2nd CAG SSBB Tournament!!! - Currently: FINAL MATCH - JMG!!! vs Peachachu
We will get you guys in the finals! (Yes, I said that.)

FallMoon wasn't on the top of her game tonight. I think the results will be different next time. :)

Good games, guys.
We will face them in the finals without me killing myself and stuff.

GGs to Peachachu and Joe. IMO, those matches were pretty crappy and anti-climatic due to the lag. It took our entire group 4 or more disconnections before we finally got it settled, and then in Game 4, Joe got disconnected.

Here are some details to the matches. The others can pitch in if they'd like.

1. Joe's Mad Goo!!! (6) d. Peachachu (4): We were up the whole time but the stocks were pretty even. It eventually came down to Joe's Mad Goo!!! double teaming against Rig's Pikachu.

2. Joe's Mad Goo!!! (6) d. Peachachu (5): This was the laggiest match out of the set. Both FallMoon and I suicided ourselves due to lag and we weren't even near opponents! In the end, Joe and Rig face off one another but Joe has the advantage w/ 2 stock and inevitably finishes him off.

3. Peachachu (6) d. Joe's Mad Goo!!! (4): I died early leaving Joe alone (2 stocks) against FallMoon (1) and Rig (1). I tried to steal Joe's life to help him out but the game wouldn't let me (how do you really?). Anyways, Joe was eventually gang-raped. Sorry dude for failing on the last two games.

I think it's A + B on a Wavebird/GC controller...if that's what you were using.

We must've lost because we went against our team name. We aren't MetaChu or SamChu! (Though, I think MetaChu has a nice ring to it.)

Here are some details to the matches. The others can pitch in if they'd like.

1. Joe's Mad Goo!!! (6) d. Peachachu (2) (I distinctly remember looking at our stock count as we were taunting "Joe's Mad Goo!!!" for the win - we had four lives left): We were up the whole time but the stocks were pretty even. It eventually came down to Joe's Mad Goo!!! double teaming against Rig's Pikachu. We had four stocks left to Rig's two when the double-teaming began, and we were relentless. And so was our taunting. Of special note, Meta Knight had two shuttle-loop related suicides. And zero kills. Sad day.

2. Joe's Mad Goo!!! (6) d. Peachachu (5): This was the laggiest match out of the set. Both FallMoon and I suicided ourselves due to lag and we weren't even near opponents! In the end, Joe and Rig face off against one another but Joe has the advantage w/ 2 stock and inevitably finishes him off. I was especially proud of shutting down the Spamchu-mobile before it even started in our 1v1. My Waddles can be turds, huh?

'Tis okay. :D I knew, to win, I had to take Kirby out of the picture, which just didn't happen. I so wanted to pull an evergoo too. Oh well. If they deliver on their promise to meet us in the finals, I'll be sure to show them the what for.
I fixed and added a couple details. :)

Thanks for fixing my mistakes. Lol. I usually don't pay attention to exact details except who won.

But was it really 6-2 for Game 1? I remember being very confident near the end game but I don't recall the game being that lop-sided.

In the event that I'm out and you're still alive, don't go killing yourself so you can have only 1 stock and pull a miracle. You ain't me!

I humbly request an extension for the epic rematch b/t DAS vs SUYM.

If you do not fulfill my request, we shall kung fu fight...................naked.....................in the mud...................

thats right, i said M-U-D

Yeah, we'll most likely need an extension. I've got my work schedule ironed out now, but Suko and Beef aren't going to be around today from what they've told me. Tomorrow may be up in the air as well.

Sorry to hold things up, but I didn't want to commit to something I was unsure of. I started my new job on Wednesday and wasn't sure if I was going to be working weekends.

3rd in Tulsa out of ...54?

Pokemon Trainer won it decidely. Never seen a serious PT. It was wild.

I lost a close one to him and then threw a match away against a Falco to get 3rd. Killed myself with MK, then switched to G&W, destroyed him, and then lost a close close 3rd one with G&W again. BOO. Thats 6 3rd places. 14 or so tournaments in like 15 weeks.

Unfortunately for you, this "threat" had the opposite effect of what I assume was intended. NO EXTENSIONS!

Okay, you guys can have an extension. But I'm going to insist that the victor not be tardy with their match against Peachachu. We want these Finals to start! :bouncy:

Trust me, we're ready for them to start as well. Suko and Beef just had a few things pop up this weekend, and I was unsure what times my work schedule would allow. Hopefully we can knock this out early next week. Sorry again for the delay, and thanks for the extension.

Anyways thanks for the extension, you can have Mr. Honey Bunny back

SHOW US YOUR MOVES vs. Duel Aura Stars is about to commence.

EDIT: That was just way too laggy guys. I'll try hosting... join up.

The lag was pretty harsh, but thats what happens when there are four people from around North America.

Edit: We'll have a proper rematch later if you'd like, sorry I had to bolt but I didn't eat anything before starting the match.

Nah, it's whatever. This tourney has already gone on long enough... someone needs to win it sooner or later.

EDIT: Oh, and I didn't keep track of scores or anything... didn't care enough to after watching that slideshow... heh. So if you want to write the report up or whatever, go for it.

It wasn't the best match in the world, thats for sure.

2-0 for the rematch between DAS and SUYM, I can't even remember enough to recap it.

Edit: Thanks suko, much appreciated :)

Good games suko and Arikado. The first match was extremely laggy but seems to have gotten a tad better in the last two rounds. We should get some more games going online sometime. ^^

This is horrible.

Multiple disconnects and dropped games. Very laggy in the first round (that didn't get finished because of a disconnect).

Here's hoping that you guys have non-laggy rounds

To Joe and the eventual finalists: Is it cool if we do a best of 7 to determine the champions?

Also, Joe, I've compiled statistics and odd facts about every team in this tournament. I'll PM you once DAS and Peachachu finish their match. Tell me what you think.
Best of 7 sounds like a good idea.

Heres hoping we actually get the matches done, the lag makes it almost unplayable.
Whoops!

I meant best out of 5. For some reason, I thought the first tourney's final was out of 7.

I don't mind that we have a best of 5 for the finals. I did stipulate on the first page that all matches would be best of 3, but . . . I'm changing my mind! :) Yeah, send me those stats, goo! I'd love to see them!

Peachachu & Duel Aura Stars: So when is this match going to begin?! We've been waiting ages to fight the eventual runner-ups of this tournament.

I'll PM them to you. They're not finalized yet since we have 2 more matches left in this tourney. Take out or include any stats you would want and tell me what you think.

I don't think we can get this finished. Every game is game-freezing lag, with an eventual disconnection. Been trying for nearly an hour now.
If anyone is d/l or u/l anything, now would be a good time to turn those off (just in case you haven't already)
I've got nothing. The Wii was the only thing I had connected to the Internet.

(Had to turn the computer on just to come here.)

What a damn crazy night of Brawl. I don't think I want to play online for a while.

Great games (when they weren't laggy), DAS.

I'll leave it to FallMoon or Maigo to post the results, since I don't know the specifics.

Score was 1 each for both teams.

We ended up just doing a 1v1 for the final match (Fallmoon vs Myself) since wifi was being uncooperative w/ 4 player matches.

Fallmoon won 3-1 against me. I yield to her ZSS.

Sweet! So, I guess we're ready to do this thing! I'll update the OP (including prize information) some time today, and then I'll send a PM to everyone so we can get this thing under way!

Also, if someone was interested in coordinating the third tournament, you might want to start organizing now. Just a suggestion.

So it looks like a rematch between Joe's Mad Goo!!! and Peachachu. Like maigoyume suggested, let's minimize Smash lag by not d/l or u/l anything.

Also, I will be going to a wedding during this time: Thursday, July 3rd to Sunday, July 6th. We can either play before or after this time.

JoeB: What is this prize you speak of? I'm curious.
Also, if someone was interested in coordinating the third tournament, you might want to start organizing now. Just a suggestion.
If there is another tournament, I say switch it back to singles. Teams are just too laggy and too difficult to get together.
JoeB: What is this prize you speak of? I'm curious.
Just Wii points! Not too creative, but I'm sure they'll be valued all the same! :)

Oh, and thanks for the stats, goo! They're really interesting, especially the later stuff you had! Be sure to post finalized stats after we finish the tourney! :)

And to Kado's suggestion: I agree. This was a fun venture into unknown territory, but I think sticking to singles will be best for our collective sanity. Anyone want to pick up responsibility for tournament number three? By doing so, you're pretty much guaranteed a trip to the finals (see: Beef in first tourney, Goo and myself in the second).

Yeah, this is something I noticed but didn't want to jinx anyone ;) I've fallen out of the Smash this past month :( Want to help me get my lag calibrated reflexes back sometime Jojo?
