$20 off 3 Bluray Movies Coupon @ BB UPDATED Expires 1/14/08

For the coupon to simply work (without being overridden) you need a title OVER $20...As the coupon states, no offers (which apparently a sale price is an offer now...) so because of this it needs a title over $20 to work. It should work fine with 2 $14.99 titles and a $24.99 title.
there is a new one that expires on the 14th. check earlier postings!
sorry, i didn't know there was a new one posted. i was looking for this coupon seeing as i bought three movies today (two $14.99 and one $24.99.) hopefully i can bring them in tomorrow and adjust the price.
Isn't this kind of behavior the type of thing CAGers try to avoid? A little unethical IMO.
Companies like best buy are in business to make money.

a 38.99 sale is better than no sale at all. On a sub-par trilogy at that.

Personally, with all the money I've spent at best buy, it's about time I get a little bit out of them. The resident evil movies aren't even that good to begin with. If someone here bought them just to have them, and not because they were actually on sale and you could get them for a decent price, then I don't really know what to say.

When I was there, a friend and I were told there had to be one movie $20 or above (not $19.99, but $20) for the coupon to scan in. I picked up Deliverance, Corpse Bride, and Curse of the Golden Flower ($24.99), and the coupon scanned in just fine with no problems (printout of the January 14th expiration copy).
Why would you return WAR it's nice action film!

Jet Li kicks ass!
War was amazing. It actually had a good story AND good action.
Hope BB got Sunshine today.
Me too. It will be a blind buy, but it seems like it would be right up my alley. Do you know the MSRP on it?

I think MSRP is around $34.99 I could be wrong about that though.
You sir, are the man. TY!
Gracias. We may want to add this to the original thread just in case since I see some folks are asking about it.

Went to BB again today, tried the coupon again with 3:10 to Yuma, Goodfellas, and Beerfest - worked like a charm. So, one movie had to be over $20 to get this to work.

is it absolutely necessary for you to be a rz member?

i just signed up online... will i get an actual card in the mail or will i be stuck with this prinout temporary card?

My coupon was just rejected at the Chelsea BB in Manhattan. I was trying to pick up Simpsons the Movie, Training Day, and Scanners Darkly. First the cashier tells me the coupon does not work with clearance items, to which I say they're not on clearance, they're on sale.

So I ask to speak to a manager. She tells me, the coupon is not valid. She says the coupon is not from their website. I told her I just printed the coupon from a RZ email I just received today. The URL on the bottom of the page confirms this too. She then tells me their website was hacked.

I just gave up trying to talk to her. Going to try again at another BB...

You are a RZ member right? After my coupon worked, the cashier told a co-worker "you have to be a Reward Zone member for it work, thats why it didn't work for that kid earlier"

Yeah, I am a RZ member. The cashier scanned the movies first, then the coupon. I was about to hand my RZ card over when she told me it didn't work. Doesn't explain why the manager was so rude to me though. She seemed determined not to let me use the coupon.

I'll hand over my RZ card first next time. Followed by the coupons then the BDs.

Yup. They must have caught someone PSing coupons recently or something. Or they were in a bad mood. ;-)

I didn't know what to get as my $20 off Blu-Ray, so I thought about picking up the RE Trilogy pack, but I noticed that the price is now at $69.99. So my question is, does this ring up differently? How'd some of you get the mid $30s pricing AC.

The RE Trilogy was on sale last week for $58.99 - $20 coupon = $38.99. Problem was Lurk, you couldn't find them in our area.

Coupon worked fine for me, Picked up A Scanner Darkly, Goodfellas, and Bladerunner collector's edition for $48.12.

Worked great for me ... and I had to sign up for a card there. I had a temp card (with the printout) but it didn't work. So the CSR had me sign up again.

Got Deliverance, Blade Runner CE (though the website said nob store in Houston had any in stock!), and Total Recall. The latter might go back if something else goes on sale in the next few weeks.

i picked up a scanner darkly, beerfest, and the fountain. they told me i couldn't use the coupon because it couldn't be combined with other "offers." according to the managers logic sale items are considered "offers."anyways, i told her that sounds like a load of bullshit because i had just bought assassin's creed for the ps3 while it was on sale for $39.99 and used a $10 off coupon that stated it couldn't be used with other offers. she replied with "that was a video game."

jesus christ... ::rolls eyes::

i got sort of mad and told her i was with my friend yesterday to get the same exact movies and he was able to use the coupon. about a minute later she discounted them manually and i got the movies for a total of $32.44.

A lot of BB cashiers don't know how to enter the coupons properly. They have to scan your rewards card first, then scan 3 movies then scan the coupon. At that point they get a confirmation message that you did buy 3 movies and then the $20 coupon gets registered. Deviating from that order will cause the coupon not to work.

And a sale is not an offer, I had a cashier try to tell me the $19.99 sale as "special order" and I had to laugh at him. If it was limited to full price movies it would say that on the coupon.

Used the coupon again yesterday on 3:10 to Yuma, Dragon Wars, & NIN and the cashier couldn't get it to work. Called a manager over and they said it won't work because the coupon isn't good for new releases:roll:. Told him the coupon says any 3 BR and he looked it over for a good 5 minutes before manually deducting $20 from the NIN BR.

I've used the coupon several times at a few different locations, only time I was turned down was when I tried to use it on 3 movies that were $14.99 each. As long as one of the movies is $20 or more, the computer automatically recognizes the coupon without any sort of manager override.

Also, not sure how much of a difference it makes but, the coupon says that the cashier should scan the coupon FIRST, then the movies, then the reward zone card and hit total.

I used the coupon yesterday. When I walked up to the register, the employee looked at the coupon and said "This won't work, my manager told me that these don't work. We just had a person try to use it and it didn't work." He was cool so I asked him to scan the RZ card, the BD movies and then the coupon. The look on his face when the coupon worked was priceless. He said "I guess it did work and my manager was wrong." At that point I thanked him and went on my merry way.

I find it helps to always be polite and patient with these coupon deals. I tried using the $20 off on three $14.99 titles and it just wouldn't happen. I asked the cashier to wait a minute, went and traded one of the disks for a $24.99 title and everything worked smoothly. The cashiers usually try to make the deal work as long as you don't yell at them or get too argumentative.

Aside from the scan order woes with the cashiers - how are you guys getting it to work even AFTER the JAN 7th EXPIRATION DATE (as clearly stated on top of coupon) .

So to recap, since JAN 7th your now going to face:

- erroneous instructions from mgrs claiming they won't work
- requirement of cashier to scan in order of RZ Card, 3 Movies, Coupon
- *PLUS* having both the system + cashier overlook expiration date.

Would seem next to impossible to still use it - but the last 3 posters or so all used it since expiration date - How was that possible ?

If coupon indeed still "systematically" works since EXP DATE then perhaps someone needs to photoshop the exp. date out of the coupon and post a new one, like we did with the $ 10.00 BB Game coupons last year heh.

peaceout

A couple of pages back there is a new coupon with an expiration date of January 14th. I'll update the original post.

Just picked up
The Rock $5
Total Recall $18
Superman 2 $15

3:10 to Yuma $10
March of the Penguins $15
The Fountain $20

Also, Under Siege and Gothika are unadvertised $15 in store, and Stargate is $18

What the hell is PSing?

photoshopping.

So I went to Best Buy with $75 in gift cards yesterday to pick up four movies. I also took with me the $20 coupon for buying 3 blu-ray movies. I ended up getting a cashier from the Geek Squad because the only other cashier was having problems with his guest. The GS guy didn't really know what he was doing and was distracted from ringing me up 4 times. Because of this, I walked out with four movies having only paid for three of them. I didn't even notice until I got home and checked the receipt.

thanks op!!!

used this in conjunction with the AWE $10 off. didn't mean to. handed her both by accident and she went and used them.

thanks again.

Thanks for this coupon!!! I signed up for the Reward Zone card, printed out my temporary card and got Resident Evil: Extinction, Casino Royale and Live Free or Die Hard the first time and Blade Runner, Deliverance and Superman Returns the second time. I've only had my PS3 a bit over a week and already have a great Blu Ray collection thanks to you!

FINALLY i got to use a coupon that worked, thanks
got Goodfellas & Lethal Weapon for $14.99 each, T3 was $24.99 but the coupon made it $4.99...actually was the same cashier as last time i went n mgr shot me down cause all the movies were on sale & he said it didnt work cause of that...the cashier was really nice though & said she was happy I came back.

They tried it in so many different orders and it still didn't work...I wonder if it's because of the movies I got, the manager had to manually override to get it to work and I couldn't use my reward zone coupon in conjunction:

Beerfest ($4.99-manual override $10 off)
Blood Diamond ($4.99-manual override $10 off)
Training Day: $14.99

I thought I was the only one having this pain in the ass with this coupon. At the first BB I tried the cashier wanted to call her manager since the coupon wasn't working but I just wanted to get out and try another but results were as stated above.
Nice coupon, but I can't think of any 3 movies I'd pick up...unless I could somehow get it to work with the RE trilogy.
RE trilogy should count as one of the movies. I'd wait to see what's on sale next week. The coupon will work on Sunday still and if any Disney titles are on sale you can use the $5 off coupons to save even more money.
Hmm..good idea. So should I sign up for a reward zone card NOW incase I use the coupon next week?
Yes, but do it in the store since the temporary cards you print out if you do it online don't always scan and they have no way to enter the number to give you credit.

Just got back from my BB and did the 3 for $20 deal and boy did I get them for as much as I could

I had them price match WalMart on all three of the BDs that I bought - 2001, Casino Royale, and Seven Years in Tibet. That alone knocked 12 bucks off the top, minus the $20 and minus a $20 RZ 'certificate' I had from someone, everything came out to $31 after tax. THANKS OP!!

And note, make sure you guys do the order in which cplclegg said to on page 8 as the cashier said it hasn't been working for other people and he doubted it would work for me. After following that process, it did, so thank you cplclegg and OP!

I was able to use this on the Spiderman trilogy. Its a YMMV, but its worth a shot. The manager is actually the same one that always shoots me down for price matches, but the cashier was cool and it all worked out. Good luck!
Can I sign up for a rewards zone care there, then do the transaction?
I think you can. Someone else in this thread said they signed up in the store. They would really have no idea when you signed up, nor care, when you check out.

Ok so just go to the customer service desk tomorrow and sign up? I'll try that, and then attempt to get it to work on the RE trilogy.

Thanks for all the help :D

The only other thing you could do to be safe is sign up online and enlarge the temporary card. When I printed mine out it looked to be about 40% smaller than what a normal size card would be. This caused the bar codes to be crammed together. It really doesn't matter how big it is a slong as you get a good seperation between all the lines on your card.

And the order again is card, movies, coupon.

I think the problem is that all three of your movies were priced under $20. Apparently the coupon wants to deduct $20 from the price of one of the Blu-rays and if all the prices are less than $20 it can't. It failed for me when I picked three movies at $14.99 each and worked twice when one of the Blu-rays was greater than $20. It shouldn't work that way but from all the posts I've read it does.
