The problem for me is I'm already really close to the maximum number (300) of icons (games, demos, etc) you can have on the Home screen of the 3DS. I've already had to delete a bunch of demos, and will likely have to go through another round of deletions soon. Not sure what I'm going to do when all I have is games left though :(

Which begs the question, if you have plenty of memory on your SD card (like I do) why did Nintendo cap the amount of icons you can have on your home screen to 300?
Could you put stuff into folders Josef ?
Actually I already tried that and it didn't help. Still caps at 300 total on your system.
Didn't know about that. I don't download a lot of demos or anything so I probably won't run into that situation anytime soon but it's still a silly restriction. I am surprised they didn't do another update to the OS when the N3DS came out but then again we're waiting for a lot of stuff from them.

That's annoying. Hopefully they change it in some update eventually. I got a 32gb card to never have to deal with limits!
He isn't talking about size. He is talking about screen space. It's like the icons on your desktop or phone. He has filled up all available spots and will need to delete an icon regardless of whatever free space he has.

I get that, but it's still a limiting factor. I specifically bought something to prevent me from having to do any storage management, yet for some arbitrary reason, there is an lock in place which may force me to do so anyway. The difference with this and a pc or phone is even when there is no more room on your screen for icons, you still have a menu that lists all of your programs and apps.

I doubt anyone at Nintendo ever figured people would actually have 300 icons on their menu. I have 105 icons on my menu, including at least a few dozen I either barely use or will never use.

The technical reason is probably so that it doesn't slow down the system (back when the 3DS was brand new). It's kinda like the limit on Pokémon boxes in the main game.

Actually 300 is quite low considering my DS game collection is over twice that. If they really want people to go all digital they need to plan for things like this.

I don't think he's talking about screen space. Surely if one used folders, one could fit far more than 300 icons on the screen? I was thinking he was saying there is some kind of an OS limit where you can only have 300 things, period (regardless of whether they're in folders).

Etrian Mystery Dungeon is getting a paid theme and free DLC for a limited time:

Free DLC! (For a Month!)
When Etrian Mystery Dungeon releases on April 7, people who own the game will be able to get all the DLC for free. This offer lasts through May 5, so don't dawdle! The DLC consists of five quests that have various bonuses! After May 5, the DLC will revert to paid, with the prices indicated below.

The first three DLC quests require you to find a lost adventurer in the dungeons. Once you do, they will give you recipes that unlock meals prepared by the NPC Niralda in the Amber Cafe. Players can purchase the meals for each of the party members to apply buffs that last until they leave the dungeon!

  • Find a Wanderer for me! Find the master chef Wanderer to unlock three new recipes for the Amber Restaurant! ($1.49)
  • Find a Princess for me! Find the stray Sovereign to unlock a meal fit for a king in the Amber Restaurant! ($1.99)
  • Find a Landsknecht for me! Find the adventurous Landsknecht to unlock three new recipes for the Amber Restaurant! ($1.49)
The last two DLC quests are repeatable quests that players can get from Niralda as well:

  • Know the Red Pookas? Slay a Red Pooka wandering around the dungeon to receive a Golden or White potion for extra experience! ($1.99)
  • Slay the Gold Guardian! Defeat an elusive Gold Guardian in the dungeon to receive a Nugget of Gold fragment for extra gold! ($1.49)
Paid Theme!
Beginning March 31 (a week before the game launches!), an Etrian Mystery Dungeon theme will be available on the Nintendo eShop for 99 cents! The static theme has scrolling character art (hand-drawn and 3D), plays the main Etrian Mystery Dungeon theme song, and has custom folders. We made a short little demo video of the theme you can check out here:

Any thoughts on this anyone? I've been curious about this game as I love me a good Metroid style game, but from what I have read the game is extremely short, but at $5 I think it may worth downloading.

Xeodrifter is fantastic, $5 is a great price for it as well.

It caps at 300 because if you've managed to max that out you probably need to go outside and get a life.
My goal in life is to get to 300 icons so I can then go outside with it then lay in a meadow and play it until I die from exposure.

Boo, need the season pass half off for Moon!

Xerodrifter is a definite purchase for me. May consider Zombie Panic.

I thought today was the last day for the Wayforward sale? I forgot about it and I saw that the prices have reverted.
Ended at noon EST.

Yeah, these where my choices. I bought Moon a few weeks back when it was on sale, and I'm waiting for a season pass sale also. Xenodrifter was a must buy at this price, and I had forgotten Zombie Panic had even come out, so I grabbed that one also.

I was 10 CN points shy of grabbing a 200 point item, and these 2 games put me over the top.

Looks like I will need to get Xeodrifter for $5. I also picked up Moon Chronicles awhile ago when it was last on sale, I haven't been able to get into the game though, I have the N3DS, but really hate the way the game controls.

wow seems fossil fighters might be a hard find.    Target said they never got them and my amazon order what was to be here tomorrow never shiped

I thought it was coming out on Friday? I haven't seen much hype for the game though, so you may be right that it will be harder to find a physical copy of the game. I am not entirely sure what the game is all about. I know they released one on the DS, but I never looked into it and didn't hear much about the game.

I think it's a Digimon/Pokemon/mon style game where you fight fossils.

I played the first Fossil Fighters, and I own the second. It is pretty much Pokemon with dinosaurs. You find fossils, and there are pretty fun minigames involving excavating and cleaning up fossils. You find fossil parts, and when you find enough, you can create a dinosaur from the fossils. Dinosaurs have different abilities, and you fight them against other people's dinosaurs in the game. If you like Pokemon, you're probably going to like Fossil Fighters.

Yes, it's never been on sale before.
I'm on the fence to get it or not. I have access to the trilogy via DS, but I would have to play them on the DS itself since I hate playing DS games on the 3DS (the stretching effect is subpar compared to the DSi XL) so I'm not sure if it's worth it at just 25% off...

And is Dual Destinies on sale for the first time, or has it been on sale before (if so, is this a better price? Trying to gauge if the trilogy would end up on sale again at a deeper discount in the future)

As far as the other

Dual Destinies was on sale once before but the price wasn't as low as it is now... If you're not itching to play them right away they may drop even lower next time(assuming there is one). As for the games themselves, I can't actually speak for... Never tried them out. My wife loves them though.

I want to say it was twice. Whatever I bought it at the first time it went on sale the first time, then a slightly lower amount that I then regretted having bought it at the first time.

Can anyone tell me how to give the phoenix wright triology as a gift? It says its not available for purchase on nintendo.com through the online eshop. Is there any other way to get a download code? Thanks!

Not if they don't offer it for purchase on the Nintendo web eShop. I haven't seen any other means of just purchasing a code for eShop games yet. You could get the other person a $20 eShop card and use their 3DS to buy it for them, which would leave them a little bit extra credit for something else.

there's some Monkey Game that got listed under Renegade Kid Sale tab on the eShop
a vertical match 3 game of sort

how's ATV Wild Ride - any good?
I just saw the banner on the eShop that only showed four games when talking about the sale. I haven't played ATV Wild Ride, but I recall hearing good things technically (60fps with 3D on) if I'm remembering right.

Reading up on it, it's a port of a DSiWare game that looks like they didn't upgrade it very much, which explains why it can do 60fps in 3D.

Hooray. $9 for the whole game is something I'm down with. Thanks for posting it since I probably wouldn't have seen it otherwise.
Your welcome. I agree $9 is a fair price for the full game, but just an FYI to fellow CAGs with almost full SD cards, both the game and DLC combined take up 2,467 blocks of space.

I'm really disappointed in Capcom for not releasing Dual Destinies on a cart. I got into the series, super late. Once I finally gave the game a chance, I went on a hunt and purchased every one released (CIB). I didn't get DD at launch, thinking maybe eventually it would get released. When it went sale for the 1st time, I didn't buy for the same reason. Obviously it's not getting a cart released so I'll bite now -_-. It's a great price.

The games really did not sell well here towards the end of the DS releases, you can't really expect them to do a physical release then or months after the fact when everyone that would have bought it has already done so.

Yeah, that was an A$$ move on Capcom's part. They sale the absolute worst garbage on their shop, and most of it doesn't sale, and they mark it to half off and loose money. Now a cart version of DD limited to 500, 1000, or more would have SOLD OUT! They had a Street Fighter Chess set at $300 and limited to 5000 worldwide, really? I'm a HUGE SF fan, and I had no interest in paying that much for a chess set. Who the hell did they think would buy that? Who ever green lit that should have lost his job.

But then EVERYONE begged them for a physical DD, LE or otherwise and they couldn't be bothered. This is why they now suck, and the games fans want, they don't make, and the games they do make suck, or have been filled with crap DLC.

That chess set limited to 100 would have been great, even 500 worldwide would have been cool, but 5000? It was half off at some point, as they couldn't give them away. I'm always amazed how these companies self destruct over time. It's like Iwata over at "N" living in a bubble and is constantly surprised by EVERYTHING that happens in the real world. Hell, just read anywhere any time, and you'll know what's hot and whats not.

Who the fuck runs these online shops are absolutely clueless.

I feel like maybe you don't fully understand how the American economy works. Tiny production runs aren't nearly as cheap or easy as you seem to believe, and have very slim profit margins even when you charge ridiculous prices for them.
