I was at best buy yesterday and they have these "Red" magazine laying around for free. It was their premiere issue, its a magazine for ATI graphic cards. Anyways, in the back of the magazine are coupons for $10 off any game over 29.99 along with other coupons for ATI products. It doesnt specify whether you can use it for PC games or console games---so i asked the cashier if i can use it for PS2 games, and he said yes.

check your local bestbuy for RED magazine. I found it in the video game section.

My sister says she was able to get 15 more WoW cards ordered for her BB. I hope they shpw up before the coupon expires on the 15th.

speaking of unlucky..one time my friend got 3 pieces to some dinosaur puzzle for mcdonalds or something and he could of won 1 million bucks...but he realized that he won too late and they wouldnt give it to him...he was REALLY pissed...
 
I went to two BB's near me and neither had any Red Magazines, nor had even heard of them. I hate BB and this really sucks. I'll try out the print-out though.

Seriously, to everyone, the printout works fine, don't waste time looking for this RED magazine. At the local Best Buy here, it was way back in the computer section, very far away from the games, on the desk over there.

Not everypne got printout to work. Several people here got rejected base on the no photocopy line.
 
I picked up Castlevania for $24.99 with this deal.

The guy at the register kept saying, "Why doesn't this scan?" Then the supervisor came over and manually took the $10 off. Everything went well.

Finding RED magazine was a pain in the ass at a lot of places since I know that a few stores didn't even have them.
 
I'm really lucky my brother has a BB by his college, where he got me 4 copies of it, and 1 for him. :D
 
Just a heads up...

Between my brother, sister, dad and myself we've used this print out about 6 times in the past 4 days. The scan works great after they get a manager to override it. Now someone earlier mentioned if CC would take the coupon and the response was "Nope", that is PURELY YMMV. Last night after seeing how amazing FIFA 06 was on my DS my father wanted to now buy a DS, he was hooked. He wanted FIFA 06 and Meteos so off we went to Best Buy...Only FIFA 06 in stock, so we went over to CC because we were going to use a 10% off $199 coupon to buy him AND my wife (Now SHE wants in on this!) a DS there as well. Besides getting 2 blue DS's for $117 each (No tax in Delaware) they also had Meteos in stock so just for kicks my dad asked about the coupon and on TOP of the 10% off from the Circuit City coupon they ALSO matched the Best Buy RED coupon at 110% of the difference. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get Castlevania or Trauma Center and had to pay full price at EB for them but considering how hard it is to locate them I just wanted to make sure I had them.

I ended up grabbing Pac-Pix for $19.99 at Best Buy, it wasn't on my "Must Have" list but I'm caught up on my DS purchases and there wasn't anything else really left in stock and I HAD to get in on this deal too. HAHAHA. :)

My sister really did good as she got Lost In Blue and Nintendogs: Lab edition for a total of $39.98. Talk about killer deal.

I'd once again like to thank the CAG member who had originally scanned that coupon, this forum rocks. And good luck matching it at Circuit City, I can assure you that it CAN and does work.
 
Went into BB today, purchased Virtua Tennis for the PSP.

Price was marked $39.99, used a printout of the coupon with no problems at all.

It was busy, the cashier looked like he needed a little help, but ended up taking

the $10.00 off himself. Thanks OP.
 
damnit...they wouldnt let me use the coupon after pricematching xmen legends II for 38.88 :(

i took it anyway though...just wish i coulda saved 10 more bucks...

Does anyone know if Best Buy is getting Serious Sam 2? The coupon knocks it down to $19.99 (has an MSRP of $29.99) and I'll definately snag it for that.

Comes out in two days, hopefully they get it in, it's not on their website which is usually a bad sign.

According to Gamestop / EB, the game actually ships today, hits tommorrow, hopefully Best Buy gets it in!

Called my local BB today & they have Trauma Center in STOCK and Advance Wars: DS instock. Also, my copy Castlevania is on the way home but sadly cuz today is HOLIDAY.....ARGHHHHHHHH...... but still worth $25.

If they have it, it would be on Thursday, which is the day the seem to get the new games in. Maybe Friday.

The text on the coupon says OVER $29.99, though most cashiers that have accepted it have taken it on games that ARE $29.99. Usually with some remark about it being odd for it to be "over $29.99". As long as it's a $29.99 game that's being purchased, for most people, it seems to work OK.
 
no you're right, best buy peeps are accepting it cuz they haven't caught it yet.

i will try today for nintendogs. still the print does say over 29.99 so they can still say no if they're smart enuff. i dont know what i would be "Jumped" for since the coupon does say that. i just wanted to clarify.

did you try the computer section? i asked around and everyone also gave me that stupid look until i went to the comp section and asked for it. they instantly knew and gave me 1..........then i took 1 more haha.
 
I just used my 8th coupon and it's great. My BB's ran out of Red's about a week ago. I was able to grab five. And I've used the scanned version thrice.

Tpday I grabbed Guild Wars for $30

I'm going to pick up Pirates for the PC either today or tomorrow for $20.
 
very niceee. there is a new best buy about 20 min. from my house here it's absolutely empty. they have 20 copies of RED just laying out. but i only took what i knew i was gonna use heh.

i seriously wish i could like, hand u guys that need the mags over the monitor lol. :bouncy:

My father in law recieved it in the mail from Circuit City, kinda like those ones you get from Best Buy. The funny thing is, he NEVER shops there and only really bought a TV from them like 8 years ago. Meanwhile I've spent thousands of dollars there and haven't gotten one. :cold:

Anyway I went over to Circuit City with my dad to buy his DS and in order to use the coupon I lumped my wife's DS in with his which came out to be $117 for each DS. It was supposed to be a Xmas gift for her but I couldn't refuse that kind of deal and besides she is anxiously awaiting Animal Crossing and hogs mine for Meteos. heh.

My family and I have used the coupon 7 times this past week, and I can assure you none of the 7 games have been OVER $29.99. Its purely YMMV but I've seen way more success with $29.99 games than otherwise.

cool cool, i'll definitely buy nintendogs today and give it a shot. i used only 1 before on castlevania. my coupons expire the 15th of this month.
 
Do they still have those gamer gift cards with the 5.00 coupon on the back? If so, can they be combined with the RED magazine to get 15.00 off a game?
 
Curses :( that would be great though.

I want to get Far Cry at the best price possible, so Im thinking this would be my only option.

I know some people got problems printing a coupon out, but thats a rarity right?

Did anyone's store get Socom III? I called mine and they said Thursday at the earliest. I thought BB was usually pretty good about getting games a day after they shipped, I guess not.

Usually Thursday for games that ship on Tuesday, as Shrike said.

Serious Sam 2, if they are getting it, should be there tommorow since it shipped Monday.
 
games that ship on tuesday if you call around some stores will get them by wed. morning but will be in their back stock. they will only sell it to you if you ask them to look in the back. that is what i did with castlevania.

BB employees is pretty lazy! They have 5 copies of Trauma Center instock but they didn't put on the floor around a week from now. Which is now they have 4 copies left cuz i just snag one copy. :)

Got bad news for you, at least for the PC version (maybe the Xbox one too?)

Went to Best Buy, didn't see it... this is normal, I asked the employee and she looked it up. Now, I expected either "Oh, it's in the back, I can get one" or "Tommorrow morning".

No, Best Buy apparently dosen't expect Serious Sam 2 for PC until 10 / 18... a week after it ships to everyone else.

HOW CONVEINENT!!!

So I went across the street to EB, the game is still worth $30, I'll just hold onto my receipt in case it goes cheaper. Also threw down a preorder for Civ 4 and Quake 4 Collector's Edition :D
 
Used a print-out for Castlevania today. Didn't scan, the girl had to call someone over and do it manually, blah blah blah, eventually got the game.

Are you guys getting this to work with printouts or are there still magazines laying around at the stores?
