30 Best Freeware Games
It pains me to not see Continuum/Subspace on this list, which is the best game you've never played.
Got a link?

Can't believe I didn't think to include it.

Originally known as Subspace, but changed to Continuum when the client was reverse engineered by the players, it's a 2D overhead deathmatch-meets-asteroids online multiplayer game. Controls take some getting used to, but I think you can remap them these days.

GReat game with lots of different options/arenas/gameplay types. I pimp Powerball, which is like soccer deathmatch asteroids.

More people ought to play it. Hugely underrated. I've played it for almost 10 years and it's still amazingly fun.

I agree with the list, some good stuff there. (Adventures of Fatman, Beneath a Steel Sky, Doom Rougelike) Doom is really fun, give it a try.

Kinda dissapointed Cave Story wasn't there. http://agtp.romhack.net/doukutsu.html

Ah damn, just realized that Fatman links to Underdogs, which has been down for a while now...I really miss that site.

Runescape (runescape.com) and Subspace/Continuum are definitely missing from that list......both are great games that are horribly addictive.

I played it.

Also of note is Allegiance which is a sort of massive Tie Fighter space sim with a macro element (ie mining to build bases, researching tech to get better ships, etc). Originally developed by Microsoft, it is now open source :)

Underdogs is still around. http://www.the-underdogs.info/

I read on a forum that there was some sort of issue with the domain renewal as payment info needed changing and they couldn't contact the owner. But I guess she's in touch with them and the old domain will be back soon - if it isn't back already.
