I went to the Circuit City around here, yesterday, at Blu-ray discs were still merely 25% off. Compare that to 30% off for regular DVDs. For the most part, the prices suck. Horribly.

They're still pretty darn good on box sets, though. That's about all I ever buy from them, nowadays.

I bought a $200 Sony set at Circuit City couple of years ago, for $180 after coupon. It only has one digital coaxial and one optical audio input (and several analog inputs), so I've had to buy a couple of switches to get around that... For a small room it's plenty, and has decent power and...

Dead Alive/Braindead, definitely. It's got it all: Humor, romance, gore, blatant misuse of a lawnmower... I picked up Black Sheep the other day, for cheap. I hope it's as good as its reputation.

I'm not using it often enough to qualify for the big rewards, but what time I have put in has paid off. With my Borders Reward Bucks, I was able to pick up The Dark Knight on Blu-ray for just under $11.00. Got another $15 in Borders credit coming next month, too.

Well, finished fifth yesterday, and would be in first (for now) today if not for that darn Heisman trophy, again.

I've got a Philips portable DVD player that I picked up from Radio Shack this summer. So far, I love it: It's got decent image quality, good battery life, an iPod dock, a memory card reader, and can easily be hacked to play discs from every region on Earth.

Philips is a fine bargain. I've got two myself -- the DVP 642 and the DVP 5990 -- and am quite satisfied. They play just about anything I throw at them, and from any region, too. The DVP 5990 even adds USB support, so if you have any DivX (or somesuch) files, you don't have to burn them to a CD...

Of course, I took a closer look at Queen later on, and noticed that while they did ship me an HD-DVD in an HD-DVD case, the cover insert was for the Blu-ray version. Minor issue, though, as the content is the same.

Mine arrived the other day. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is a little smudged, but nothing a good, clean, soft cloth won't fix. Queen Rock Montreal looks like it's never been rented.

The folks at my Best Buy suggested I could secure the sale price with a raincheck, but then they checked the computer at my behest and located six of the Deadwood box sets that the store associate swore was sold out, so I didn't actually get that far with the raincheck.

Dang it, I've qualified for Reward Zone Silver, but all of the points haven't gone through yet, so it still says I'm a bit short. I hope they go through in time for me to pick up The Who.

I saw it at Big Lots for $3 a couple of weeks after it was released, but by the time I went back for it, it was gone...

I still love my HD-DVDs. They've still got awesome sound and picture quality, and there are few Blu-ray releases currently available that I'm interested in that I don't already have on HD-DVD. That said, I do worry about being able to play them in the future, but I do have a couple of backups...

I, too, wish they had Mr. Show on sale. Some not very nice fellow on eBay absconded with my dough for season four, and Paypal didn't get it back for me... Nevertheless, I had some RewardZone certificates burning a hole in my pocket, so I sprang for Deadwood (the complete series). It had better...

I'd consider it just for Spirit of Radio... But that will inevitably be RB2 DLC.
