I'm giving PS+ a 3 month trial run right now and like it so far. Question: If i download a free game from the service, and it is removed from the store for any reason, will i still be able to play it while I have the download?

Long as it's tired to your account it should remain available for you to download even if it wasn't available for sale any longer.

Yes, you can play it as long as you're a member. I believe it'll even be on your download list still too even if it's removed from the store.

Just realized the leaked EU PS+ list from a few weeks ago was exactly right for July.
Wow, they got ICO/SotC? I would love that. And they're getting DMC in August too. The US is getting some great stuff too, but I can't help be a little jealous anyway
EU's IGC is better, customer communication and announcements are better and now even their leaked info is better than NA+.

Where's our two month leak of future IGC games?

Thank god the service is at least great, just finished Sleeping Dogs which was awesome.

Unit 13 was free on that Hong Kong Plus 2-week trial promotion. So if you guys were able to get in on that, it's still there. I have it on my download list just in case I decide to buy a Vita soon.

I want Unit 13. Not enough to buy it outright but for plus itd be awesome. Great demo, like shooters on the vita.
I want Unit 13 and I already finished it and sold it off. It's a great great game and very underated. There isn't much in story and it's more mission based but the mechanics are pretty solid and the game is just fun. It's got a few minor issues but overall I loved it. I'd take it for free on PLUS in a heartbeat.

Maybe I could link up with someone to unlock those last few High Value Target levels. That was the only thing I didn't like about the game. All of the Solo missions have star counts and you needed a certain amount to unlock the high value targets, I think the last one you needed to 5 star every level. I finished all of the Solo Missions but probably the first game I wouldn't mind 100%ing in a long time.

What's great about Battlefield 3, and this separates it from other shooting games, is that it is very friendly to those who are starting out. You are only playing solo if you choose to. Otherwise, join a squad as soon as you start the game (during the loading screen). When you first start out, you won't have some of the best guns out there, but you do have access to at least 1 of them from either faction with a little bit of work. In Battlefield 3, you actually earn more points doing other things than shooting people (which you can do, too, of course). I'm merely pointing out that when you start out, concentrate on performing more of a supporting role where you heal people, drop ammo crates (which can earn you tons of points by getting you medals after medals if you drop them at chock points everywhere) and doing other things, e.g., repairing vehicals, reviving, dropping ammos and health packs, fixing things. There are a lot you can do starting out, and I bet you'll get more points than others in your squad and team.

Battlefield 3 is one of my favorite shooters of all time. It's squad based where each of your squadmates serves are a respawing point, and everyone has a different role and specialty within the squad, and can be changed at anytime. I have a feeling that those who claim the game is bad either didn't play the game or just didn't give it enough time to earn a few weapons (with a few hours of gameplay).
It's a great game but not very beginner friendly, especially solo, for new players when most of the people playing are in the hundreds of hours played. I think it's a great game and more than gotten my money out of it and Premium.

Oh my, praise the Sony lord above! I really hope it gives the option to toggle those notifications. I understand that some of you like them, but it completely breaks the immersion for me. Anyone who's played The Last of Us will know exactly what I'm talking about.
Serious question: what trophies did you pop in your first playthrough that ruined your immersion? The only one I imagine would come naturally is the one for crafting all items.
I would assume the 144 collectibles but their pop rate is spotty and a guide is needed anyway to have a good shot at them all 1st time through. It was a weird list of trophies in my opinion because even as great as the game is multiple playthroughs can be taxing (24% through 2nd) and some are just random be here at this moment type stuff.
Sorry, I worded that improperly. What I meant is that the game immersion benefits from the lack of notifications. Only one that ever popped up was, as you mentioned, for the crafted-items. I prefer this approach, as it encourages you to play the game freely (the way you deem best), instead of tailoring your experience based on a list of trophies. And, if you're interested in them, you can take care of them after completion. TLoU doesn't erase your stats on new game+, so that's a good compromise. Anyway, with the option to toggle off popups, guess it doesn't matter as much now.

ALSO -- I tried the cross-controller pack for LBP2. Awesome, awesome, awesome. If you have a vita and LBP2, it's very much worth it. Hope to see more clever vita integration like this in future titles (...c'mon, rayman legends).

Can anyone recommend Flow?

Just realized the leaked EU PS+ list from a few weeks ago was exactly right for July.

Also, Jak and Daxter Vita Collection is cross-buy in some regions, just not US I guess. :whistle2:(

We should get someone who can read Russian to glean more info from that blog which is supposedly official.
As I posted way back when, it translates roughly to "Which character would you most like to play as". Fun fact: the Google Translate app can translate pictures now ;)

^The exponential rate at which Google is taking over the world is scary haha. Next thing you know Google will be able to read your mind and find your best search result for you.

Kind of want to get The Missing Link addon for Deus Ex but even with it on sale it still costs more than I paid for the game. -.-

Then there's the fact that the Director's Cut is coming out not to far from now and I'm pretty sure missing link is included in that.

Awesome, I totally agree with everything you just wrote. It was refreshing not to have trophies/achievements pop just for natural story progress. I wish more games did this.

And Tyler - you won't spoil anything by reading the trophy list. Fantastic game - play it before somebody *does* have a chance to spoil something for you, though ;)

Can anyone recommend Flow?
That's hard to answer for me. I mean, it's $1.40 for PS+, and I would pay $1.40 for pretty much anything.

That being said, I think Flow sucks. It's hard to even call it a game, felt like more of a glorified tech demo to me.
The whole movement of people obsessed with figuring out if a "game" has enough mechanics to be qualified to become a real game is one of my biggest pet peeves of this generation, no offense.

flOw is all about going through each level, defeating enemies, and eating their gubbins to grow stronger so that you can keep progressing through each level until you reach the boss. The only things it lacks to make that obvious are title cards for each stage and a HUD with score, health bar, and such. I find it a fun, relaxing experience to play through on occasion since one playthrough isn't that long at about 20-30 minutes.

And then they're sharing all of it with the NSA.
Not the NSA! Bad news.

Can anyone recommend Flow?
I agree with Tyler. I hated it. Very boring. It is only $1.40 though so not much to lose if you buy it and end up not liking it.

No offense taken. That is a very good description of the game. It just didn't click at all for me.

I agree wholeheartedly with this. Of course it's a game. It even has trophies. Shiny, worthless trophies!

Also something to keep in mind is flOw controls with the sixaxis tilt function of the controller, that is reason enough for me not to consider picking it up because I spent so much time fighting with the tilt controls of Flower.

I really shoukd seek therapy to rid myself of trophy/achievement "hunting". It has definitely ruined some games a little for me. At the very least I need to let collectible achievements go. I wish developers would just give in game bonuses for those type of activities. I do not play SP games through twice that often so I usually go for collectibles right away and it can ruin the flow of the game.

Man my HP touchpad web os browser does not like CAG 3.0. I can barely see what I am typing.

:censored: wish I'd know this before I bought it. I love thatgamecompany, and indie "games" in general, but I hate sixaxis controls almost as much. Oh well, at least it was cheap.

I really don't understand the appeal of collectibles. I'm playing Sniper Elite V2 right now and there are two different types of collectibles. I generally only use a guide when there's no way of tracking your progress on collectibles or if they're tiny and the levels are pretty huge so I'm using a guide for these, and I hate "having" to.

I wish I didn't care about trophies either because I would have way less of a backlog but I get a huge sense of accomplishment whenever I get those platinums.

I don't get the appeal at all from trophy whoring. The whole huge sense of accomplishment thing just makes it sound like you're a failure in the real world, and you're compensating by collecting virtual trophies. Not saying you are, just saying that's how I view you, and others like you

Yes, because getting a sense of accomplishment from one thing means you don't get it from anything else.

 Soooo, in closing...

Is the Walking Dead DLC worth it? How many hours of playtime? Decent follow up to the story?
If you're talking about the Telltale game with the 5 chapters, ABSOLUTELY. Playing through it right now, I love it.

Anyone else having trouble downloading Germinator and/or Pinball Arcade? Every time I try "purchasing" them, it tells me "You are not eligible to purchase or download this content".

Also something to keep in mind is flOw controls with the sixaxis tilt function of the controller, that is reason enough for me not to consider picking it up because I spent so much time fighting with the tilt controls of Flower.
The PSP version doesn't have motion controls if you want that. It looks like that version is still on sale for $5.59, which is what it was when it last went on sale that nobody has changed since then.

The DLC for the PS3 version of flOw is $2.09 for those that want it.

Also something to keep in mind is flOw controls with the sixaxis tilt function of the controller, that is reason enough for me not to consider picking it up because I spent so much time fighting with the tilt controls of Flower.

If I'm not mistaking, there is also a really specific way of installing the DLC in order to have it actually work. Looks this up before buying and installing anything. I remember I had to delete everything and re-install everything in a certain order for the DLC to work.

Not a huge deal, but it will save you some time.

Anyone else having trouble downloading Germinator and/or Pinball Arcade? Every time I try "purchasing" them, it tells me "You are not eligible to purchase or download this content".
I am confused about this too. Is it because those games are cross-buy and you already own the PS3 version?

that has been the case with me in the past. I remember seeing a similar message whilst grabbing Foosball 2012. It appears to be a weird glitch that happens when you buy the vita version before the PS3 version on crossbuy games. I would check your download list, it is most likely already there.

It's not a glitch. It's just the way they handle Cross Buy games since you cannot buy both versions at once. You buy one and the other's added to your download list with it. I don't know why Germinator would give that error when it's not Cross Buy.

Ok, you were correct. Weird little glitch. Thanks!

So my PS3 was fine, didn't even download 4.45. Whew.

Been playing Tekken Revolution, and it's so gimped on content I'm not sure what the point of releasing it was, but I guess if they get anyone to buy their premium tickets to play, that's good enough. I really hate the idea of adding new mechanics and not giving you a practice mode to play around with them in though... They removed bound attacks and added these new speed attacks that I need to learn more about.

Also, I never figured out why I lost flOw... it was free ages ago and I downloaded it, but then it vanished from my download list. I'm tempted to rebuy it because it's one of those low% on my trophy list, but I'll have to think about it. I remember being fairly bored with it.

Edit: Now I get it. Tekken Revolution is Facebook games meets PSN. Retarded.

So can anyone give me a good reason not to get LBP Vita for $18? $12 cheaper than the lowest I've found it historically. Know it could pop up on PS+, but everyone seems to feel like that won't happen until the long term games reset and that's what, November?

For those of you who have a VITA and may be interested.

Luminees is only $11 and fulfilled by amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/Lumines-Electronic-Symphony-playstation-vita/dp/B006VB2W08/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1371679727&sr=8-1&keywords=luminees

EDIT: I ordered one and wasnt charged tax. Thats a first. I usually get taxed by Amazon.
Maybe it has something to do with being sold by a third party and fulfilled by Amazon?

Well Amazon Warehouse Deals has it for $25.76 right now, in like new condition.

I can list the reasons I'm not getting it for $18, maybe you can resonate with some of them:

1) I never spend $18 on digital titles. I like to resell a lot of my games, and digital guarantees that I can't make any money back on them.

2) I play LBP for the platforming, not the level creation. Looking at LBP as strictly a platformer, it doesn't have a ton of replay value.

3) I still have LBP2 and LBP Karting (I know, different genre) in my backlog, plus I'm going to add some DLC for LBP2 this week, so I have something to feed my LBP fix until November if necessary.

4) As you mentioned, it does seem like LBP is a prime candidate for the IGC in November.

Yeah, I've been looking at that and the resale value does offset the price difference... if the online pass happens to work. Otherwise that's another $10 an goes beyond killing it since the long term value is in playing the things that everyone else makes. There's also 5 of them available so no idea what that indicates.
