$139.99 Microsoft Zune 30GB Expires Today 10/09/07 @Buy.com

The games on this thing can also be found on a Casio Watch @ target... pffft

I dont want to initiate a flame but hell....it's just a copy paste version of the iPod. that lacks the ability to be an ipod -_-. I bet even at this price a lot of people won't bite.
Not to thread crap but woot has it for 104 dollars shipped.
The only problem with the one on woot is that its a refurb.

True, but the refurb Zune on woot:

1. Is Black
2. Comes with brand new factory sealed packaging and accessories
3. Comes with the standard 1-year warranty
5. Has probably been tested more thoroughly than the new Zunes have
4. Is a good bit cheaper

With the warranty intact I don't see why anyone would pass up the Woot deal if they were interested in the Zune. For the money it's a fantastic MP3 player.

Dont get me wrong, i dont have a problem with refurbs, its just when you can pay $40 more wouldnt you rather have a new one. I mean sure it comes in a crappy color literally, but hey you can always buy a black case for it or something. I mean you would get the warranty from microsoft as well, and new ones have passed quality control standards as well. It would be nice to get a black one it looks so much cooler, but i personally would rather pay $40 bucks more plus 15 or so for a case to cover the hideous color. ;) I mean your going to buy a case anyway at least if you want to protect it. Well to each there own...

*EDIT* BTW if anyone is interested in getting the one from woot and lives in Texas as do I, you will have to pay tax. However, woot has got your back sort of if you put in coupon code *TAXSUCKS* you get $5 off the order which is basically your shipping back

Where is this Zune on Woot? I never heard of the site before now but from what I can see they only offer one item per day and it ain't a currently a Zune...

$40 is a lot of money and in this case is almost half again what you would be paying for the cheaper Zune. A 40% increase in price!

Besides, the refurbs come with the full warranty and new accessories. They are probably less likely to fail. Why pay $40 more? You're not getting anything for your money except the mental satisfaction that this is "new". (I realize some people have mental blocks about used stuff, I know people who would never buy a used car, even though they know buying new cars is a colossal waste of cash).

By all means, if you have hang-ups about used/refurbished items, go with the Buy.com deal, but if you want to save some money and get essentially the same thing, go with woot.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a Zune for $140, but I would (and did) buy it for $99. It's just a question of value and at what point it's "worth it" for you.

I just went ahead and ordered the one from buy.com (using the link), but I had looked at woot.com first. Where is this available from them? It looks like the only thing they had for sale today was a 2 pack of helicopters and that's sold old. Their FAQ page says they only sell one item a day. Am I looking at the wrong page?

I bought a refurb PSP about a year ago. It seemed fine at first, but the analog stick started to get screwy and I collected stuck pixels like they were pokemons or something. Returned it for a "used" one and had no problems with it. The lady at EB told me they have lots of problems with refurb systems.

This is a special page at woot, but the deal has ended. Heres the link anyways: http://www.woot.com/special.aspx?k=vipzune

the zune is worht it, use GCO and select no magazine for a 10 rebate and it brings it down to $120 for a NEW brown Zune. Might just bite, better paying 15 more for a new than refurbed at woot.com :)

The brown one is disgusting looking don't say you're going to buy it until you've actually seen it.

I see from slickdeals.net that Buy.com has the 30 GB brown Zune for $99.99 now. But it says it won't ship until nov 19th. I wrote them an email asking if I'm entitled to a $40 refund, but I expect to be shafted.

Edit: Yes, I was shafted. Three days max on price matches.
