Still can't decide whether to bite on Kirby Triple Deluxe. I wish it were a little cheaper, and I have plenty else to play, but I'm sure it would delight me.

I paid full price for the Digital game (partially so I could hit Platinum) and I wish it'd been this cheap when I got it. I would not have hesitated. I mean, obviously if you would be just as happy to get it physically, you could wait,... but I would be surprised if it was substantially cheaper any time before Black Friday deals start.

Yeah, if you want it digital Nintendo does these sales so seldom and puts so few titles on sale each time that it probably won't be on sale again for some time. Probably wouldn't be any cheaper either knowing Nintendo.

I think it was one of Nintendo's best titles last year and I actually still have my original launch copy which is extremely rare. There's a bit of replay value if you want to 100% it but like all Kirby games it's very easy. Despite being so easy the game still manages to be really fun which is something a lot of Kirby titles have missed on previously. So I'm definitely in the get the game camp, it's just not an easy digital recommendation.

I had the launch copy, but ended up buying the digital version cause it makes my life easier. Just traded in the game to GS for $22. Prob going to use that to get Luigi's Mansion off of eShop at some point.

So, how worthwhile is Captain Toad at $27.99? Or should I just grab a physical copy from BB for $32 with GCU?
Not sure why you posted in the 3DS thread, but it's a fun game. If you played the Toad levels in 3D World you should know what to expect. I'd say go for the physical copy for $5 more, though. It's not something you'd really replay and the TIV will probably be on the high end for awhile like most first party Nintendo titles.

Was thinking it was just a general eShop thread, whoops.

Thanks for the input! I'm in.

I'm also in for Tomodachi Life, because I'm a serious sucker for anything that weird and Japanese.

I assume this is old news, but I figured I'd post it for you people playing Pokemon Rumble World:

http://ask-camellia-rose.tumblr.com/post/116780834772/jsdchamp99-pokemon-rumble-world-passwords
welp. So much for making up the difference in diamonds that way.

Because most stuff winds up getting swapped out for new copies when there's good trades or I trade and rebuy it down the road or convert to digital.
Oh I thought you meant something like launch editions having some unique swag that wasn't really advertised.

I actually really like the game, and I have yet to spend a dime. You can actually get free diamonds for street passing strangers and friends, if you look in the store. You just have to click on the option to redeem them. Like if one person street passes you, you click on 1 passerby street pass, and it gives you 10 free diamonds.

I have self control. I never spend real cash on F2P games. If it takes me a while to unlock everything, I don't really mind. It's a fun game. And, you can get a lot of free diamonds from street passing strangers and friends.

They might as well drop the prices to that permanently....they are on sale like 90% of the time lol

I can't say I have a problem with a publisher that is hands-on with their games on the eShop while many others put their games on sale maybe once or twice a year at best.

you will never get the 1250 or 1500 diamond it takes to unlock all of the balloons for free i think theres a cap of what 300 free diamonds

No EO4 for $15, and given how good EO4 was that's a shame. If these Atlus sales are on again off again on specific items it might behoove us to treat them as less of a joke... maybe.

I don't really care about that. I'm not sure why you are angry about me enjoying a free game without spending any money. With all the passwords that have been released, I have already unlocked 128 Pokemon, and I'm only level 20. And, the game allows you to get free diamonds for doing a lot of different things. Each of the king's challenges gives you 14 or 15.

After seeing it on sale several times, I think I'm going to pick up Etrian Odyssey Untold. I haven't played an Etrian game before, but I did like the demo of the EO Titan game. I like the thought of a story mode in Untold as well.

My dilemma... EO Untold or Etrian Mystery Dungeon? I like Fire Emblem style combat, and Mystery Dungeon seems to have that. I'm unsure about repetitive dungeons though. Has anyone played Mystery Dungeon yet and can offer their opinion?

Thanks :)

I like both Mystery Dungeon games and the Etrian Odyssey series. I think IV is my favorite of the Etrian games, but Untold Story is pretty solid. The Etrian Mystery Dungeon game felt like a bland mix of both worlds. It didn't have the characterization or fun of either game IMO. Gameplay got boring for me and I never finished it. for $15, I think Untold Story is pretty good buy.

Thanks :) I'm going to go ahead and pick up Untold. It'll take me long enough to complete and I'll be ready for Untold 2 in August lol. I've read other people having the same issue with Mystery Dungeon.

Hands down, get Untold.

In short, Etrian Mystery Dungeon is unbalanced with horrible AI. Even the people who like it a lot admit it.

I posted a lot of issues I saw on it on the Japanese niche thread. Disclaimer: I'm still playing it, and I've played Shiren and Izuna and didn't like those titles either.

who said i was mad just saying there is no way to unlock it all for free that is all i was saying.i think there are only 10 or 11 kings quest. Im level 43 spending 7.50 in diamonds. Not sure i will spend the other 5 bucks to unlock the last 3 ballons

There's 28 King's Challenges, so 15 x 28 = 420.

I'm enjoying the game.  I didn't mind spending $2.30 on 250 diamonds.  Probably not gonna spend any more, but we'll see.

Good call. I have all the EO games and played them all. Untold is the only one that held my interest enough to finish. Not digging Mystery dungeon at all. Not a big rogue game fan I guess.

Ehh....not really. You might have the wrong idea about how combat works in MD. But regardless, I think Untold is a good choice for the price. Etrian games aren't really for everyone. But if you like it, you'll get hooked.

on the 16th quest.

16 only gives 11 so say 11 each 13 left so 133 still can grab

ballons needed

distorton 140

plasma 160

legend 200

have 33 left as of now... so maybe 166 so could grab one free balloon. Dont think the other 2 would be worth 5

love for them to add more worlds but i doubt it ever happens

I'm enjoying Fairune quite a bit, as it's more of a puzzle game than a grind-heavy RPG like Witch & Hero. You explore the world, find items, explore it some more to figure out how/where to use those items to progress to the next area/item, and so on until you reach the end. There is an RPG element with leveling and combat where you run into enemies and take damage for each hit, but it's more of an additional method of gating your progression so that you know if you can't one-hit kill an enemy, you're probably in the wrong spot.

The one annoying thing that it does constantly is that it has tons of hidden paths that are obscured that are necessary to find to keep progressing through the game, but it tends to be really well-hidden so that you're fooled by the art to think that you can't go left or right in many areas.

I might just try Fairune; it's just two bits.

I also feel kind of disappointed with Etrian Mystery Dungeon. The AI and the fact that you have a party ramps up the difficulty significantly from most roguelikes. Plus it just doesn't seem to have any charm.

While I agree with that, it's not a sale anymore and more of a running joke. Can't afford Code of Princess this week while it's on sale? Wait two weeks, it'll be back. Those ought to be the regular prices by now with how often the sale prices are active.

With that in mind, though, I'd be perfectly happy if Atlus dropped some other games to the $15 price point.

yea its telling me to go to the 3 dungeon yet you need to be rank 10+ to even have a chance at beating the FOE rank 7 now. Every race has its different rank up chart what you have no clue what it is.... Got mine for 30 ebay so im happy

Shit on it all you want, but that's how I got SMT IV, EO Untold, and will probably get SMT Devil Survivor Overclocked at some point when I've got the funds/time to make the most of it.

They do drop the prices periodically, but they're not going to do that and negate sales/marketing potential for those that decide that this sale is when they'll finally pull the trigger.

That's your mistake for paying any attention to slidecage.

Also, your numbers are off. You get a max of 70 diamonds free from the shop. The vast majority of challenges max out at 13 diamonds (including beating hard mode). All of the balloons alone cost over 1200.

If you want to play Rumble World without spending a dime, good luck. It's going to take you literally months to 100% it, if not years.

The problem is that they keep putting the games on sale for the exact same price. You can market it all you want, but when a sale happens as often and as identical as this one, it loses meaning.

Personally I'm waiting for the sale to drop to $10 each. Then I'll buy them all.

Not really. It's psychological. Instead of dropping the MSRP to 50%, they have it on sale 50% every couple of weeks. That way, the buyer thinks they're getting a deal.

See JCPenney for example. They got rid of coupons, their sales plummetted. They brought them back, and it's climbing again. People want to feel like they got a good deal.

Cynical and accurate.

I was able to play a couple hours of EO: Untold last night and enjoyed it, so thank you to those who recommended it :)  I know it's on sale often, but this time I finally was in the mood for it :)

So Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is headed to Steam, and in exchange, Risky's Revenge Deluxe is headed to 3DS/Wii U.

Not bad. I feel bad for owners of the original Risky's Revenge though, I doubt there'll be an upgrade price.

Edit: Apparently it's impossible to update it or do a upgrade price. The DSi shop really was a piece of shit.
