We got in a half pallet display of 147 $10 DS games at my store. It's got a lot of... stuff on it. 35 different titles.

Most of it probably won't be of interest (bunch of Nick games, some Disney stuff... etc.) However, there was some nice games on it - Puzzle Quest, Chessmaster, Geometry Wars: Galaxies, Lost in Blue 2 and Lost in Blue 3... some nice picks.

Since this is a large display, I'm assuming many other stores got it. Perhaps worth checking out.

I'm still trying to decide if I want to pick up Chessmaster - anyone know if you can save multiplayer games to continue them later?

Found the display today right in front of electronics, pretty big cardboard display, impossible to miss. Thx OP...picked up Puzzle Quest.
Tempted by chessmaster, the PC version has always been good. I would love a full list.
I think all the good ones have been covered in this thread. Might be missing a few (I counted 30 in my list and the OP says 35), but I doubt any good ones.

I couldn't get the whole display in one shot, I know the reflections are bad.

Thanks a TON!
I really hate going into my Wal-Mart unless I have too. People actually call my closest Wal-Mart the Fallujah Wal-Mart.
Dang, seems like Puzzle Quest is the only good game there, and it's for the wrong platform.
I have both. The DS version is only a little better.

Tough crowd. That Worms version is supposed to be very good. Its Worms, but this is a handheld we're talking about . . .

Can we have some locations of the Wal-Marts with these displays? I've been to the two near me and nothing. I'm wondering if this is a regional thing or something that will be rolled out nationally.

We have 2 WalMarts in Morgantown, WV--one has the display (has been up for at least a week: in electronics, by the register) the other doesn't. I asked about it and guy said they had a display of cheap DS games up before Christmas, but not since. Our BestBuy had Geometry Wars for $10 too (with some other $10 titles--some up by register, some with ds games). They also had the Illusion/Magic Game with for DS for $15, same price as the WalMart 2/$30 online bundle.

Nerf Armor slips off easily if you undo the hinges first, BTW

I went back yesterday to find the "good" games are long gone. Puzzle Quest, Lost in Blue 2 & 3, Chessmaster, etc...all gone. Now the display is just a collection of kiddy junk. It was nice while it lasted.

nothing at the local one. will hit up another this weekend.

there are like 3 I'd get... but hoping to find them.

This should be YMMV.

Update for Orange County, CA: only 2 stores have the displays, Huntington Beach and Foothill Ranch. Nothing at Orange, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Buena Park, Laguna Niguel, or Westminster. Yes, I visited all of them in person late this week.

Geometry Wars, Puzzle Quest, Worms Open Warfare 2, and Bleach DS are definitely the titles worth looking for with this promotion.

From what I remember, the Worms team admitted that the past handheld Worms games were generally half-baked, and so they personally oversaw the development of both versions. As a result, both the DS and PSP WOW2 are quality games, and it's probably the best Worms game in the franchise's recent history. Highly recommended.

Maybe there is a pattern here, is it only Supercenters? Mine is a small rural supercenter.

Supercenters as in with Grocery and Tire center?

Because I've been to 2 of my local 3, and so far none.

I'm going to my last third local one, and that's within a 100 mile radius... if that one doesn't have it... then it's not all stores at all.

I wish it wasn't YMMV.

Same goes for Chino Hills and Corona.

you are in midwest of nowhere

The one WM I found the display in was a supercenter (i.e. had the grocery store inside), the other two I've been to in the past week that didn't have the display weren't. Take that for what's it's worth. :whistle2:?

Indeed I am, 0 for 3 for any type of display.

Me so very sad

I stopped by my Supercenter (with the grocery store inside) and they didn't have the display. I looked all over electronics and then the rest of the store. Maybe it is a regional thing.

All I wanted to get was Worms Open Warfare, the rest didn't interest me.

No go in Florence KY, I was there today and even asked a employee about a display of $10 games. I also looked in the display but didn't see anything I was looking for. I wanted Mah Jong, Chessmaster and Worms for myself and Puzzle Quest for my mom to throw in her goody box of DS games and stuffs i'm getting ready to mail.

I'll hit up the Fort Wright store tomorrow. I was at least hoping for a Chessmaster....

EDIT: read a couple posts above above the supercenter idea and my store WAS a supercenter. whomp whomp whaaaaa

The Parkway Plaza Walmart (San Diego) has the display. Picked up Chessmaster and Puzzle Quest Saturday morning; they also had Lost in Blue 2 & 3.

Greg

Maybe this is one of those cases where all stores are eventually going to get the displays, just some stores are putting it out quicker than others?

oh that would be nice indeed... keep my hopes up!

I'd like to sag LiB 2&3 and maybe Galaxies...

The Tuscaloosa, AL Wal-Mart does not have the display. However, the $10 games are locked away in and end cap case. The couldn't put the games out like the display shown because of the threat of theft which is high at that store apparently. So if you don't see the display, check around for DS games in a case (separate) from the other DS games. The case I saw had a sign mentioning $10 games and was in the same case as the display for the Touch generation games by Nintendo. Picked up Galaxies and Puzzle Quest.

Hit up almost every Wal Mart in the 909 and 951 area. Seriously, nothing. It's okay, I already have puzzle quest and geometry wars. Bleach was a nice find though.

I hit up another one today, still no displays. I checked in the endcaps and all around the electronics area. I guess my area is a dud.

I've now seen it at both supercenters I've visited (30 miles apart). I bought 4 total, I only had 7 picked I might buy, so I'll probably stop there.
