The Wings won tonight. It was a pretty tight game most of the way. Jimmy was solid the whole night and made a few key saves in the 2nd and early in the 3rd.

the first 2 periods were close. but the wings just dominated the 3rd. its going to be very very tough for the coyotes to win in detroit for game 6. doan being out sure doesnt help, id be surprised if he doesnt play.

WOW!!!

Can't believe that douche Kane tied up the game with 13 seconds to go in the 3rd period.

I think this might be the best playoffs I've seen in the last 5 years.

Great goal by Kane, short handed and is now sending the game into OT! Bad bad play by Hossa, but at least we still have a shot in overtime.

Edit: HAWKS WIN!! Great goal by Hossa, what a great game! Now back to Nashville which won't be an easy match, Nashville has really pushed this series to the limits.

Hah what a complete meltdown by Nashville! Chicago is obviously the superior team and they deserved to win today, but what a crazy way to do it.

I hope Vancouver and Chicago both win their series and meet each other in the second round. I want revenge for last year.........
All I know is Nashville has to be pissed big time.
Certainly. But they were COMPLETELY outplayed by Chicago and it would have been a travesty if they won the game. And this is coming from someone that abhors Chicago. (Love Toews though!) :applause:
Should I be shocked that the Senators blew a 3-0 lead at home in a do or die game 6?
Just goes to show you that playing a defensive style will get you burned and destroyed. Thank god that era is dead.

It worked wonders for the Devils against the Penguins. Too bad their first round opponent was the Flyers XD

Phoenix up 5-1 in the 3rd against the Wings. What a disgusting showing at home for Detroit in game 6. Coyotes force a game 7 at home.

You didn't seem to feel that way when the Kings outplayed the Canucks in game 4 and then lost the game.

If the Kings lose tonight, I swear to God, I will... shave.

Somehow, I never noticed before, but Alexander Frolov has a lot of grey hair on his chin, and he's only about to turn 28. But he did score his first playoff goal.

Time to shave.

But anyways it was a hell of a fucking series by the Kings. They are a super amazing team with a hell of a future. Great job by the Kings!

Indeed.

Tonight's game was very depressing, but the series was a great one. Essentially, every game except for game 5 was decided by 1 goal. There were the 2 overtime games, of course, and tonight's game as well as the other 2 two-goal games only ended up that way due to empty-netters.

I'm not trying to discount Vancouver's ability or accomplishments whatsoever, but although the series was dead even for the most part and the Canucks were very good, the Kings lost that series just as much as the Canucks won it, if not more. LA blew both games 4 and 6, each with 2-3 minutes left in the game. Chalk it up to inexperience.

But tonight, Luongo was on. That glove save while he was flailing around on his back was the save of the playoffs thus far. And the Kings had so many excellent scoring chances throughout the game, yet Luongo stopped 31 of 33 shots.

As for J-Quick, only the second goal was really his fault, since he fumbled the save. The third Vancouver goal was just a great setup, rapidly cycling the puck, and then recovering from a broken stick to put it in the net. The first Canucks goal came on a very lucky bounce.

The Kings definitely outplayed the Canucks in the first 2 periods, but Vancouver was excellent in their comeback in the third, while the Kings defense completely shit the bed. Vancouver seemed to be in the Kings' zone for the whole damn period. Also, Vancouver completely shut down what has been the best power play in the playoffs, killing all 5 penalties.

Although the way it all went down is pretty hard to swallow, the Kings had a very good season that exceeded most people's expectations. They will only get better from here. The future is bright... though it would be a lot brighter if they could get another good goal scorer.

As I said, it was a great series for both teams. Kudos to the Kings for a very good season, and to the Canucks for getting it done when it matters most. I have a lot of respect for the Canucks.

Wings were barf at home today and were badly outplayed. Well it's game 7 time. We'll see who wants it more.

Kings have a bright future ahead. Nucks with the top line rolling and Lu playing good are damn strong.

I'm not sure how the Canucks will do in the next round, since they'll probably face the Blackhawks. The 'Hawks are a better team on paper, and I was sold on them winning the Western Conference this year, but after the way they have looked against Nashville, I'm not so sure. I'd call a Vancouver/Chicago series a toss-up.

I want Chicago in the next round BAD.

We owe them for last year, and after the way they've shown they can barely hold their own against one of the most anemic offensive teams in the west, I think we'd beat them.

Kane needs to get that idiotic mouth guard of his shoved down his throat.

My prediction: Kane decides that, on the day between games 3 and 4 in Vancouver, he wants to visit the beautiful city of Victoria. On the ferry ride over to Vancouver Island, whomever collects the fares doesn't have a loonie to hand him back as change. Kane punches the man and chokes him out. Kane is then apprehended by the RCMP, is put in a box, and is locked away in a warehouse- somewhere in Kamloops- like the Ark of the Covenant.

I'm pretty worried for game 6, those Blackhawks are damn persistent.
Preds have been remarkable when you consider their best scorer has missed virtually the entire series. I really hope that Hornqvist is back in the lineup tomorrow.
GO PREDS, I hope it won't be the last time in a long while that I'll be wearing my Preds shirt :D

I see the Cansucks going maybe one more round, they are a still a place holder team just a better one than last year. Especially if Luongo sucks. Depending on who they play, I see a long 6 game series. Watch... next round is completely different and they win in 4... :\

Hawk's goaltending is what is gonna kill them this round or next.

I'd love to see NSH vs SJ and PHX vs VAN.
Nashville needs to win a freaking playoff series first though. Then they can get revenge for failing twice vs the Sharks in round one.
If Nashville is out Ill have to jump on the Canucks bandwagon because they're Canadian. And if Phoenix loses people will stop caring and they can come straight to Hamilton. I can dream.
Sorry Matt, I told you Vancouver is just too good this season for the Kings to beat.

I was rooting for the Kings, though.

Game 7 bitchez!
That's not really true, though. Had the Kings not blown games 4 and 6 in the last few minutes, they would have won the series 4-2. And that's not counting the fact that 1 goal in overtime would have given them a game 1 victory as well.

And it was a beautiful thing. While I don't have much confidence in Phoenix's ability to get the job done at home, I certainly hope they will.

shieryda, He clearly didn't meet the requirement. Check chart #2.

PHI vs NJ (Flyers win 4-1)
BOS vs BUF (Bruins lead 3-2)
PIT vs OTT (Penguins win 4-2)

Western Conference 1st Round
SJ vs COL (Sharks win 4-2)
NAS vs CHI (Blackhawks lead 3-2)
LA vs VAN (Canucks win 4-2)

The Sharks, Red Wings, and Coyotes are my most hated teams after the Ducks, and I used to live in Illinois. So, now that the Kings are out, go Blackhawks! I guess... :whistle2:\

Take solace in the fact that the Kings pretty much have nothing but up-side potential after this season. San Jose is not going to stay on top forever, and I would look for LA to fill that role nicely. The Ducks aren't going to do squat, and this season is almost certainly a fluke for Phoenix. Baby steps, my friend.

If the Hawks lose this series, I am fully prepared to wear my Predators jersey for the duration that they're in the playoffs (though I hope that won't happen).

They aren't going to be taking the Pacific anytime soon.
