've seen. Permanence is another deal entirely. I pushed through and played Sunless Seas some more (passed along my goods through a few scions), but I wound up running into a bug in completing a game-ending objective. The game just hangs when I try to finish...

    Sega Dreamcast

Grandia II was better than Skies. Skies is way, way overrated. Never played EGG, looks like an RPG/pinball hybrid?

RPG Thread XIX is getting a rhythm game spinoff

Has anyone played through Sunless Sea? I played through a hell of a lot of it, but I just wound up quitting it last night due to a weird encounter. I didn't have the problems most people have with it. The ship speed is a touch slow, but I can see why the dev made that choice ("atmosphere" and...

Steam+ Deals Mega Thread (All PC Gaming Deals)

What's bad about that statement is that the context is wrong. In a very general sense, especially from Gaben's viewpoint, that's a true statement in Steam. But it's not true in the modding community. Or rather, it wasn't until Valve/Bethesda fucked it all up. That last bit is what I hate most...

    Any interest in Cities Skylines?

It stayed at $22 at GMG post-launch. So I wound up buying it. Never hurts to wait, even though it was clear just before launch that a SC2013-level meltdown wasn't going to occur. (And it was all the more satisfying as a purchase due to my staying out of the SC2013 cess pool.) I enjoy it. I feel...
