I couldn't believe they even had one in stock, but if you can find it @ a CC B&M it's definitely a steal at that price especially since it's brand new :)
The guy who rang it up was in total shock. He rang it up like 3 times and just shook his head at the screen before finally bagging it up for me :)

shouldnt this be under bragging rights and not Deals since this is a one in a milllion find. I been looking for this game around 20 and cant find it anyplace

GOOD FIND

Wasn't there some things like this at Sears one time, something like if they don't have an item in their computer (like it they no longer stock the game) and you ring one up it'll com up as like a dollar? I remember people getting steap deals on the PSOne monitor over this, maybe it's a similar deal.

So is this going to be one of those games that skyrockets to $100+ on eBay? It's one of the top 20 or so games I wanted to purchase after getting a PS2, but I won't pay more than $30-40 for it.

I'll check my CC tomorrow, and I'll buy it at this price (even though I don't have a PS2 yet) if it's in stock, but I'm doubting that it will be.

It looks like it was $0.01 before they changed it to $1.99. Do you guys think there are more games $1.99? Chessmaster first, La Pucelle ...... :whistle2:#

Check your gamestop. They should have it for $14.99 or $17.99 used. But oh dang, $1.99 is a steal.

I got mine @ Tru for $7.98. I kinda regret it because TRU had like 6+ in stock and I only took one.

i doubt it because Disgaea and PB seem to be the more desireable in the series

That's what I was thinking as well. I hope it's a new clearance sale and not just on 2 games. Circuit City really needs price checker machines in the store. I would go there now and start scanning all older games if they had something like that.

I got it at Gamestop for $19.99 new. You also might be able to find it at Fry's for the same price. I actually bought one at Fry's but when I got home I realized it had been re-wrapped (with one of those melted-type wraps). I couldn't tell this in the store because it was in a plastic security box (plus I wouldn't have expected that). Luckily I found the one at GS (with normal, factory-sealed, folded, wrapping) and could return the Fry's copy. I don't know what was up with that. I wanted to open it just to see if something strange was going on.

I'm going to CC today to get R&C Going Commando (and return the one I bought at TRU for $15 a few weeks ago!). I'll definitely be looking for La Pucelle and Chessmaster. I also know they had a copy of Powerdrome but it was labelled $14.96 - hopefully that will ring up $4.96 as others have found.

Got from AT: reportably all Psone games were 50% off, and
many ringing up for between $.01 and $1.99-
some listed here probably many more:

Blaster Master: Blasting Again
Colony Wars III: Red Sun
DAve Mirra Freestyle BMX
Disneys Treasure planet
Dukes of hazzard 2
GTA2
MLB 2004
SENTINEL: Returns
Spec Ops Stealth patrol
Street sk8er2
TENCHU: Stealth Assassins (Greatest Hits)
Tom Raider Last Revelation
Tomb Raider II (Greatest Hits)
Tony Hawk Pro skater 3
Warriors of Might and Magic

Nope, highly doubtful. Mastiff produced plenty of copies of this game...

Thanks for that list, it definetly sounds like this could apply to PS2 games (and maybe XBox, GBA and GCN games as well) but I guess it's just a matter of having stuff price checked to know what games.

I went to CC and Xmen: Next Dimension (PS2) rang up for $1.99 as well. Maybe this is a new clearance?

If anybody goes to CC today, make a note to get some older games and price check them.

Was the game X-Men: Next Dimension? Just asking because I went to Half.com to try to look at the boxart to see what it looks like so I know what to look for and that was the title that was listed.
I went to CC and Xmen: Next Generation (PS2) rang up for $1.99 as well. Maybe this is a new clearance?

I'm going right now - will try to do that!
so far its:

la pucelle
chessmaster
xmen next generation

is that it so far?

if more are reported in the next half an hour, ill definitely be running up to CC
If they only had a pricechecker.. 2003 will be a right year to check.

i checked legacy of kain defiance and reel fishing 3 not too long ago. are these old ps2 games? they rang up 14.99 (they were in the "value bin").

Did they have those value UPC sticker over the regular UPC? If they were $1.99 normally or not, they would still ring up for $14.99 if they had those value stickers.
yes, they said they can't remove the upc's though if i wanted to try it. how should i approach this?
Well, you can either try to ask someone else, or peel of the UPC stickers yourself before taking it to the register (with this option, there is a question of ethics, I'm not saying it's right or wrong, just that people have mixed opinions of it). After all of that trouble, it could even be that they aren't going to ring up $1.99 anyway.

I doubt this will be a huge sale promotion (ala $5 deal at CC), but they are most likely trying to clear shelf space... Most def. likely that at least 5 other games ring up at 1.99 or under.
So do most CCs still have a few La Pucelles on the shelves, or is this just a very rare find?
visited mine about a month ago and they had quite a bit. Should be easy to find for most people. Don't miss out on it unless you live in my area ;)

man...i really want to head down to cc tomarrow, but i know as soon as i get home, you guys are gunna post like 6 more games that are $1.99 and ill have to drive back!

Just got back, no La Pucelle or X-Men.

I tried these games that didn't work:

Evolution Skateboarding PS2 - Tagged $29.99 - Rang up for $9.99
Supercar Street Challenge PS2 - Tagged and Rung up for $19.99
Street Hoops Gamecube - Tagged $29.99 and Rang up for $9.99 (was surprised since it was part of the $4.99 sale and the one I checked was not value stickered)

For PS1, I tried MLB 2004 and Treasure Planet, Tagged $29.99 and $19.99, both rang up for $1.99 each.
Did they have those value UPC sticker over the regular UPC? If they were $1.99 normally or not, they would still ring up for $14.99 if they had those value stickers.
The Xmen that we bought was on the shelf didn't have any stickers over the UPC, it was just the regular one on the box. There were a few Xmen's in the value bin, that I think DID have stickers over them. This would likely make a difference.

The only listed $1.99 title on the website is Chessmaster. If you want to check various titles that you know are at your local store you may want to search through the website first. If they're not listed there they may be $1.99 at the B&M location. For example I know my local CC has a copy of .hack Volume 3 and that's not listed on the website.

No, I'm just saying that's an older title that's no longer listed on the website (like La Pucelle) that is available at my local store. Hopefully it was also reduced to $1.99.

Over on FatWallet they claim these ps1 titles are $1.99

GTA2
Dukes of hazzard 2
Tom Raider Last Revelation
Spec Ops Stealth patrol
MLB 2004
DAve Mirra Freestyle BMX
Street sk8er2
Disneys Treasure plane
ENCHU: Stealth Assassins (Greatest Hits)
Colony Wars III: Red Sun
SENTINEL: Returns
Warriors of Might and Magic
Blaster Master: Blasting Again
Tomb Raider II (Greatest Hits)

I'd be skeptical, but there's no polishdreamer in sight so maybe it's legit.

Dave

I just got back after having them scan several of the $9.96/$14.96/$19.99 titles.
I found an Xmen Dimensions for PS2 and that rang up $19.99. All the other rang up for what they said. I didn't try any sticker removal.

No Chessmaster, no La Pucelle, no Xmen for Xbox were to be found. On edit: damn, I just realized it was the PS2 version of Xmen you guys were saying was $1.99 - maybe there isn't even an Xbox version. I wrote Xbox on my notes I took with me - maybe the "Xmen" made me think "Xbox". In any case, I had picked up Xmen for PS2 because I thought it might be cheaper anyway. The guy scanned it and said it was $19.99 but I wasn't staring at his screen - it very well could have been $1.99 and he just said $19.99 because he expected it to scan as the sticker stated and simply read it wrong. Damn!

The only two things that rang up for less than what they were tagged was Powerdrome PS2 (tagged $14.96, rang up $4.96) and Powerdrome Xbox (tagged $19.99, rang up $4.96).

I hate this. My CC does not have any Chessmaster, La Pucelle Tactics and no X-Men Dimension. Wasted an hour look for them.

If you can get this game for $2, I recommend it. It is a very good SRPG, and you can spend literally hundreds of hours on it. Me, I'm probably just gonna finish the main story and go wild levelling with Disgaea instead.
