I can't be the only one excited by the announcement of Pokemon Battle Trozei, can I?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HifNwwr8NoQ
Ooo... That looks great!

First of all, that's funny considering Grinsia looks like a game made in RPG Maker. I have a hard time believing a simple 2D game like that would have a hard time running on a 3DS. Second, Nicalis is porting the game to 3DS and it still shows it's coming out in Q1 2014, so they have until the end of March for it to come out. I haven't heard they given up on it so it still on its way.
said fall 2013 back in summer of 2013 still says fall 2013 on nintendo webpage and heard off another page it was dropped

I don't play handhelds
That's your mistake right there.

Awesome, I'll wait until then and pick up Inazuma Eleven and possibly Phoenix Wright. Or wait for Pokemon Trozei. Or buy lots of credit credit to get everything and get in trouble with the wife. :whistle2:

Think of it this way though, once you buy all the credit your in trouble and it's over. Then you can go hog wild on the store and buy all the digital stuff you want consequence free!

Guyz, DEFINITELY get Crimson Shroud and Attack of the Friday Monsters if you haven't already.
i got "Attack of the Friday Monsters" I could not get myself to pull the trigger on Crimson Shroud. It seemed like a complicated game and having lots more elements of RPG. I have few 3DS, games. Make any case for Crimson Shroud? I may consider purchasing it.

You get to roll virtual dice. BAM, game sold.

MORE VIRTUAL DICESESES!!! Wait, that's not right. Magic soccer powers?

I'm only an hour into it but it's neat so far.
I am not sold just yet. Plus, I didn't think I was going to spend more than $10 on the e shop store, and only purchased $10 of credit. Arghhhhh. $19.99 seems reasonable, but will have to wait. I got attack of friday monsters, and crimson shroud. I believe I have enough for one more $2.99 decision decisions to make, being eyeing "The Starship Damrey" it is only on sale to 2/23. Dam it.

Well next week you can get eShop cards from BBY for 20% off so I would wait regardless since it's not on sale. I only caved because I had $20 worth of discounted credit left after buying the rest of the guild games I wanted.

I agree, I can hold of a few days and make that big of a purchase. I may settle for "the starship Damrey."

Why I'm repying to stuff late from days ago, I have no idea. This is my sad life.

They made a DQ8 port work on iOS and Android, so I imagine it wouldn't be too difficult for them to get it to work on 3DS.
I'm not sure it was a port for iOS and Android, or at least it certainly wasn't a straight port. I think a lot of reprogramming was involved. Maybe that's not the case, but either way, it's not as if it's going to run on your gramma's Android phone. It might not even run on my iPhone 4. And the 3DS is a different beast, vastly different from an iPhone or an Android phone, designed to do different things (more below)

Grinsia was an ios and android game that was to come to the 3ds way back last fall and last i heard they gave up on it cause it was too hard for them to work it on the 3ds
Yep, it's just an issue of entirely different system architecture, and I imagine this would be even more pronounced with a game like DQ VIII. And Japan is so phone-crazed that I suppose they'll stop with the phone ports and won't bother with 3DS or Vita.

I think 8 was the best selling DQ game in the US?
IX wasn't?

Yeah, I've already got Crimson Shroud and Liberation Maiden from the first time those went on sale, but $2.99 was the sweet spot, I think, for Attack of the Friday Monsters and Aero Porter. Man, and the only reason I didn't bring my 3DS is because it doesn't have a voltage-compatible charger. NINTENDO Y U NO LIEK TRAVLR?
I had this issue as well. On my first trip to England, I had to buy a flaky USB charger for my 3DS. "IT CHARGES EVERYTHING" said the Game salesman. Now I have a Chinese version of the charger which runs with both UK and US voltage. But it's annoying as hell that Nintendo couldn't be f*cked to just include an adapter that works on multiple voltages. Really annoying.

I'm replying to things and jumping from topic to topic. My life. Really. Anyway, the thing is, they had a tough time getting Sonic the Hedgehog to run on 3DS, too, and the Genesis ran at what, 3 mhz clock speed? It's not an issue of just slapping something from a less powerful system onto a more powerful system. You have to get fancy. Stuff has to be rewritten.

I love that you folks are now doing my work for me. Kudos. And +1.

Are they for little kids? I don't play handhelds but my 3 and 5 year old have 3DS XL's.
No.

For kids that young, I don't think any of the Guild games would be appropriate, except for Aero Porter maybe. Haven't played it myself, unfortunately. Attack of the Friday Monsters looks like a kid game, but it's actually very slow-paced and it mostly focuses on instilling a sense of childhood nostalgia, so that might not work out.

Crimson Shroud is pretty much a 3D D&D match, so you have complex rules and potentially scary stuff (dungeons, skeletons). Liberation Maiden might be fine, it's just pretty difficult to control.

You might want to consider Witch & Hero. It's on sale at 2.79 and is also pretty fun.

Had $8 of credit, so I'm currently downloading Attack of the Friday Monsters, Crimson Shroud, and Gunman Clive. Feel like I had quite a successful little shopping session.

I second the controls on liberation maiden. The game itself is great, but the controls are not as tight as it needs to be. Witch and Hero is great fun... but the last boss is SUPER cheap. Be prepared to restart that level several (if not, many) times before you beat it.

I have my 3DS XL with me here in Chile. Nintendo doesn´t need to include or make adapters for that. There are universal adapters you can get. How else do you think people travel with their cell phones or any appliances?

You just need a power converter. In the US its 120 volts while here in Chile its 220 volts so you need a adapter here that down grades the electric.

You have to be careful though because you can probably brick it really easily if it doesn´t get the right voltage.

I actually bought a cheap Japanese DSi one (since they use the same charger) a couple years ago when I was living in Singapore (fortunately it worked great), but after I went back to the States, I somehow lost it in my own house. I haven't been able to find the damn thing since, and I haven't been traveling abroad enough since then to get myself to justify buying a new one.

This latest development may change this. Bluh.

Well there's good news and bad news.  The good news is that there's going to be a sale of AA Dual Destines.  The bad news is that the sale is probably going to be EU ONLY.  Going to be about 20% off which isn't amazing but it at least means that there's the possibility of us seeing a sale on it at some point.

Recently started the Professor Layton series but went ahead and bought Attack of the Friday Monsters, Liberation Maiden, and Inazuma Eleven because more Level-5 and they look interesting. I'm gonna go on a Level-5 gaming marathon, Bravely Default can wait.

Many thanks to all for the opinions expressed in this thread. Picked up Liberation Maiden, Friday Monsters, and Crimson Shroud. And thanks OP for keeping us updated.

If only there was some way that we here in America could soon save 20% on an eShop purchase...if only...

(this post brought to you by "I really just wanted to try out this new yellow sarcasm font" of America)

Except I want 20% off the 20% so I get 36% off!

But wait - wouldn't you use ShopDiscover or ebates and bank RZ points as well? So what's the percentage then, smart guy? ;)

Like I have a Discover card.
Well, you can use ebates and I'm sure you get RZ points (which you can factor in as a percentage). And yeah, you should have a Discover card for the 5% stuff. Like always with you though not sure if serious...

Yeah but most BBY purchases are GC! I didn't know ebates supported BBY though, never really paid attention to it because there was never anything I used on it whenever I looked.

Still, though? I thought trade-in there was essentially dead. Even though I can trade again I just haven't done it much recently. Though having just said that I think I see one I marked as having $70 on it. D'oh! I wish I had used that when I bought a new dryer the other day - or any of the other 10 orders I've done in the last couple of months including a near full price purchase of Bravely Default (well, minus GCU). Oh well...

So tempted by that Etrian Odyssey, especially if I get some cards from Best Buy and get it for $18. About $10 in savings from getting a physical copy of it. Hard to pass up.

Esp. since they're such long games, it's the kind of title I wouldn't mind having installed versus having a cart for. Tempting.

LOL. Alright, so in case anyone was as confused as I was about these constant SMT discounts, there are 3 different SMTs they appear to be circulating in and out. I have no idea what the difference between them is, but, yeah...at least it isn't the same game as I had assumed. Still weird, though.

 • Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor
 • Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers
 • Shin Megami Tensei IV

Devil Survivor is a (great) SRPG. Though you only control 4 characters - I guess its more turn based with a grid. Soul Hackers is a pretty good first person (kind of) dungeon crawler RPG. I haven't played SMT 4 yet. Everyone should get Devil Survivor (overclocked if you have a 3DS). I really liked that one.

Yeah, as I've said before I'm just waiting on a discounted physical version so that I can sell it off if I don't like it. I do want to give it a try, though, especially if SMTxFE actually materializes. Thanks for explaining the differences.

Overclocked is $23 at amazon. good price imo.

SMT IV is part of the mainline series, and is a traditional jrpg. The characters from I-IV will be the characters that appear in SMTXFE.

Devil Survivor is probably the way to go if you're interested in the series because of fire emblem, since the team making that game also makes the devil survivor games.
