1) i have used both credit slips at each other's B&M store without a problem. In fact I took about 6 FYE slips to wherehouse to get a PSP and they were really cool about it.
I used to ONLY get giftcards with credit from wherehouse until just the other day, and I have been able to sweettalk my way into a couple at FYE. (ask if you can use the credit for online purchase, they say no, ask if a gift card can, they say yes and then try to get them to let you "buy" one with your credit slip)
Gamecrazy rocks, im going again today with a couple print outs... wayy less hassel than dealing with the non-gamers at FYE.
GameCrazy's price matching is yet another scam. I went in with six games today and six wherehouse printouts. At the first the sales kid did not know of such a deal, so he called his manager. So Manager says yup, we price match. I give the games and printouts to the clerk, who looks at the wherehouse price and compares it to his price and tells me, these prices are to high, they are higher than our sell price, I need to call the manager again. OK I say, the rest of the story is obvious, instant back tracking, er... we can only price match sales ads, these printouts are not good enough, and we can not price match above our sell price. So I say, can I speak to the manager. Er.... No, I'm not allowed to hand you the phone.
So I have the DM's info, and I will follow up on Monday. I cannot beleive how dishonest these price match agreements are. My freind at GR told me they too, supposedly price match. I would be interesting to hear any stories on attempts there. NCAA 2005 March Madness 2005 is the best bet, it's 20.19$ on the wherehouse site, and trades in for 12$ at GR.
