Yeah, I'd just like to plug in both RCA and component cables and be able to switch between the two for a comparison. I know the GCN 480p games aren't going to be the best thing you'll see on an HD, but they are the only things I will be able to view both ways and just want to see the difference made.
EGL said my TV had been picked up on Wednesday, was in-transit from Columbus, OH on Wednesday, Friday was scanned (still in Columbus) and this morning the last scan disappeared and was replaced by a new scan (still in Columbus). These tracking things sure are wierd sometimes.
That isn't the best way to find out of "HD is all that" because it isn't HD.
There are many SDTVs that do 480p.
These are my impressions of the set that my cousin bought.
HD channels look good, but not quite as good as my newer off-brand LCD TV which surprised me, and showed me how far along picture quality is coming on LCD TVs as they used to really suck compared to CRT.
I took over my PS3 to test out the HDMI connection and we both noticed a big problem. There's lots of wavy lines that are very noticable when the screen is all black. Adjusting the settings helped a little and it started to calm down as we got in a good amount of playtime but they did not go away.
My cousin says it's not enough to make him return it. His SDTV broke anyway and it does look a thousand times better than that at least.
However, I have to say that my cheapo LCD set does a better job with HD signals. It's much smoother.
If it didn't have the wavy line problem, it'd be perfect for the price.
Doesn't bother him, but it bothers me a lot, I would return it.
My cousin is happy though, that's good.
