I was at best buy yesterday and they have these "Red" magazine laying around for free. It was their premiere issue, its a magazine for ATI graphic cards. Anyways, in the back of the magazine are coupons for $10 off any game over 29.99 along with other coupons for ATI products. It doesnt specify whether you can use it for PC games or console games---so i asked the cashier if i can use it for PS2 games, and he said yes.

check your local bestbuy for RED magazine. I found it in the video game section.
If they try to pull shit like that on me... I'm going to buy a pack of gum! :D Or I'll wait until the cashier rings it up and totals it, then it'll be over $30 and then I'll hand them the coupon! :D
uhhhh... you do know that the individual item itself has to be over $29.99, right? because you know, the coupon is for "any (one) game", not "any game and a pack of gum".

Yeah... I knew that... :D But that is bullshit that it has to be over $29.99 and not $29.99. LAAAMEEE. But I'll still use it on Radiata Stories or Battalion Wars. :)

You might want to rent Radiata first. I love Tri-Ace, but hated Radiata.

BlockBuster and Hollywood Video don't carry it to rent so I'm forced into buying it. :'( Plus I NEED an RPG fix right now. If I don't like it, I'll trade it in at GR for $30-$35 and keep the box and manual until the day it drops to a point where I can find it disc only for $15. ^.^

Blockbuster and Hollywood video don't carry it. My little local video store that stills rents out madden 2002-2006, have at least one copy of radiata stories.

I went to my Best Buy and didn't have any luck... I asked the guy there though and he said that they're supposed to get it, but haven't gotten it in yet.

Then I suggest you buy it used and keep the receipt. Really, I wanted to like it, but couldn't. Boring cutscenes, a retardified version of the Star Ocean battle system... I'm sure you can get your RPG fix somewhere else. Do you have both Shadow Hearts games? Grandia 2? Perhaps more of an action RPG, like X-Men Legends or Champions of Norrath? And if you like strategy RPGs, lord, how many of THEM do we have?

I do have both Shadow Hearts, Grandia II and I don't really like Norrath. I guess I could try X-Men Legends. It's supposed to be good right? Also, I have Fire Emblem: PoR for GC on preorder at GR, so there's my SRPG fix on the 17th, so I'm set with that. I'll most likely just rent X-Men Legends since I'm not into superheroes OR comics... I know I'm a freak. ;)

The coupon is freely available, and YMMV on whether they'll take it on console/handheld games, so I don't know if it's worth putting up a scan, but here you go. This is for you adventurous folk who don't yet have RED available in your stores but want to take a chance on a printout. (Personally I wouldn't recommend trying to pull it off, but that's just me.)

I'd take a chance on a printout... the most they can say is no, most cashiers won't even bother to ask where the coupon came from.

That's a real nice scan, I'll have to print out a few of these bad boys :D

But that heading at the top... any game OVER 29.99... that is a weird stipulation to have on a coupon. I have a feeling it's their way of stopping 29.99 games, because shouldn't it say 29.99 and up?

Yeah, I mainly advise against it because the coupon doesn't work automatically since it seems to be for PC games. Sure, it scans, so that should be enough legitimacy, but that it doesn't discount automatically will only be the first step towards suspicion. ::shrug::

Anyway, here's a scan of the front so you know what to look for...

...and the back...

The spine is red (duh :p). Or you can just ask someone in the computer department if they have any.

I don't get how people can post such bad scans sometimes. It just takes a little while longer to scan at a higher resolution, and even if you scale the resulting image down, it will be so much clearer.

I took the printout in tonight and it worked just fine...the girl at the register looked at it, then manually entered the price...had a manager or whatever come over and enter his code while I filled out the little "manual reduction" receipt thing. All he said was "hmm, haven't seen this one before." Now I have me some We Love Katamari for some original Katamari pricing! Happiness prevails!

I love this coupon OP. While I was getting Mercs for Xbox this week, I remembered about this coupon and actaully found one in the store. Picked up Katamari for $19.99. Couldn't PM the sale price of Fry's at CC since they were sold out, but this did just fine. I suggest that while this coupon is still good that people use it for that and DS games, especially DS games since most Nintendo made games for portables don't tend to go down. I'm planning on hitting them up to pick up Kirby: Canvas Curse this week. Even Fry's didn't have it for $24.99 here.

As far as Circuit City accepting competitor's coupons: Is that now against their corporate policy, or is it still possible to do? I wouldn't mind picking up Fable: TLC for $24.99 this week.
My CC has never let me pricematch competitor's coupons.
Probably be good if they don't. Then I won't be as tempted to buy it. Might as well get the Stewie Griffin DVD and be done with it.
next week castlevania, trauma center! this week lost in blue, lunar.
Does anyone know if BB will carry Trauma Center at all since it is an Atlus game and they generally don't carry those? You also forgot Trace Memory. So many great DS games coming out in such a short time. my wallet pains. I'll probably get Lunar later at a price drop as its getting blown out of the water by reviews and such.
Just got back from the Best Buy where I actually have luck -- I got a bunch so I'm set through 10/15.
were there a lot? i'm hoping my BB has some by the time friday gets here...

Was able to pick up a couple of the magazines . . . didn't use one yet.

Definitely cut the circle off on the right that mentions ATI

Lol, most people who work at Best Buy (espically the cashiers and supervisors) won't know what ATI is anyways :p

I did pre-order Trauma Center for $19.99 at EB during misprice deal. If they honor it then it'll be great. If not i'll get my $$$ back and let BB have my $$$ :)

I got nba live 06 today at fry's for 37.99 then i asked them to pricematch trace memory with the red magazine coupon. i got trace memory for 19.99.

I'm taking some printouts of the coupon just in case I can't find the real thing...I know at least some people had success using a printout (someone mentioned it in a Request a Deal thread). But I wonder: did you print out the image as-is or did you click it to the mega-big size? I can't decide which the clerk would look at weirder.

Make it poster size, roll it up, carry it under your arm. When you get to the checkout, roll it out across the counter like a map and show the clerk the large UPC, they're sure to type it in manually and give you an extra $5 off just for being kickass.

Yaeh, same shit happened to me to a t. Went to CC first, but they were out of Katamari so I did this coupon when I found one at the BB that I hate. I'm going to get a slew of DS games with this coupon as well.

I'll hit CC later today to pricematch "Kingdom under fire: heroes $20 & hope I can Get Ninja Gaiden Black for $20 after $5 off BB coupon :)

I tried this coupon today at my local BB, and got denied on Trace Memory, which is a $29.99 game. Manager said that since the coupon declares any game over $29.99 that it's excluded. Have very many people actually had luck using this thing with $29.99 games?

Printed one off and picked up Ninja Gaiden Black today. The manager had to come out though because the coupon wouldn't take the $10 off (even though they scanned the UPC). I was planning on going back tomorrow for Trace Memory or possibly Indigo Prophecy but I might wait a day or two.

For anyone who's played Indigo Prophecy, is it worth $30? It looks really interesting but after being introduced to this site I hate paying more than $25 for a game unless I've been wanting it for ages.

I gave the cashier the coupon after the tax came up, and I had no problem. I guess it depends on what mood the employee who's ringing it up is in.

Rainbow Six Lockdown sucks............................................................i wouldnt even take it for free

I was successful picking up Trace Memory for $19.99 as well, but the cashier had to call over someone and do it manually.

All these overrides do not bode well for the coupon, I fear.

Has anyone tried it on something more expensive than 29.99, or on a PC game over 29.99? I'm wondering if the coupon is actually active in their system, or if it really does wants games over 29.99 regardless of system.

Considering that the coupon DOES specifically say "over 29.99," I'm guessing that it was never meant to include the $29.99 games. I hadn't really noticed it 'till the cashier pointed out today. I just saw people on here claiming it worked, and I thought it was automatic...but when she scanned the game, then scanned the coupon, it didn't automatically do it and she had to call the manager over. The manager looked at the coupon, looked at my copy of Trace Memory, and pointed out that the coupon doesn't say "29.99 or more" it says "over 29.99." :(

Look at it this way: If it doesn't work at Best Buy, just go to Circuit City and use the coupon since they'll accept it. I seriously doubt they'll say no.

i'll use the coupon at bb for DDR extreme 2. should be ok since they'll price it at 39.99. now i just gotta try it out for Lost in Blue and Trauma Center. If they wont take it, pricematch it somewhere else.
