Futurama's not a very good game, yet some CAGers go ape shit over it. The non-Dreamcast/arcade versions of MvC2 aren't that great, either and are hella overpriced by GameStop just cause they're out of print.
 
Anyone know if this will work on new games? Because I heard that gamestop made it so that all new last-gen titles are going to be advertised as new and I wanted to get the Devil May Cry collection but none of the gamestops near me have it used

The coupon says used games only. The only last gen games that are marked as used when new are Xbox, GBA, and I believe Gamecube.
 
*sighs* I wish I could use this to get Digital Devil Saga from my local gamestop for only $27.29 (with tax) but I can't afford it until I get paid which is the day after this coupon expires :whistle2:(

Speaking of the DMC Collection, I saw a new set with a different outter box cover. The cover was white with pictures of the 3 games at the bottom. Not like the red cover with Dante pointing the gun. The back looked like the ones found at other reatailers.

Nasty Nasty Nasty! I reported it and we'll see if ebay does anything. Last time I reported a violation (someone swiped my auction images to sell their items) it took about 4 hours for it to be taken down.

Anyway, according to this website (http://www.experiglot.com/2006/07/03/tips-for-selling-coupons-on-ebay/ ) coupon auctions are legal only if they are actually mailed to the customer. I did not feel like confirming this, so I reported it under "other violation". If anyone clicks and sees a dead auction, then please blame me. LOL!

checked out the 2 shops that have nocturne. Didn't pick it up because they didn't have the original cases and booklet.
 
I went to one place where the web said they had Persona 3, but unfortunately they said "Oh, that was a defective copy, so it's gone"...or basically "One of us is taking it". I was sorta dejected until I saw the Growlanser: Heritage of War boxset. Grabbed it for $28 after coupon. Thanks OP!

Same thing happened to me. One guy said it was in their inventory and another said "Wait, that's being 'held', remember?" Oh, right. Whatever, I guess they should have some perk for working that job.

Ok...so what do I do if everyone has jacked my images but I stopped using my Ebay ID and the auction is over a year old?

I took some pics of the Robotech Legacy Collection and now EVERYONE HAS USED THEM. It's everywhere on Ebay AND Amazon.

The use of my pics did die down somewhat after a listing of mine under another Ebay ID.

man, i wish the local stores had good stuff... going around, i couldn't find anything of interest, and i wasn't even looking for SMT-level rarity titles (trying to get odin sphere and grim grimoire)... this season's just not good for cag wallets, is it?
 
Dammit... I missed a complete (with soundtrack) copy of Noctune by 10 minutes! I had to drive back to college and rushed to the GS that listed a copy online and go over to the used PS2 section.

A guy comes up and asks if I'm looking for anything, I tell him what and he points to the guy at the register checking out with old guy he's buying it now.

I picked up Sega Genesis collection and Sly Cooper for 17 bucks after edge and coupon.
I've been wanting to try Sly for a while and been wanting Genesis collection for Phantasy Star IV alone. Everything else is a bonus.
 
HAHA! I know what you mean. I just started reading this forum religiously since December and it has already cost me a couple of hundred dollars worth of games I may never get to.

Haha... I was actually thinking about asking him if he wanted use the 25% off coupon I had (because it rang up as $64.xx so he didn't have it or an EDGE card) and then been like, "fuck you! Get your own coupon bitch."

Oh well, that same store has a copy of Dark Alliance II. I already picked up 2 using this coupon... not sure if I want a third.

How do you "find" games that aren't in stock online? Do you need to know the productID or is there a certain search filter I need to use?

if you know the sku for something you can use the store locator to find anything

unfortunately a LOT of older games aren't listed anywhere on the website anymore

A lot of back ordered used games are still listed on the GS site. If you're looking for a particular title, your best bet is to go the used section for PS2 and, at the bottom of the page, click "show backordered items." Then, sort everything by title and look under whatever letter the game would fall under.

I have pretty good luck with a google search for the title and site:gamestop.com. I then click on the cached copy and can do a search for it in stores the normal way.
 
This is going to be hard to believe, but I bought a bunch of cheap used PS2 games off the site recently, I am at 90% success rate of getting a nice non generic case .... lucky I guess
 
I picked up another copy of Dark Alliance II... I was really sad to have missed Noctune but just a few minutes. But who knows if we'll ever get another coupon like this so I figured, why not own 3 copies (1 to keep, 2 for trade) of a game. Maybe somebody will trade it for Noctune or DDS.

ROFL if someone trades you SMT or DDS for BGDAII, that would require a lengthy bragging post.

BGDAII is over priced as a false rare. Every EB in my neighborhood has a copy, its just that no one is banging down doors to get a chance to spend $45 for a used copy ever since EB/Gamestop decides to copy Ebay pricing for their false rares

Hey, I might get a disc only copy.:p

And I'm just banking on the risk of buying them for $35 now and hope that I can at least flip them for no loss- that's all I'm worried about. This was a great coupon (35% off with EDGE!) and I wanted to get somethings out of it since I couldn't find a Nocture/DDS/Persona 3.

yeah, google is amazing. anyhow no luck yet with my searching in stores. online inventories turned up a few of interest (okami, odin sphere), but dropping by the store was fruitless. i have a feeling they're being checked out by employees at the moment or in their 'hold' bins.
 
The only thing that matters in an open market is supply and demand. Obviously, someone wants copies of DAII, and the available lot is small enough to drive up prices. I keep seeing used copies go for $50+ on eBay, so someone out there must be having a hard time finding copies.
 
i got really lucky. my mall has a gamestop, eb games, software etc, and a funcoland. okami i got for 35% off with edge card used and shadow of colloseus as well. used 10 % off coupon plus edge card for another 10% on gba games. warioware and castlevania for 5 bucks each. new cashier did not know what he was doing with the gba games.
