360 hardrive deals? 20 or 60 GB

truendo

CAGiversary!
Hey all,

I was just wondering if any of you know of some good deals for a 360 hardrive. I found a good deal on a 360, but it's an arcade, so I'd like a hardrive to go with it. I want a 20GB one because I don't feel like spending more money, but if you know of a good enough deal for a 60GB one, I'll go for it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
-Truendo

Darn Shady, you beat me to it.

I have a brand new 20gb still in the packaging I picked up on clearance and never used and has just been sitting here

You can get one on Ebay, but it will be at about the same or a bit more than these fine gentleman are selling it for.

Send him a PM.

Long story...I upgraded from my 20GB to a 120GB drive. It was an Elite (black) drive, so it didn't match my white/gray console. Cuz I'm anal-retentive, I took the 120GB drive and put it into the gray 20GB HDD casing.

So I've got a 20GB HDD in a black 120GB Elite HDD case. $15 shipped, if anyone's interested. Works just as new. PM me if interested.

Does anybody know of a good deal from either a trusted online store, or a regular retail store?
Sears sells the 20 gigs for $8.97 or 120 gigs for $59.97.
That's crazy cheap for the 20 GB........Is this a YMMV? In store only? Didn't see it at the web site.

I find that very hard to believe. There's no way they can sell them for that cheap.

 It's a clearance. Most of the time the prices aren't marked, so ALWAYS scan the item you thought was $XX.XX.

(please excuse my "cut & paste" here of an earlier post)
Just a suggestion:
I took a chance on an eBay seller (there are a couple, I chose seller 'artmall88') that ships a 120 GB HDD from China for less than $83 shipped (6/7/09: they are going for less than $70 shipped now). Ordered on March 11, '09. Delivered in 2 weeks.

Totally legit.
Works perfectly.
Extremely satisfied.

Yes this is YMMV depending on your local stores stock.

No the price isn't. This is a clearance item.

Note: Hard Drive has been mailed to DAWG26. GONE

I bought an Xbox 360 on eBay that came with a hard drive I'm willing to let anyone have for the cost of shipping which would probably mean ~$5 USPS Small Flat Rate Box.

The catch is the Xbox 360 system was advertised by the seller as a 60GB. However when I got it in the mail the hard drive casing said 60GB on it but a 20GB hard drive had been put inside of it. Of course there was a cheap looking warranty seal on it instead on the Microsoft one. Anyway, I only had the thing hooked up for a few minutes until I went to format the HD and saw it wasn't the right size. As far as I know it works, but I can make no guarantees.

Luckily I'd bought a good amount of other stuff from this seller and its a good seller and they just sent me another entire system bundle (system, accessories, controller) isntead of just replacing the hard drive without asking me to return the old one.

So if anyone wants to take a chance with this hard drive PM me. Again you are just paying for shipping and it is completely AS-IS, use at your own risk. (To clarify I mean by your own risk is that I know nothing about swapping hard drives into the hard drive housings for Xbox 360 and don't want you to somehow get banned from Xbox live or anything by doing so. I'm nearly positive it won't happen but I have no personal experience with it. I know nothing about this history of this hard drive).

Here is a link to photos I just took of this drive: http://www.gamingrivalry.com/free_xbox360_harddrive.jpg
You can see the warranty seal was replaced with a cheap crappy looking one.

I've received several PMs about this...the drive has been sold.

I also have a 20 GB drive I'll sell for $20 shipped within US (please add $2 if paying Paypal via credit card). Wiped clean using a migration kit. PM me if interested.

edit: The HDD is pending out. Thanks for everyone's interest!

I went to sears today and picked up a 120GB for 69.97. They were marked at 149.99 but I asked the clerk to scan it and it came up with the discount.

Ok, I'll try it. I'll post what happens after I do it.

I just bought a used 120gb online with transfer cable for $99. Not too bad, but since I bit an official price drop is just around the corner I'm sure.

I checked out my Sears after work yesterday, and got their last 120 GB HDD. It cost me $70 + tax. Thanks for the heads-up!

Wow, I stand corrected! I just picked up two 120gb for $70 + tax each. I'm going to sell one, and keep the other! :D
Does the 120GB drive come with a transfer kit? If not, how do you transfer any save files over?
It does come with one.

Sweet...Just picked one up at Hawthorne Center mall in Vernon Hills, IL. The tag said it was on clearance for 119.99, but it rang up 69.99. There was one left.

I'm tempted to visit my local sears to see if I could find the HD for that price, but then with the E3 announcement that Microsoft will start selling games through xbox live that makes me think that soon MS will come out with a 250 or 320GB HD. If they do release them I just hope Microsoft stops shafting us the customers and sell those HD for a decent price.

Thanks for the response. I left for Sears about an hour after I posted so I found out for myself when I picked up my $70 HD. They had a few left there, but in my store they were in a locked end cap a few rows away from the XBox section. So, if you don't spot any be sure to ask. Also, my store had red sticker prices.
