I can understand Sony's rationale behind a release of this firmware, but not the way in which they're doing it. They are throwing the baby out with the bathwater. I bought a fat ps3 because it had the OtherOS feature and that inherent flexibility (and I like the aesthetics of the fat models...

They have a buy one get 40% off on all PS3 games through tomorrow. From your list, they have GOW III, Heavy Rain and GOW Collection. You could get GOW III for $60 and then Heavy Rain for $36 bucks. Not a great deal, but a good one. link to details...

Those games sound good to me too with the B2G1...unfortunately Battlefield Bad Company isn't available used for the PS3 online....I'm starting to remember why I won't shop at gamestop lol.

Well, it seems like having my newly bought used 40gb PS3 shipped to my home instead of college was a good move...I have to wait until March 5th to play anyway lol.
