He's 2nd. No one can compete with Fitz. That dude really turned it on towards the end of the year. He's a beats and no one can cover him. Even the DB's in Philly ( Which I think Philly has one of the best secondaries in the NFL ).

I would also like to apologize to DJ Steel and Primetime ( or any other Steeler fan ) I may have offended yesterday. I was a little bitter about everything. But yea, they deserve to be in the Super Bowl. Their Defense is really good.

I am hoping for a great SB. I actually think the Steelers will win this game due to their defense. I am really looking forward to seeing what the Cards offense can do against the Steelers D. Big Ben just needs to have a decent game. He can't play like he did in his last Super Bowl apperance. I'm sure the running game will be there for Parker as well.

The key for the Steelers to win IMO is that their D just needs to play like it has played all season. Stop the run. Defend against the pass. And play better special teams.

The key for the Cards to win IMO is they need to try and establish a running game. I doubt they will run against the Steelers any who but they can't just give up on it either. Protecting Warner and giving him time to throw. The Eagles proven if you rush or rattle Warner he will just fold. Need to pressure Big Ben on defense. Their Defense needs to show up like it did for most of the playoffs.

Post your Keys of Victory for each team if you'd like, anybody.
no problem chief..

Keys to victory for Arizona-
Keep Warner Up
Establish the Run game
try to somehow take a weapon away from Big Ben

Keys for the steelers
hit warner every chance they get
Keep Big Ben Up
get Willie Parker/Mewelde Moore to set the tone early to let the pass game open up for the rest of the game.
Dont let Arizona establish anything on defense. Keep them on the field as long as possible.

i think those are the obvious ones that everyone will say i think.

if the cards win, it will go down as one of the best stories of all time.

I thought it would have been nice to play another one bites the dust.....I kid i kid..

No thats just lame. I hear music being played all the time while people are hurt. Its to keep the fans calmed down so they don't start booing. I don't think its that big of a deal.
Bad move by the Heinz field sound crew during the McGahee injury. I'm betting someone gets canned.

http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/01/18/heinz-field-sound-crew-badly-mishandled-mcgahee-injury/
Get the hell out of here with that. (toward the writer of story not you Jeeper;))

Yeah, I am sure that the Pitt sound crew where chomping at the bit just waiting for someone to get hurt so that can play some degrading music.

You know for Football and Baseball to be so manly I am always surprised at just how pussy people around the sports can be. Can you be any more overly sensitive?

1. Both a Ravens and a Pitt player was hurt.
2. I could have sworn BOTH teams came onto the field and prayed.
3. Sound crews dont have any control over what they play or when...if they are told to play a song at a certain time they play it regardless of what is happening on the field. Blaming them for doing their job is just silly.
4. When Big Ben got hurt and was lying on the ground they also played music and his looked worse than Willis.
5. Get the fuck over it. The music isnt going to make Willis less hurt or more hurt. And have 70 thousand people sitting in silence staring at a motionless person doesnt sound that appealing either.

Now the only thing I can understand is not mentioning him during the trophy presentation. But when you think about it why would they? There are tons of injuries like that every year and the other team rarely talks about them seconds after in a post game interview.

Also, do you know how scripted those presentations are? Everything is pre-planned to the very second and they have like what? 6 min for everything. I can completely understand why no one would ad lib 30 seconds (which is a long time) to show concern for a player.

It kills me every time how in a sport as violent as football people still get really surprised when someone get hurt. Real life is not a movie, when someone gets hurt there is no slow motion replay, the stadium doesnt fall silent, fans dont stand up in their seats with looks of grave concern.

*YAWN* at the sound crew story.

People seem to look for something to offend them. I swear, this country can be full of babies.

I really hate the two week delay before the SB. Every member of the media has to crank out stupid stories that, in terms of the actual game, don't matter.

im a raven fan and even i agree,l whats the big deal? yea maybee they could have chosen a better song but who the fuck really cares, i agree that it probobly would have been worse to play nothing, and for that guy in the thread to try and start shit over a few songs is just rediculous(not the guy who posted the link in this thread the other site). ITS FOOTBALL they play music all throughout the game those people being offended by this need to get the hell over it. it happens during almost every long injury, as other people said to try and keep the fans calm.

Really, there's music played for every single stoppage of play, besides between downs. Time outs, injury time outs, change of possession.

Both teams were taking hard shots at eachother, and honestly, how is this a story over the late (like 20 seconds late) hit on Kurt Warner during the other game.
And yet they fail the to remember Suggs bragging about putting a bounty on Rashard Mendenhall earlier this year...
Yeah, I actually forgot about that. And you know what else I forgot....when Ed Reed was trying to bend Chris Johnson backwards after the play was over in the Titans game.

Whats that about classy?

MAN I fuckING HATE BANDWAGON FANS!!!!! i hate them so fucking bad root for a team when there winning and as soon as they loose a fucking game start running your mouth saying they suck and bum ass ravens and shit. IHATE IT! if you dont want to root for a fucking team all the time then got watch something else cuz football isnt for you.you should pick your fucking team and stick with it through good and bad. not to mention we made it to the last playoff game with a rookie qb and coach so it was not a bad season, was a great seasonb, NO BODY expected to see us that far into the playoffs. anyway sorry about that 1 of my friends is a real bandwagon fan and i had to rant a little bit cuz hes pissing me off.

As crazy as this rant is, I agree completely. It is the main reason why I hate the Eagles. Every Eagles fan I know completely gave up on them this year after the Ravens game but were right back on board once they snuck into the playoffs. You either root for a team or you don't. God knows how many games I watched Dave Brown behind center for a 4-12 or 6-10 team. We would get behind 7-0 and all of a sudden it's a 3 score game to catch up. Ugh.
I have been a Steelers fan all my life (and a co-season ticket holder for the last 10 years) but feel it would be jusified for the Cards to win just to prove that Ken Whisenhunt or Russ Grimm would have been a better choice as a head coach over Mike Tomlin. I can not stand Tomlin I think he was hired by the Steelers because they painted themselves in a corner with their so called "Rooney Rule". I don't think he was qualified to be a head coach as of yet, and watching him on the sidelines during the games he seems to do next to nothing. Also they needed to hire a offensive minded coach like Whisenhunt and not one with a defensive background like Tomlin as long as the Steelers were going to keep their defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau in place.
I forgot to reply to this and I'm really surprised no one responded, but all I can say is  Yeah, sounds like a real fan who, in some part, wants their team to lose the championship game. Also, for being a Steelers fan all your life, did you really expect offense to be the main focus? Go run and gun?

I don't really see how you can criticize Tomlin for the job he's done so far, especially by pointing to the color of his skin. That's just ridiculous to me. The Rooney rule doesn't require teams to hire black coaches-go look it up. And, just for the record, your boy Whisenhunt took off before the final decision was made.

He's taken a team that is far from perfect through the toughest regular season schedule to the Super Bowl, including defeating a strong division rival 3 times (a rival that absolutely stomped Pittsburgh not too long ago).

And I don't know what you want him to do on the sidelines...or should he just suit up and go play?

I agree with you man. that is a ridiculous statement.. how can you justify changing decisions on a head coach who has done what Tomlin has done?? I am not sure Whisenhunt could have done any better...

Man, if the Cardinals win that would be amazing, I started rooting for them ever since they made the playoffs, and I'm pretty sure Warner is loving it. Fitzgerald is a BEAST, can't be said enough.

Sure Tomlin has done a great job but you actually could say he inherited a great team. I'd say Whisenhunt would have had the same success.

Reminds me of Barry Switzer winning a Super Bowl coaching the Cowboys. What a terrible head coach he was...

Tomlin inherited an 8-8 team, Whisenhunt inherited a 5-11 team... Tomlin improved by 2 wins, Whisenhunt 3.., this season, Tomlin improved by 2 wins and Whisenhunt 1..

Ah for some reason I thought Cowher retired after they won the Super Bowl. I didn't know Cowher had a 8-8 season in 06. My bad.

heh.. yeah.. he was in Shutdown mode since he wasn't going to get a big pay day from the Rooneys. He wanted 10 mil + full control.. they said no.. he didn't coach at all that year.. it kind of trickled down to Alan Faneca who was also in negotiations with the Rooneys. He wanted a big pay day as well and they couldn't do it.

Maybe, but I do think Tomlin is the perfect fit for the personality of the team. The players and the rest of the organization obviously respects him too. Anyway, I wasn't really arguing that Whiz wouldn't have done as well, but I was mostly just addressing the claims the other poster made.
bandwagon..lol
Who me? The teams I rooted for are all gone, and I always try to cheer on the underdog, plus watching the Cards play is kinda fun, and they need this after such a long drought. Either way, it's a win-win, I like the Steelers also, but I'm rooting for the Cards to win it all.

What I was trippin' out on was right after they beat the Eagles, they showed Asante Samuel getting all excited with one of the Cardinal players, jumping around and smiling, I guess they knew each other or something, haha.

Yea, that was pretty odd, but then I saw a couple other Eagle players just chillin', looking like they were having a good time, so it just got weirder o_O

G'damn....I wish the Cowboys organization would focus on Football instead of all this nonsense.

Who needs a reality show in Dallas? We already have the biggest drama show year in and out.

Oh dont say that....it gets the Dallas fans in the thread all worked up that maybe the players they have are not as good as they think they are.

He wasn't in shutdown mode. He had a QB who was an idiot and rode his motorcycle without a helmet. That QB played the next season and was a turnover machine.

And Barry Switzer is the reason that the Cowboys need to fire Wade and bring in Mike Shanahan. One can instill discipline and the other cannot.

It wasn't the motorcycle accident but the Appendectomy that hampered him physically during the season.. he wasn't ready to come back and he forced it.. I watched every game of that agonizing season.. not once did Cowher get in players faces, publically show as much emotion as the season before. Yes the motorcycle didn't help but Cowher shut it down that season...

QFT... said it perfectly... especially the part about the Rooney rule, the steelers defied expectations by hiring him, they werent painted in a corner or predictable like so many other teams, thats why I love this team more than any other in professional sports they do make good choices that are well thought over and not dictated by media or fans... they dont overpay for past their prime free agents, they run a very stable operation (how many teams would have stuck with Cowher after that stretch of missing the playoffs that he had... ), they are generally very good about not keeping headcases in their team (Bengals... cough), getting rid of Plaxico and keeping Ward is about as smart as it comes... the only other team I see in the NFL that is run as well as the steelers with the results to match is the Patriots

I was reading alot of people online root for the cardinals, because they were saying how much tougher of a road they had to get here than the steelers... and I mentioned the schedule the steelers played to the tune of 12-4... playing every one of the AFC playoff teams from last year, AND the tough NFC east, which sent the max 3 teams in the playoffs last year. And I also argued that Baltimore was a tougher foe than Philly, though they were both great teams.

The Cardinals story is very nice and they had a hell of a run and time to get hot... but there is not way I will be happy if they win tonight... Steelers all the way

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY!
Best of luck to both teams!
I don't care who wins, but I'm on Arizona's side (gotta support the NFC I guess :) )
As long as the point total is 41, the Steelers can win for all I care!

Well, this is it, after this we only have the long dark days of Baseball to look forward to until August :/

I got shit on in the pool at work, Steelers 9, Arizona 2

There's always the draft, which is good fuel for another 2 months of trash-talking.
If you like it, that's cool, but I'm looking for something entertaining to watch.
I'm pretty sure the lingerie bowl is gone  :)
Calling it now:

Arizona Cardinals, World Champions
Ditto that, the Steelers defense does their best to hold the Cards offense in check, but their kick-off and punt coverage lets them down.

Steelers-17
Cards-31
Got Pittsburgh covering the spread of 7.....31-10....honestly James Harrison might kill Kurt Warner
With the way the NFL has let O-Lineman hold Harrison all year and with Warners quick release it will be very hard to get to him.
