I think EVERYBODY takes great delight in the woes of the Cowboys.
Other good news:
VIKINGS WIN!
Call me fucking insane, but I'm starting not to hate Brad Childress. He's doing something write. Right now I'm at the "Moderate Hate" state, which is the highest I've ever been. If we beat the Packers next week, it'll become "Strong Dislike". THAT WOULD BE AWESOME.

Other awesome news: I'm 10-2 in pick'em this week (11-2 if Indy wins) and I can win 30 bucks in my pool this week :)
I take great delight when someone misspells easy words like "Right".
David Thomas just gave the Colts the game.
Yea, I was getting frustrated with how the Colts defense was letting the Pats just keep truckin' on them, and that mistake by Thomas threw a wrench in the Pats plans, which I thoroughly enjoyed :D

The other thing I have yet to understand is why Bellicheck ran down the field to call a timeout on 4th and 1. I'm glad he did, because that negated their first down, but it was just very uncharacteristic of him, it's like he second-guessed himself.

When I see somebody taking notice, I can't help but laugh at my stupidity.

What a rough game to watch (come back soon, Brady--not fond of this dink and dunk, no over-the-top offense watching Colts and Pats). What I'm wondering is: How the hell is Gaffney still on the team? It seems I most remember him for his big drops (I think he had one in the Chargers/Pats game one season--amongst a whole bunch of other big drops). He had it and that was a TD.

Anyway, we likely won't see another Colts/Pats game next year right? For some reason, I'm under the impression that these games are scheduled between the division champs of the previous season right?

So yeah the division champs play each other, 2nd best in division play each other and so on.

Gaffney really hasn't had any Big Drops per say. I think you're thiking of Reeche Caldwell.

I suspect the league will find a way to make sure there is a Pats/Colts game next season. There's too much money/ratings/etc involved for the league to not have at least one match up between the two.

Damn, I hope Titans can go all the way. I'd like to see them get a perfect record. IMO, Kerry Collins is a better QB even though his stats suck. Young is over-rated and I'm glad the coach benched him.
Just because I support the Colts doesn't make what I said any less valid. Hell if your hate for Manning wasn't so blinding, you'd realize that. There wasn't much, if any, bit of fanatiscism in what I said. That's pretty much all you can do, 'cause no matter what, someone's gonna find a way to shit on your team, perfect start or not.

Edit: That might sound confrontational, but I'm not trying to be btw, Soodmeg. I thought you had stated previously that you do, in fact, hate Manning.
It was just a friendly joke because the Colts are actually the Titans rival. I actually didnt think about Manning when I said that.....although I do indeed at Manning with the power of a thousand suns.

And watching them struggle and lose is just making my football year.

Also, shitting on other peoples teams is 40% of what football is and as a Titans fan a lot was thrown my way. We havent been good since we lost the Superbowl by 1 yard.

Titans have been good, but they've been lost in the incredibly competitive AFC. This looks to be their year, though.

How about them Browns? ugh

Couldn't the Colts/Patriots happen if the AFC East and AFC South are due to play each other next year? Though I don't think its out of the question both could be second place in their divisions either.

I can't remember the last time I watched a Giants-Cowboys game and had no doubt about the outcome from the opening drive of the game. They aren't playing particularly well (Eli - 2 fumbles and an INT) but they are still bringing it.

If the Giants weren't making mistakes, it could be have been 100x worse.

The cowboys have problems.

1. Coach is too soft
2. Players are un-inspired
3. Dumb penalties
4. Backup QB can't throw
5. O-Line can't protect
6. D-Line can't tackle - can only bump with shoulders and grab jerseys
7. CB plays 7-10 yards off
8. Offensive calls predictable since 1 dimensional ( see point 4 ).
9. Injuries

Did I miss anything?

Also, for anyone who watched the Giants/Cowboys - what was up with the personal foul on Justin Tuck for "tackling the QB to the ground"??? Isn't that the point of football? He didn't lead with his helmet at all. They are killing the game with all these ridiculous rules to protect the QB...

He tackled him and drove him in the ground with all his weight.

I know - it is an insane "rule" that could be applied to every other tackle made in the game. He wrapped his arms around him and then used his body weight to bring him to the ground. I can't believe the Rules Committee sat around and debated this and that it actually came to pass. Leading with the helmet I can live with but this is completely nuts.

Well Bollinger was airborn when he was passing the ball. He was still in air as Tuck was tackling him making it look and feel worse then if Brooks had his feet planted. It was Brooks fault really for jumping while passing.

I have to say this since it's bugging me. Does Eli Manning have some sort of down syndrome?

Overpaid for Roy Williams. Thank you Dallas. Although, I cannot talk....I'm a Lions fan.

Also, there is speculation that Culpepper could START on Sunday already. Orlovsky has a hurt hand apparently.
Anderson has been benched and Quinn has been named the started for the Browns.
Doesn't matter who is throwing the ball, the Wide Outs will still drop the passes.
Does Eli Manning have some sort of down syndrome?
yeah, touchdown syndrome. \\:D/ 3TDs in only 27 attempts yesterday.

Thanks folks I'll be here all night and don't forget to tip your waitress.

According to the rules, that was actually a good call. I remember James Harrison, I'm pretty sure, was called for that same penalty last year.

But we all realize that its a BS rule.
God what pathetic FF QB options I had this week. Big Ben or Brett "pick 6" Favre...
Yeah well, I had to put in Schaub since Brees and Rivers were on byes.

Pulled out another ff victory this week.. 3-6 is my shitty record :(

Sucks to lose orton as he was doing good.. now i have to choose between trent edwards, pennington, or brady quinn (too soon) to start

I'm glad the Steelers won last night. If the Giants can beat the Eagles this week they will be in GREAT shape for the division (they are actually 3 point underdogs right now which is awesome).

The Giants are due for a loss here...They got lucky with Pittsburgh

too many superstars.. not enough grunts...
The Giants are due for a loss here...They got lucky with Pittsburgh
Right. 4 INTs and 5 sacks by the defense was pure luck. ;)

If the Eagles win this week, it can easily change their season around. These past few wins have been pretty tight/close despite the scores. It doesn't feel like 5-3.
Right. 4 INTs and 5 sacks by the defense was pure luck. ;)
4 ints and 5 sacks.. but a long snapper getting injured gave them the tie and a possession for the winning drive.
4 ints and 5 sacks.. but a long snapper getting injured gave them the tie and a possession for the winning drive.
True but you could also say that the 65 yard TD (accounting for at least 1/3 of their entire passing yardage) was lucky... or the 32 yard rushing TD (accounting for at least 1/3 of their entire rushing yardage) was lucky. Without those 2 plays it would have been a shutout!

Most games in the NFL turn on one or two key plays. I'd only call it luck if there is some crazy tipped ball returned for a TD or if the refs practically hand the game to someone *cougheaglesfalconscough*

Come on Eagles, go all the way to the Superbowl baby. I've got $20 to $2 on it.

As long as McNabb stays consistent then I think we have a legitimate chance
As long as Westbrook stays consistent then I think we have a legitimate chance
Fixed. Granted, McNabb probably does have to stay healthy but Westbrook is their entire offense. God I hate the Eagles.

Finally. He got a little bit of time after the win over the Giants, but they need a kick in the ass if they want to salvage this season.

Then they need new WR's. Wasn't all Anderson's fault. I personally blame a really shitty Braylon Edwards. How many drops does this dude have so far? I'm sure he is going to set a record for most dropped balls in one season.

Wasn't saying it was all his fault, but the offense as a whole was sluggish for most of the season and needed some new blood to freshen things up. They've been mostly injured or not playing well this season, which doesn't help anything at all.

I honestly don't think Quinn will be the answer. He will not make any type of impact. I only expect this to ruin his image ( Since thats what most think he is as of now ) as the Future QB of the Browns. Just look at the Browns luck with start young QB's. Charlie Frye and Tim Couch.......

I hope it doesn't happen to him but I think it will. He's not ready to play.

or I can say that 2 ints were ricochets and were lucky bounces... because they were..

btw.. Quinn is not the answer when you have a crappy secondary, shoddy line, a 1 dimensional RB, and receivers who drop on average 3-5 passes a game...
or I can say that 2 ints were ricochets and were lucky bounces... because they were..
That's my point! You can look at every play as lucky - a missed tackle, a fortunate bounce, a questionable call, etc. The Giants beat the Steelers because they were better that day. I still think the Steelers are a top 3 team in the league though (behind the Titans and Giants).
