    The "80GB PS3 Won't Play This PS2 Game" Thread

All of the Ratchet and Clank games run at between 15-30 FPS on an 80 GB PS3. Frankly, this is unacceptable to me as I'm a huge fan of the series and it is known for its fast, smooth framerates in all the games. Believe me, I hate to tell you this but emulation in the RC games were a bg...

    FC Twin In-Compatible Game Hunt

I own an FC Twin and I can attest to the relative crappiness of the controllers. The device comes with two, but one of the controllers in my bundle had a malfunctioning D-pad, with "down" presses registering as "down and to the left." VERY irritating to say the least. Button presses have more...

Odin Sphere - Geeze The Animation is Amazing!

Gamespot review is up -- 7.6. The write-up is generally positive, though the slow-down really seems to be quite an issue. The author described the frame rate during one boss fight as approaching "dead-stop" which sounds awful. http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/rpg/odinsphere/review.html Other...

What's the last ancient game you popped in and were impressed by?

    - - - Just to put you at ease a bit -- Fade to Black was a third person action/shooter and its gameplay was really nothing like the thoughtful, deliberate paces of the original game. I found it highly disappointing.

    HDTV-Friendly PS2 games

Hi there- Sorry if there is already a thread on this - I missed it through the search if there is. I was wondering if we might be able to compile a list of PS2 games that support progressive scan (480p) and widescreen display modes. Despite the fact that I have a recent HDTV with a shiny 360...

XBOX 360 limited / Special edition games

In my opinion, the CE editons of Gears and Oblivion are worth it, given the much more attractive packaging, interesting behind the scenes DVDs (especially in the case of Oblivion) and fun little collectibles (art book is actually pretty cool with Gears and with Oblivion you get a "septim" -...

IGN's Top 25 PS2 Games of All Time

Indeed, Street 2 was great, and arguably the PS2 version was better due to its extra pair of modifiers in the shoulder buttons. I tend to see these lists as reasons to own X console over Y, I suppose.

IGN's Top 25 PS2 Games of All Time

I would say a pretty good list - surprising coming from the guys at IGN. A few (un-solicited) thoughts: In my opinion, they got it right for their DMC pick - while the original was a classic, Dante's Awakening blows it out of the water in every respect and renders it completely obsolete. I pity...
