Just following the score on ESPN gamecast while playing Fallout 3. Not looking good after one, down 10 early in the 2nd, 3 fouls for Nelson. :(

What happened to Rondo?

Rondo came down the lane fast, went up for a layup, Howard went to block, rondo came down hard on his back. He is currently courtside laying on his stomach with ice on his back.

I might be doing the same thing real soon. We are getting lazy.

Talk about dirty... love the cheapshot by KG... shoving Redick in the back in the loose ball chase down.

New Note: That's a bullsh*t flagrant. Nelson made a play for the ball.
Honestly with the way the game is going I'd prefer Rondo to stay resting. Go Celtics!
They're playing better with Nate, Rondo's leg has been bothering him and he hasn't had the same quickness. Plus they're still playing Nate like he's Rondo.

So Nate has been the difference so far in the game. Vince Carter carried the Magic in the first half, especially the second quarter. Still trying to figure that one out.

Magic only down 13 now after being down 21. 24 minutes is a still a long time to go to cut into that lead.

Yeah, just about turned off the gamecast when it got up to 21. I'll take down 13 in the half, need to come out strong in the third.

Have to give the Celtics some credit. Came out fighting to start the second half and turned a 13 point lead into a 22 point lead in only 4 minutes. Magic are a fucking joke.

Gamecast is closed. Glad I stuck to my laurels not to watch unless it got to a game 7 after the game 2 loss.

Hope the Suns can knock of the Lakers so I at least can root for Nash to get a ring in the Finals. Lakers win and I'm done with basketball until next season.

Sorry Magic fans but your window for being an Elite team is closing quick. Always going to be an upper team with Howard but alot of teams are going to retool/revamp this off season and improve 10 fold. Cream of the crop in the Eastern Conference should rise even more as single star teams (Heat, Bulls) will become two star teams and take away from the other single star teams.

Wow, I am really glad I stayed up to watch this so very entertaining game.

Also, Dafoomie, get the hell out of here with that woe is boston bullshit. Looking across all the major sports Boston has like the 2nd most championships of all fucking time. How you consistently try to take a Boston is the Underdog approach is beyond me.

The Magic are a complete embarrassment. I dont know what you do with a team like this. Clearly they can make it deep into the play offs but then they get gutted when the real pressure is on. Can you really blow this team up? (Find a way to get rid of Lewis!!!!)

I said that "I'm sick of seeing the Celtics win all the time" is complete bullshit because they were a horrible franchise for 15 to 20 years before 08. How can you already be sick of one team whose brief window had only begun two years ago? Were you sick of the Pistons a few years ago after their one title?

But, whatever. Haters gonna hate.

 I love you Dafoomie.

Yea, we get it man but still in the rankings of, "woe is us," Boston doesnt even register. We have teams that have never had a winning record before and cities that have never had one of their teams go to a finals let alone win have 33 of them.

Its just slightly amusing when your city is sitting north of 30 championships to complain about how one of your teams hit a lull between winning. All I am saying.

I'm not complaining. But I don't know how you can be sick of watching a team win "all the time" who has likely only won once in your lifetime, or at least in the time that you can remember. It doesn't make sense.

The Celtics aren't a good team now because of the past. They lost out on the Kevin Durant lottery and they moved heaven and earth for a 3 year window. Its not like the league rigged a draft for them or anything.

The entire face of the league is going to change with all the big name free agents, and the lockout coming in 11-12.

Meh, Its not a big deal, I really could care less who wins as long as it isnt the Lakers.

Although what you say is true, my opinion is probably has nothing to do with the C's anyway. I am just really sick of the NBA for a number of reasons. This entire playoffs was completely boring and predictable.

Congrats C's. Beat LA, I probably wont even watch the finals.

By the way, I have this nagging voice in my head that says with how crappy this season has been that most of the FA will stay on the same teams. I hope that doesnt happen. You guys hear baout this meeting that the superstars are having? They are all trying to play for one team to create some type of super team.

The NBA isn't very likable for a lot of reasons, I hope they overhaul everything in the coming lockout like the NHL did, but I don't think they will.

I remember a lot of the media absolutely trashing the Celtics, then they started winning and it was like it never happened.

I'm hoping Wade and Bosh team up somewhere and Lebron goes to New York and tries to win from square one (and fails).

So the Celtics won a game in which one of their players should have been suspended for the game. Good thing the NBA likes to rewrite history. LOL. I believe the 2002 WCF and the 1997 EC Semi's get rewritten and replayed to make things right.

When do the Magic players grow a new set of balls? What a horrible performance for a team in an elimination game. It sucks that Patrick Ewing always gets paired up with fucking losers his whole entire career. Guy can never catch one lousy break. I hope for the Magic Fans sake that each one of those bums is walking home to Orlando. That should make them think twice about forgetting to show up for an elimination game in the future.

I don't think they played THAT bad. Their shots were just not falling.

And, they won two elimination games prior to this.

They really don't have many options. Lewis and Carter are the two you'd possibly want to move, and they're both unmovable.

So all they can really do is tweak.

I'd start Brandon Bass in place of Barnes . Maybe Anderson if they can get him back to banging inside rather than camping the 3 point line. I think an inside scorer (both post game and ability to hit short jumpers) at the 4 (with Lewis back to the 3) to take pressure of Howard will do a lot more good than Barnes who's really only in there for defense and three pointers (and there's plenty of shooters on the floor without him).

Other than that, they just HAVE to change the offense. Maybe bring in a new assistant coach to run a new offense. This toss it in to Howard and kick out for 3's is just too limited.

They Magic were at their best in this series when there was more motion, penetration by guards, use of screens to get shooters open etc.

I agree totally. Every person I know feels the same way about the limited offensive scheme (i.e. two plays - 1) kick into howard, kick out to 3 point shooter and 2) high pick and roll with Howard). We all hate it.

The only way we can win next season is by changing the offense... Plain and Simple. Hello, Screens. Someone else needs to be down low with Howard. Lewis needs to move back to SF. Those three changes would be night and day with this team.

Key Stat from last night:
Game 6 - Brandon Bass 4:30 minutes.
Prior to this in our two wins...
Game 5 - Brandon Bass 12:36 minutes
Game 4 - Brandon Bass 11:05 minutes

He provided some of the better defense downlow (minus Howard). He cleared space for easy boards including his own. Yet, Stan Van Gundy regressed the offense/defense by going back to the kick out three scheme which did us in. Doc Rivers had the right defensive scheme to stop it (let howard get his points but dont let an uncontested three). Us going 6 for 22 last night proves it works.

The thing that baffled me this series is why Carter got the minutes he did. His shooting was atrocious. His defense was lacking. It would have made more sense to bring down his minutes and give them to Pietrus and Redick, who were both playing well in this series.

All true.

If Van Gundy doesn't make such tweaks next year, my patience with him will be growing thin. It's hard to be too hard on him with the success we've had the past two seasons.

But at the same time, we need to get to that next level and win a title! It kind of makes next season suck. The Magic are almost guaranteed to finish 1-3 in the East barring major injuries etc. So it really makes me not give a crap about the NBA until the 2011 Playoffs start!
Well here's to a rematch of last year....or if the Suns beat the Lakers, they'll get steamrolled.
Just like the Spurs steamrolled the Suns right?
Or if the Suns beat the Lakers, how we were supposed to be sweeped?
Or to not even make the playoffs?

This team has played well and made the doubters eat their words a few times already.

yea bill simmons had a good take about it in his mailbag Friday

Q: In the Hanes ad currently airing, you probably noticed that Michael Jordan is sporting what can only be called a Hitler mustache. Did this happen because he's MJ and no one has the stones to say anything to him, or is he trying to start another fashion fad such as baggy shorts or bald pride?
-- Jeff Fuller, Bakersfield, Calif.

SG: Let's agree that this is one fashion trend that won't take off. Here's my theory: I think it's a textbook "I'm Keith Hernandez" moment. In that ad, Jordan is telling us, "You may have given me crap after my Hall of Fame speech, but in case you forgot, I'm still Michael Jordan. I won six titles and five MVPs. I paid my ex-wife one of the biggest divorce settlements in American history. I once left basketball at the peak of my powers to learn how to play another sport just for the hell of it. I am the most famous athlete alive, even right now, even though I've been retired for eight years. I can have any woman I want, including yours. And if I want, I can grow a mustache that hasn't been seen in 65 years, not since the most reviled political leader in modern history wore it. Why? Because I like it, because I don't care and because I'm Michael Jordan."
That was a long freaking three pointer
would have been 5 points if it was a rock and jock game

Did the Suns forget that they are at home?

I cant wait for the Lakers/Celtics for the 10000000th time. Why? Because this season from hell will be over soon and James/Bosh will be even closer on the calender to signing with the Knicks. I really cant wait to see Lakers/Celtics for the billionth time. Thanks Suns and Magic.

So Hedo Turkoglu wants out of Toronto with 4 years 45 million left on his contract and putting up 11 points per game. Good luck on that one scrub. Blazers should be happy that they lost out on him in the off season last year.
Lebron is still young so he may still develop a good killer instinct but until he does Kobe is the best player in the league
Lebron is the best player in the league. He already has that killer instinct. He had it last year.
Kobe couldn't get it done without his big men... Shaq in his prime, Pau in his prime. Let alone that they have Ron Artest, Lamar Odom, and Andrew Bynum around him. Lebron doesn't have that level of talent around him. It would be scary to see Lebron on a team with that level of talent.

4 seconds left down by 1 game 7 in the finals I want the rock in Kobe's hands

Enough with the bullshit seriously. Comparing the two is apples and oranges.

Kobe had Shaq in his prime for the first 3 championships. Kobe had Gasol, Odom and a bunch of great role players for the 4th.

Lebron has Side Show Bob, Broken Down Shaq, Has Been Jamison, over rated scrubs in West, Williams and Parker.

The 6th Man on the 4 Lakers Championship teams were better than the #2 option on the Cavs the past 5 years. Hell the 8th man on the Lakers was better than the majority of James teammates.
