But anyways it was a hell of a

ing series by the Kings. They are a super amazing team with a hell of a future. Great job by the Kings![/QUOTE]
Indeed.
Tonight's game was very depressing, but the series was a great one. Essentially, every game except for game 5 was decided by 1 goal. There were the 2 overtime games, of course, and tonight's game as well as the other 2 two-goal games only ended up that way due to empty-netters.
I'm not trying to discount Vancouver's ability or accomplishments whatsoever, but although the series was dead even for the most part and the Canucks were very good, the Kings lost that series just as much as the Canucks won it, if not more. LA blew both games 4 and 6, each with 2-3 minutes left in the game. Chalk it up to inexperience.
But tonight, Luongo was
on. That glove save while he was flailing around on his back was the save of the playoffs thus far. And the Kings had so many excellent scoring chances throughout the game, yet Luongo stopped 31 of 33 shots.
As for J-Quick, only the second goal was really his fault, since he fumbled the save. The third Vancouver goal was just a great setup, rapidly cycling the puck, and then recovering from a broken stick to put it in the net. The first Canucks goal came on a very lucky bounce.
The Kings definitely outplayed the Canucks in the first 2 periods, but Vancouver was excellent in their comeback in the third, while the Kings defense completely shit the bed. Vancouver seemed to be in the Kings' zone for the whole damn period. Also, Vancouver completely shut down what has been the best power play in the playoffs, killing all 5 penalties.
Although the way it all went down is pretty hard to swallow, the Kings had a very good season that exceeded most people's expectations. They will only get better from here. The future is bright... though it would be a lot brighter if they could get another good goal scorer.
As I said, it was a great series for both teams. Kudos to the Kings for a very good season, and to the Canucks for getting it done when it matters most. I have a lot of respect for the Canucks.
