I realized today that i've yet to spend a single penny on video games for myself this year. MW3 at launch and Skyrim on black friday were my last purchases.
I rented MLB 2K12 for 2 days from Redbox so that kinda broke my perfect out of pocket streak. Also a couple XBLA games but I bought all those points last year and still have about 6000 points.
This year looks pretty boring game wise besides Witcher 2 and Ghost Recon until Football games start coming out in July/August didn't go past that on GS site.

i know the feeling i just did a tally for september and august....most certainly am going to get this under control before it spirals off a cliff....thankfully ive been smart enough not to eat into savings but i know me too well thats only a matter of time.

You want habit? I've probably bought 100 Xbox games the past year. I own 250+ total, and I expect to own at least another 75 by the time they retire the system for a new console. I don't have much faith in the direction the next generation of consoles seems to be headed.
ok im not THAT terrible i dont want to get that bad either God knows ill never play that many of the games. though i do have a ton of games they are just dispersed on multiple systems....though maybe i do 200 360 games by now? not sure...too afraid to count,
well if we factor in every console i own im sure its around 1000(we go back to the atari days and my brother didnt want the old systems so i got them lol) and if we factor in the dvd collection its im sure 3000 between the two plus vhs tapes.

We're in pretty much the same boat, then. I don't have many DVD's, though; only about 1000 and over half of them are copies. Not sure how many my wife has. I'm still easing into Bluray, so I've only got about 25 of those. I probably have just as many VHS...I got rid of most of those years ago. The only ones I kept are ones that I haven't replaced with DVD/BR versions yet (or they only exist in VHS form), plus a select few that I'm emotionally attached to like Little Nemo and Land Before Time. I've got a lot of nostalgia when it comes to my old games, but VHS is a format I never really liked too much.

only 1000 dvds eh? yea only a small amount lol well i think aside from 50-75 VHS tapes the other 1000 are my moms....now where those end up when she dies is the million dollar question i doubt the trash though as she has a ton of old disney movies and childrens shows and such which has been great for her grandkids and well any of their children i am sure. that and there are some good movies in that selection too....including our 4 copies of ghost lol
surprisingly most of the VHS tapes still work quite well.
hmm good question i dont know how many blu rays i have....i do tend to buy the blu ray copy over DVD and thankfully they are getting cheaper....what i dont like is those blu ray/dvd/digital combo only packages so you have to pay extra for crap i dont want or need.
i guess the point is i should put more money aside to try and save for a house after college i mean i know i already need a room in said future house just for the man-child in me.....the boxes of nerf,stuffed animals,video games, anime and other movies and dvds-blu rays,....then if my mom makes me take all my child hood toys that goes in there too....though to be fair it shouldnt still be cluttering up her house. plus my kids could play it with it no need buying new toys or at least as many.
