How long does it take for Wherehouse.com to send your games back? I got my rejection email last week and my game, Timesplitters still hasn't come back and I live about 10 miles from the Wherehouse trade in Dept. in Carson, Ca. This really sucks cause they gave me some BS reason for rejecting it (missing artwork) and now I probably won't even get it back.

yes PSP's are $300, you have to buy a game with it... but some places let you buy twisted metal which is only $40 so you can pick up the system for $290 (or 10 room zooms and a couple freestyle soccers ;) )

[quote name='wampa8jedi']According to a thread on the other board, FYE is having two Greatest Hits games for only $22 starting tomorrow.... that'd be awesome :)[/QUOTE]

I went in both Wherehouse and FYE today. The deal was going on at Wherehouse but from what I remember it's only on select games. And the select games were all crap IMO. I wasn't even paying attention when I went in FYE. I was kinda in a rush to get back to work.

Well today I traded these at Wherehouse:

Egg Mania Xbox $18 (thanx for the heads up on this one Strider Turbulence, I was able to find 3 copies of this at Eb's in my area for $5 a piece)
Unreal II Xbox $18

I just decided to pick up RE1 (non-PC) for GC. It was $15 and now my RE GC collection is complete. Then on my way back to work I stopped at the mall to run into FYE. I got MK:D KE (Scorpion) with the rest of the credit and some other I credit I had for $35.98.

This weekend I'm going to my hometown. I'm going to trade-in a bunch of games at FYE's and the one Wherehouse that's there. This way I can hopefully get my 3rd PSP from FYE and not have to worry about flooding the stores in my area with all this stuff.

Transworld Surf: The Next Wave- 27.00
Blinx 2- 20.99
Blinx 2- 20.99
Motor Trend: Lotus Challenge- 18.50
Destruction Derby Arenas- 18.00 (9.99 at Blockbuster)
ESPN NHL 2k4- 15.00

oK I finally got my rejected Timesplitters back from the wherehouse.com and guess what they scratched up the disc! And the disc case has a UPC sticker that says blowout on the back. I'm thinking they sent me back someone elses game.

Went to my FYE at Brookdale Center in MN, the place has closed up. The worse part is I missed out on the closing sales. Anyway, now Im stuck with using my credit online. Long story short, I found this deal at dvdtalk, which is a decent way to blow some credit if you want these movies. Plus it has a 10% off code:

From dcprules at dvdtalk:
"Also, another good FYE find. There is a 10% coupon code available: SOMETHINGTOBE In addition to ordering Life Aquatic, I went ahead and ordered Scrubs at $31.99 which also comes with a $7 rebate. So 31.99+19.99-10%=46.78-12 (rebate)=34.78 for season 1 of Scrubs and Life Aquatic with free shipping."

Went to 3 FYE's and 1 Wherehouse while I was outta town. Each price listed is for what the games traded in for individually:

Room Zoom x3 $26
Showdown: LoW (Xbox) x3 $22.19
Malice x2 $27
ESPN Hockey (Xbox) x3 $15
FF: CC x2 $22.19
Drake x2 $9
Egg Mania x2 $18
Motor Trend x3 x18.50

And the great thing about it is that I didn't have to flood the area I live in with all this stuff. Time to start stocking up for my next trip.

A few notable FYE Non-Gaming Deals i noticed today:

Coby Dvd Player $10 after $40 Mail in Rebate
Maxell 48 Pack AA Batteries FREE after $10 Mail in Rebate

If you want to convert some of that credit back to cash, they currently have a special going on with Rogue Ops for Xbox. $11.99 - $10 MIR.

If anyone cares about my ongoing "investigation" "saga," it has come to an end:
When I entered the store, the manager who'd told me I was under investigation way back in March was eyeing me. I'd never really bothered to follow up with him after all this time because I figured if anything was wrong, they'd get in contact with me; they have all my information after all. And despite what it may appear like, my absence from their store is not because of fear but because, frankly, I have no business with them and their high mall-store prices. Because there was some confusion with the reciepts (I had to mail in the original reciept for the Rogue Ops rebate which also was my "voucher" of credit, and they didn't know what to give me to mail in so I could keep that), they called the manager over. He told me he'd talked with his supervisor and was told that I could no longer redeem credit at their store. Fine, I can live with that; actually, I was half expecting him to make me surrender my remaining credit. (At which point, I'd be inclined to channel the might of the Better Business Bureau to my side.) Of course, he didn't look very happy when dealing with me, but at no point was he rude or showed distaste; I'll give him "credit" for that. Oh ho ho ho ho.... Well, I'll be home for the summer, so there's nothing stopping me from spending it there. Actually, I was thinking if I ever wanted to pursue a business career, my system-manipulating savvy would be of great service to any retail corporation's loss-prevention department. (Think Leo's character in Catch Me If You Can.) Maybe I'll ask Richie for a reference, eh? I'd like to see how the fellow responds to that ballsy move. (Don't worry, fellow CAGs, I wouldn't narc on my brothers and sisters.)

hmm, couldn't you "buy" it, then "sell" it back to them for $7.50 credit... or does FYE want the original UPC?

unreal 2 (3 copies)- 18 each [picked up for 4.48 at TRU]
nba live 2004 - 9 (bought for 4.99 from ebgames.com)
pro race driver- 10 (5 from BB)

bought resident evil 4 and a 1019 memory card with 12 dollars out of pocket.

Does anyone know if Showdown: LOW gets the same trade-in value for both Xbox and PS2? I've only traded copies of the Xbox version. I saw a complete PS2 copy at a local Blockbuster for $10.

Will they even let you buy a gift card with store credit? That would make it a lot easier than hauling around a wallet full of paper slips!

Generally no, I have tried about 5 or 6 times at different stores and have been told that they can't every time.

It's really fusturating especially since some of my credit slips are starting to fade (and I don't want to use them for a while).

I've had it work once for a total of $78. Ikeep my reciept in an envelope in my room. If you leave slips in your wallet they erase really fast and if they dont have the credit value printed on the back, you're screwed

I leave them in an empty DVD case but that still doesn't help as some slips from January are starting to fade anyway, on one of the credit slips I have for $59.50, for some reason it says only $0.03 on the back! I guess I had better use that one soon

I have thought about writing a letter to FYE corporate explaining the problem with paper store credit slips. Maybe after finals I'll type a letter and send it.

I've bought gift cards using store credit without any hassle.

http://shop.fye.com/product.aspx?sku=50014424&loc=50244

order 4 and get free shipping. And today only, you can save %5 with the code CINCODEMAYO2005. It just negates tax for me, but that deffinitely isnt a bad thing

It's almost sad how easy they make it[/QUOTE]

I'm assuming that the trade-in value has gone down since Dinotopia is only $12 now, can anyone confirm?

The good thing about for anyone who doesn't own it is that Burnout 3 is now $14.99 used. I was tempted to pick it up yesterday but I figured since I rented it for 2 months from Gamefly, I had enough of the game.

[quote name='Mishimaryu']where is Transworld Surf cheap for cube I dont even see it listed on GAMESTOP or EB online page?[/QUOTE]

Amazon.com had it for $10 with free shipping.

Today at FYE:

Transworld Surf $27
SC: CT (Xbox) $19

Used my $10 off coupon and got Republic Commando and Midnight Club 3. Both games were used for $35.99 a piece.

I've gotta tell you guys what happened when i went in to trade today. It might be a YMMV but it seemed to me like it might be credible, seeing as how someone else said something like it.

When i went in to trade, the people who know i get ridiculous amounts of credit from them were all talking about how the system hasn't updated yet and it's giving insane prices still. One of the guys was talking about how when the system updates, the cash price will be in the system and if they want credit it will be multiplied by 1.25. The way they were talking, it seemed as if the values were really going to drop though. Hopefully this is limited to my FYE!

I wouldnt worry about it too much, if it happens it happens. I dont know how some clerks would know anything about it. Everytime they update their prices the old faithfuls always stay the same, I know they updated recently because burnout 3 is only $7.50 now. A while ago when wherehouse.com stopped taking trade in's I was affraid the prices would change to the prices on spun.com, but it never happened.

I still don't understand the point of Spun and Wherehouse having different prices since it's the same company. Wherehouse even says it's powered by Spun

Damn, I almost got a _really_ good trade-in deal this morning! At my local Wherehouse, they're in the process of changing over the trade-in values to be the cash price, instead of the credit price. But, most of the titles haven't been changed yet... It's too bad that I didn't have more reasonably priced games, or the cashier might not have noticed. Oh well, I can't really complain.

GC Transworld Surf - $27 (almost $32.40!)
XB V-Rally 3 - $27 (same)
XB Colin McRae Rally 03 - $18.50 (sigh...)
