The FMA: Brotherhood Collections are not BD/DVD combo packs, just BD's. Even if they released a complete collection, it's unlikely that it'll be less than $50 for it

Nope, there won't be any Blu-ray release, and no sign of any sort of complete collection set.

Amazon has Avatar: TLA Books 1-3  on DVD for just $12.99 each. This is the lowest I've seen them go personally. It's one of the best animated series ever so it's well worth the $39 for the entire collection.  Book One Book Two Book Three

That's for the release of the "Ocean dub" episodes. It has the first 67 episodes which are cut and re-edited into 53 episodes, and first 3 movies, and comes with a 48-page movie

I don't get the appeal at all from trophy whoring. The whole huge sense of accomplishment thing just makes it sound like you're a failure in the real world, and you're compensating by collecting virtual trophies. Not saying you are, just saying that's how I view you, and others like you

Yes, you can play it as long as you're a member. I believe it'll even be on your download list still too even if it's removed from the store.

I updated earlier tonight, and everything seems to be okay. Hopefully Sony can fix this for those affected though.
