12 Month Xbox Live Subscription Cards 40$ At Amazon

It's been that way for over a month, maybe longer.

I only buy them when they are $30 or less. I think buy.com had it for $28 at one point this year.

That's 40 too much, IMO. Microsoft needs to man-up and offer basic online play for free, like their competitors. I switched over to PS3 to get my online groove on....and this after several years of paying for XBL. I put a stop to it, because it's just not right. They make plenty of $$$ off downloads, arcade games, movies and such. Sticking their customers to play online is wrong.

^We pay for LIVE because its a superior service to PSN & Wii online, end of story, I pay for LIVE with confidence and will continue to do so.

Nobody cares about your opinion.

For those that need to renew their Live, this is a pretty good deal. Not the greatest but who knows when buy.com offer will come around again.

Yes. Last year at Christmas, buy.com had 13-month cards for $30. A few months ago, buy.com had 12-month cards for $28. Both were much better deals than Amazon's current $40 price (which buy.com also has for the same price, but taxes in different states than does Amazon, in case anyone wants to pull the trigger on the $40 price point).

Sorry, I didn't mean to insult your boyfriend.

Look, why would anyone go into a DEAL thread for a Xbox Live subscription... just to rip the xbox live business model? Got nothing else to do?

If it's not for you and you play on the PS3. Great! But what the hell does that have to do with a 12 month card at $40?

This isn't a Live vs PS3 thread is it? So STFU.
When Sony introduces cross-game chat, there will be no reason that MS should continue to charge for live, IMO.
Agreed.

That is almost the only reason I've been using Live at all, lately. Cross game chat is amazing.

I love 4chan oh wait....what..... your telling me this isnt 4chan oh wow couldve fooled me with all the trolls around ripping on something that more than likely dosent apply to them
Good deal, but I expect it to be $30 or less on Black Friday
Agreed. Either that or wait till someone puts the bundles on sale again (picked up 2 12 month bundles with the headsets and whatnot for $20 at TRU a few years back).

Ya, I think that's Amazon's standard price. I bought one about six months ago at $40.

Me too. I can't help but assume there's going to be some good deals on them in the holidays.

Thanks for the post. I went ahead and bought it as one of my Gold accounts auto-renews in 2 weeks, so I can't wait for potential Holiday sales later in the year.

I hope to see it drop below 25 bucks, that would be awesome.

FYI, you can remove the auto-renewal feature so you never get nailed by Microsoft for the full Xbox Live price. Major Nelson posted about it months ago.

thanks, OP. guess they're still trying to clear out the physical cards as they have the digital purchase available.
