i expect battlefront and guitar hero to go down in price on amazon to 64.96 and 99.96 since amazon and walmart's pre-order pricing are extremely similiar

battlefront:

walmart: http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/star-wars-battlefront-ps4/6000187488396

amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00WAJNDM6?tag=cheapassgamers01-20&camp=213385&creative=390985&linkCode=as4&creativeASIN=B00WAJNDM6&adid=0SNKMMDFNJRJRAZAEV4T&

guitar hero:

walmart: http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/guitar-hero-live-bundle-ps4/6000192929687

amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00W29HO38?tag=cheapassgamers01-20&camp=213385&creative=390985&linkCode=as4&creativeASIN=B00W29HO38&adid=1QAH6W010N0M2R6EH3CS&

as guitar hero was at 99.96 for a short amount of time, good thing i got it at that price earlier.

here is a screenshot of it on my phone in case you guys need it:

... I'm at $1115 plus still waiting on about $800 (pre-discount) of stuff just on sale at Bestbuy. About half of which I'll definitely buy if they don't pop on Amazon. Dragon Quest Heroes day one edition most notably. So I'm gonna hit around $1500.

Anyone else notice that Amazon has caught up on a few games, but hasn't offered discounts? Shovel Knight most notably, it's multi-platform and pretty overpriced @ $40. Also Amazon added Corpse Party for $85 without a discount (BB has it for $60 - 20%).

Edit: Placed a $590 Bestbuy order. There's some questionable stuff in it that I may cancel or return though. But it's far easier to do that than it is to order anything a week from now.
Shovel Knight is cheaper on PSN/eShop anyway. Unless you want a physical copy for collection purposes.

Anyone think I should jump on the boat for the limited editions of Corpse Party and Persona 4 Dancing All Night? The reason I ask is because though I'm a big Persona fan, I don't know how this game will turn out, I'd rather wait for reviews but I'm afraid of how limited it is. P4 limited sold out quick, persona q never sold out, so I don't know what to think about this one, whether I have time to think about it or not.

Same with Corpse Party, I liked the other ones, I'd play this one just for the story but I'd rather get the LE if I can. But with all the awesome games coming out, I don't know if this is going to be super limited since xseed is such a niche company. Any suggestions?

But now, think later?
You can always cancel before release (just make sure you have enough games in your order so you can take advantage the promos
Also, reviews come before release date, so you can cancel accordingly if it is badly rated.
At worst you can always return back to Amazon or bestbuy (depending where you have
placed the order) or sell it on kijiji.
My 2 cents.

Yeah, that's what I meant by overpriced. AFAIK It's been well under $10 digitally. Even a physical collector like me has picked it up already. It shouldn't be more than $30, full priced, and I'd want 30% off.

Zestiria is sold out as well.
For the PS3? They added that yesterday (I've been searching regularly for it) and it said it was soldout from the get go. When it wasn't even on the E3 game list yet, I'm sure it's just broken. The PS4 one is up and fine and not selling out.

I don't do rhythm games, so I already don't want dancing all night. But the LE for it isn't on sale, so there's no rush to choose.

I'm pretty sure the Corpse Party LE is one of those first run = LE deals. It won't really be rare, but it won't be found in stores. Just ordering it from Bestbuy now will definitely be the cheapest way to get it.

This is some good advice. Thanks!

Thanks for your input :)

Still no Persona 5. I guess I'm going to pay full price. Sigh.

I was planning on buying it for Ps4 anyway. I've pretty much given up any hope of Persona 5 and Legend of Heroes showing up during this deal.

Anyone looking to get Super Mario Maker may want to get it from Bestbuy, they have some preorder bonus pins:

http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/category/e3-nintendo/nintendo-offer.aspx?icmp=E32015_nintendo_mariomaker_en

Buying 2 games from them will cost you an extra $12-$15 over Amazon though. Also IMO Super Mario Maker looks like dogshit. It may be decent you're into romhack level creation, but virtually every level that'll be offered will be crap and you spend hours sifting through crap to find decent stuff. But that's just my opinion.

dont they have rating on created levels from other people for d/l later? that way just download the most highly rated ones?

it's a neat idea (did they steal it from lbp?)

If you mean paying money for a level editor, then yes, they stole the idea from Little Big Planet. But it'll be better than LBP at least, seeing as you have a tablet to do work with.
for me, i think mario > lbp regardless just because i grew up with mario.

the tablet thing you brought up is a good point too. making levels will be much easier.

Hm, still no Bravely Second despite a Treehouse segment for it. That's annoying. I guess I'll have to pay full price.

We also still don't know which version of Fire Emblem Fates this is since two versions was confirmed for Western release. I guess if they give me Hoshido, I'll sell it for retail price and put the profit towards buying Nohr full-price? Or a special edition with both if they have that.

For now (I'll wait until tonight to finalize), I have:

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax on PS3 (we better just get Emilia as DLC or something)

Fire Emblem Fates (again, don't know which version)
Hyrule Warriors 3DS

I pre-ordered 3 3ds games since I don't have a PS4 yet and my interest in getting a Wii U is slowly fading. So I picked up:

Fire Emblem Fates - 49.99

Hyrule Warriors Legends - 49.99

Yo-Kai Watch - $49.99

So all those at 30% off is not bad at all especially since they are 10 dollars more than they used to be.

I don't remember Nintendo confirming the West was getting two versions. And even if we are, they'll most likely do something similar to Japan. As in, giving us the second game for a certain percent off.

ffs Transformers not being part of it. Oi
Transformers is now on Amazon.ca, $64.99 for the PS4 version.

I ordered it, along with the Uncharted Collection and Lego Avengers for the Vita ($20 day one, sweet!)

Anyone know how quickly after launch the games tend to arrive from Amazon? I've not pre-ordered from them before, but the deal absolutely kills Best Buy, so even if it takes an extra day or two, that is ok.

Any deals anywhere on pre-paid PSN cards??? I miss Target for the 20% deals :(

It's all YMMV. Shipping times depend on how close you are to a shipping center. Most stuff ships out from Ontario AFAIK. But even like that I've gotten stuff before the release date over here in Vancouver. On the flip side I've had a few parcels ship out a week after a release date, even though their site clearly flipped the status to "In Stock - ships within 24 hours" on release date. Although I think that'd be due to stock being transferred to a more local shipping center.

However it goes, Amazon always sends you shipping emails when stuff goes out, with tracking information and expected delivery dates. So you'll know what's happening.

There is a post for psn cards in the forum.

Here is the link:

Looks like it is still active.

Hyrule Warriors @ $42 is slightly tempting, but I feel it's still overpriced... problem of course...Nintendo titles rarely drop to "fair" prices until years later.

Think if I hold off they'll offer some sweet 3DS/Wii U Combo pack?

? At 30% off $50 Hyrule Warriors is $35, not sure how you hit $42. Certainly not a spectacular price for a game, but possibly the cheapest it'll ever be for a new copy of Hyrule Warriors.

They confirmed it in a press release, as Serenes Forest pointed out:

http://serenesforest.net/2015/06/16/fire-emblem-fates-releasing-two-separate-versions-west/

Two versions mostly means two different covers based on how Japan is getting it, and I'd prefer the Nohr cover, so I still want to know which version I'm getting. Looks like I'll have to order anyways and hope for the best.

Added Need For Speed to my order... Amazon.ca Chat Support is so damn awesome. Quick and easy. Glad they're somewhat spread out so wallet won't be too hurt.

My new list is as follows:

Wii U

Mario Maker (9/11/2015)
The Legend of Zelda (TBD)
Star Fox Zero (TBD)

PS4

Final Fantasy 7 Remake (TBD)

Final Fantasy XV (TBD)

Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain (9/1/2015)

Need For Speed (11/3/2015)

Ratchet & Clank (TBD)
STAR WARS Battlefront (11/17/2015)

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege (10/13/2015)

$555.89

What the other poster meant was the 3DS version that's coming.. at least I think. It'll have all the content of the Wii U version with the DLC included. So if you're not dead set on having it look pretty on your Wii U, then the 3DS version might be the one you consider. But for $42, it has a lot of content.. a lot.. and not even including the DLC which pretty much triples it in the 300-400 hour range.

$569.55 from me. All from Amazon, for the first time ever. Usually only ordered from Best Buy these past few years. Hopefully RMA is hassle free with Amazon the way it is with Best Buy.

Ordered:

Zelda Wii U, Mario Maker, and Mario Tennis.

Onechanbara, Last Guardian, and Horizon Zero Dawn.

Fire Emblem Fates, Mario & Luigi Paper Jam, and Hyrule Warriors.

Etrian Odyssey Untold 2, TriForce Heroes, and FFVII Remake.

Are we actually sure though? I'm still going to wait for some more info on this.

Hopefully RMA is hassle free with Amazon the way it is with Best Buy.
It's not bad, but it's not hassle free. You need to ship things to them and wait till they receive it for a refund.

I'm guessing from your list that you made orders in bunches of three because that's what worked best with Bestbuy? It's not the best idea for Amazon. Unlike Bestbuy Amazon makes cancelling a single game out of a order easy, and actually knows what's going on when you return something. But dropping your order under 3 games when there are still unshipped games might affect future discounts.

Are we actually sure though? I'm still going to wait for some more info on this.
No, we aren't sure about anything. But if you don't like what you ordered when it comes to it, you cancel your order. If you decide you do want this in the future you'll be paying full price.
