Ok, so they're changing over from the credit price to the cash price? That's it? I hope they don't try to screw us over and give the cash price if we want credit..

BIG NEWS AT FYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was at the Southcenter Mall(wa) Fye yesterday & they have a kiosk set up where you can scan items for prices & search for items.

Well i typed in "Marvel vs Capcom" for the Ps2 & Marvel vs Capcom 2 popped up at a $29.99 price point although it wasn't availible in store, BUT THERE'S AN OPTION THAT'S AVAILIBLE WERE YOU CAN GET A CLERK TO ORDER THAT GAME FOR IN-STORE PICK-UP!!!!!!

This is a great option for those more hard to find games.

When Is Fye's Trade In Price Gonna To Drop, I Been Think Order Another 4 Copy Of Transworld Surf And Trade It In But My Exam Is Coming Up Next Week, So I Want To Trade It In After May 20, Also Do They Care If You Trade In More Than 2 Copy Of Same Game. I Already Trade 2 Copy Of Transworld Surf Last Week Already.

Today at Wherehouse:

Transworld Surf x2 $27
Freedom Fighters $7.50
Pitfall (XB) $9
Room Zoom $26

With the B3G1 (used stuff) I got:

The Punisher XB $35
RE4 $35
BO3 XB $15
Mechassault 2 (regular edition) free (priced at $15 just in case anyone was looking for this cheap)

I hope that isn't an English exam you have next week.

I went into wherehouse today to trade some games. I traded:

Transworld Surf $27 + $6.75 = 33.75
NBA Live 2004 $9 + $2.25 = 11.25
Powerdrome PS2 $11 + 2.75 = 13.75

For a total of $58.75

They said the computers changed and now it gives them the CASH price and they have to adjust it for store credit by adding 25%. I should have just taken cash, maybe next time I will just take cash. So, I'm sure this is YMMV, but give it a try. An extra 25% on top of the already inflated prices is pretty good.

OMFG!!!!!!!!
I love love you!!

seems like a YMMV deal the first time I traded in something they gave me cash back last year. Now only store credit isn't cash value suppose to be 20-25% lesser then what they give you in store credit?

Yeah that's how it works at my local store, they give you 80% in cash or the regular trade in price in credit

That's what I am saying. My store had the value correct last week, and they would take like 20% off for cash. But, I went in Yesterday and they said the computer system had been changed, and that now they have to manually ADD 25% to the CASH value that comes up in the computer if you want store credit. They were complaining about what a pain it is now with the new system.

I will be going back sometime this weekend to give it another try. I try not to go there more than once a week. it's the only Wherehouse in town and I don't want to overwhelm them with Transworlds and NBA Live 2004. They have already stopped taking XIII due to too many in stock.

Yesterday at Wherehouse:

Prisoner of War $7.50
Transworld Surf $27
Shadow Ops $22.19

Man I wish I would have gotten the cash prices for those trade-ins. But oh well you can't win'em all.

Used the credit the at FYE today to get:

RE2 GC (used) $30 it had a $35 price tag and rang up for $30.
OddWorld Stranger's Wrath $30

damn, transworld surf was sold out so the new price is 49.99. i should of order 4 more copys monday from amazon.com instead of worrying about fye.
by the way i do have a english exam next week, tell you guys th truth it is the only final i am worrying, besides physic and calc II.
My FYE is also adding 20% to their already insane values!!

FreeStyle Soccer Xbox $20.40
FreeStyle Soccer GC $20.40
Room Zoom Xbox $31.20
Is this at all FYEs or do I have to ask (tell them) about it?

The best part about the price going up is the little ``New Low Price'' logo. It looks like v-rally 3 went up too ($27.94 from TRU now).

I just had my first `we can't accept your scratched disc' mail from wherehouse.com. I know for a fact that the damned disc wasn't scratched, as it was a brand new copy that I'd never even played... I can't wait to see what condition it comes back in. Oh well, I guess it'll have to be EB trade-in fodder now, unless they really scratch the hell out of it.

What game got rejected? Asking because if it's something other than Time Spiltters, I may reconsider sending in more games if they are going to reject anything high value if it's scratch free.

Army Men: Sarge's War for the GC, which would have been $27.

just a quick question. Do they need the manual ? my local BB doesn't have the manual and was wondering if that was going to give me any problems ?

Yes. They are pretty picky about the condition and the completeness of games traded in.
what is the trade in value for Army Men: Sarge's War GC in FYE
$7.50

ok thanks i am also wonder do they care about the condition of the case? If it doesnt matter i want to swap in some used game case from EB.
i called my local fye and they told me, it is 27
Check wherehouse.com The prices listed there are what you get at fye. There are 2 different upc's for Army men. One is 27 one is 7.50. Most people have the 7.50 version as the 27 one is hard to find.

You have to check the UPC code. So, if you are looking for it on ebay, ask the seller to send you the upc code. Then go to wherehouse.com and the upc code is listed for each game.

If a upc/game doesnt come up does that mean they wont take it in store as well?
If a upc/game doesnt come up does that mean they wont take it in store as well?
If that happens just ask the clerk to look it up manually. I've had to do this with 3 copies of Malice.

Yeah, but I mean if it doesnt come up manually on wherehouse.com does that mean it wont come up at FYE either?

everything I have tried to trade in at FYE has been the same value at wherehouse and vice versa, along with Malice (and it not being in the system). So as far as I know the two stores are exactly the same.

YMMV that you can actually get a clerk to look up a game manually. I have had a horrible run lately getting employees to look up stuff, they all refuse to do it. Maybe its just a seattle FYE thing though.

I tried trading it in to a FYE and it scanned $7.50. YMMV, I guess.

Yep, depends on the clerk. I've had them tell me they couldn't take games if they didn't scan (specifically Malice). Just try it again a different day with a different clerk, or at another store.

BTW, anyone traded in Evil Dead for PS2 lately?

If you can get them to put malice in manually, you are golden. This is a definite YMMV as neither my FYE or Wherehouse will put anything in manually. I have tried different clerks, and they all say too bad so sad.

Update on the inflated values. I went this weekend and got the following in CASH!

Transworld Surf GC $27
EOE PS2 $7.50
NBA Live 2004 xb $9
Egg Mania XB $18
ESPN NHL Hockey XB $15

For a total of $76.50

I would have gotten 20% more if I wanted store credit. I hope they keep these values. With getting full price for cash, I don't know If I will ever get store credit again. :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :applause:

just found this out, if you guys already know, sorry for the repost.

Gamecrazy will price match other stores trade in values as part of their "best deal on trades guarantee." I just called the one near me and they said that the call the other store to verify their price, but I asked if I could bring in reciepts and they said that was ok.

I kept all my reciepts from FYE trades over the months, so now this might be a great new way to unload freestyle soccers and room zooms. PLUS gamecrazy isn't as strict about games being complete.

I haven't tried it yet but it sounds like it might work

I think it might be a problem to get a price match on Room Zoom with the receipt since it comes up as O.C. Racing at FYE on the receipt.

I had the same thing happen with transworld, I took pics of the game and the packing process as well (due to an earlier screw up by them on another trade i did) i did send on another transworld 2 weeks back and I wonder if they are making excuses to not take in games. if thats the case I am SOL since they do not send back games that have been rejected (according to their site).

I've had wherehouse.com reject two games, and both were questionably scratched. They accepted three TimeSplitters and two Army Men, so if they're making excuses they're not doing a very good job! Also, both rejected games were promptly mailed back to me (FedEx! ).

Okay, who traded in 5(?!) copies of Transworld Surf Next Wave at the Strawberries in Downtown Boston? They wouldn't take mine

I have never seen so many copies of that game at once anywhere, not even on a webpage. I got $24.04 for Paper Mario and I asked about the extra 20% for the credit option but that store has switched back to cash only. Normally I'd be happy but I want to trade in my stuff to put towards Stella Deus (which was sold out!).
