Mostly. eShop is an updated version, different publisher (Reef Entertainment instead of Giant Media Group).

Plus some other changes like less italic fonts.

Nintendo incorrectly claims the game is digital only.

Nintendo Zone isn't my king of thing, but I once took a quick glance aboard the WA state Clinton-Mukilteo ferry about a month or so ago.
BestBuy used to have nintendo zones, but I guess they all shut down. All the mcdonalds in my area also have nintendo zone (at least that's what the nintendo zone website says)

All or some Burger Kings do, too, and some Starbucks do (I guess the Starbucks who rely on AT&T for their junk and not Google, so maybe only old Starbucks). Ruby Tuesday has one here in my town, too.

What really surprised me was getting a bunch of streetpasses at Home Depot. Had no idea they had a Nintendo Zone. I can get it from outside, too, so I drive by every once in a while and pretend to look at fencing. Yes my life is that sad.

Maybe I'll try Home Depot, although the closest one near me is pretty far. McDonalds locations here are notorious places for crackheads so I hope no one will try to jack my 3DS and sell it for a pocket full of stones. It'll be a Boulder Dash then for real.

Just go hide in the bathroom if you can't get the pass from outside. :)

Hah, totally going to try driving through the Home Depot parking lot... there's one in the same lot as the Super Target I go to all the time...

I can just drive (really slowly) through like that loading zone they have, then I stop at the end kind of out of the way and pretend to look at fencing out the window until I get that blessed green light. Then I stop in the Burger King parking lot on the way home. Then I cry into my pillow.

You McDonalds is great. All you have to worry about is crackheads, the rest of us have to actually worry about the FOOD!

What you need to do is be on the lookout for other sad sacks looking at fencing, and trade friend codes. Then you can be miserable together.

I do a circuit some nights of Best Buy, my credit union, and Mcdonalds. Good for 10 street passes in about 15 minutes since I can get them all from the parking lot.

While we're on this topic:  I regularly get 6 streetpasses at one time from a Nintendo Zone (for the Plaza, I mean); if I go to another zone, I then seem to get 3 more.  I am also meanwhile getting streetpasses for various games (although sometimes for certain games, I won't get anything).

Is that everyone's experience?  I remember the first time I got a bunch of streetpasses at once from a Nintendo Zone, I was so confused and thought I passed a group of gamers.  Now I just look for other sadsacks looking at fencing.  I'd love to meet someone else in my town who gives a crap about streetpassing and drives past Home Depot the way I do.  Ha.  Surely there must be someone.

So much *chatter* about Nintendo Zones and such. Hope this thread doesn't get Graveyarded...
The PSN deals thread has so much chatter I gave up even trying to keep up with it, and it's fine. This one is mild by comparison (no doubt due to the lack of deals).

Just make your own Nintendo Street Pass relay. It'll double as a Nintendo Zone. /discussion
I don't have a router I can configure. :/

Sorta like how the 3DS deals thread didn't right?
That was an abandoned thread with no one maintaining it. Plus Nintendo Zone discussion is BARELY off topic. It's not posting pictures of attractive female newscasters, or pages of debates about oreos and mayonnaise, like what caused the split of the PSN thread.

It won't. Chill.

Yikes! With all the money you spent on those, you could have gotten something good instead. :)

So I've played a few hours into Demon King Box:

First, the game is a tower defense game that plays similar to swords and soldiers -- Troops follow a lane down to attack enemies coming down the same lane.  The stages I played only had 3 lanes, but I can clearly see that later stages can have up to 5 lanes.  Each monster you summon costs mana and you have a maximum mana pool.  Each time a monster reaches the end of the lane, mana is regenerated back into your mana pool or if there is an enemy hero, the unit will attack the hero.

Each stage has a victory condition.  Sometimes it is eliminate all enemies, sometimes it is subdue the enemy hero.  Beating a stage grants you food which you can use to increase EXP for any of the units you have on your roster.  You can also recruit new troops or heroes after a stage depending on how the story line progresses.  Increasing EXP will increase your level which in turn grants more damage (or healing for some units) and more HP.  Some units have special abilities that unlock.

You can also use the food for heroes.  Each hero has HP which also increases with level.  Finally, heroes allow the party to have a special ability (boost stats, bonus hp, more speed, etc) for a limited amount of time.  As heroes gain more levels, they gain other special abilities up to a max of 3.  There is also an ability to fuse monsters to create other monsters.  At the present time, I have not completed enough to fuse any monsters.  You lose if the enemy units get to your end of the lane and attack your hero's HP to zero.

I have completed the first 4 stages, with the 5th stage being uber cheap, requiring me to grind out experience from any of the previous stages that I've completed.  Though I could not complete the 5th stage, the 6th stage opened up for me to continue on with the story.  I would try the 6th stage, but my OCD'ness will not allow me to beat stages out of order, so for the time being, I'm grinding away to increase levels on my troops until such time I can complete stage 5.

Overall, the storyline is ok, the dialogue is subpar.  The music is decent and the artstyle is reminiscent of the disgaea series.  I can't say either way that the game is worth $4, but I sure have spent most of my 2 hours grinding for experience.  The number of heroes (that I can determined by the locked silhouettes) is substantially high compared to the number of regular units.

there is a very easy way to beat the game... Use slime queen or whatever shes called and max her out.

Swet hani is her name max her out and use the slime monster.

first spell is add 30 points

2nd spell is each slimes splits into 2 within 30 seconds

3rd spell is put a slime on each line

and use MASKED something (its the 3rd fusion demon) max him out

max out the slimes and you will win almost every battle in no time

really hoping you dont expect to get 100% in this game cause the game is bugged. Noone can figure how how to unlock the 23rd demon. Played the entire story line and the 12 stage post game stage and the 23 demon is still blacked out. Ohters have played it up to 30 hours and still have not figured out how to unlock the 23 demon. Also i have found a number of stages where you have to beat 123 demons and only 122 are summoned. (meaning you need to redo the entire stage

The slime queen is actually the one I can not beat:

The slimes are too fast for me to dispatch with the basic level units. I've maxed out the pig, and working on the archer now. I think it might be useful to increase the level of my hero to a respectable level, but for now, I'm only getting through 1/2 of the enemy units before I'm overwhemed.

if i can remember that far back i think i max out my pigs archers and one other flying unit

The difficulty certainly ramped up unexpectedly as the first four stages were as very simple and easy.
there was one stage looking it up now Demon hot spring. where i was done with the 2nd area map before i could beat it cause it does nothing but spams flyers in that stage..

the AI is busted i think as well. if you lost a stage on a certain line just line up all of the monsters on that line cause every time you play that map the same monsters come down the same lines

out of the 12 post game areas 9 of them can be beat very easy using that boss and monster line up still trying to do the other 3 but they spam major and hard to win those battles. Got 3 more post game maps and im done at 12 hour mark... Still noone has found a way to unlock the 23rd demon.

i still dont see where they say there is nudity in the game i dont see any.

I believe this is where I am stuck, the hot springs... where the slime queen is. Can't beat her no matter what I've tried. I'll try memorizing units and which tracks they take coming down, but I still find my units are overwhelmed in the end.

I believe there was some mention of nudity early in the game

I think the piggy hero accidentally stumbled on the slime queen and saw her boobs. The story sequence then showed a picture of the queen, though I dont think they showed her topless, though I could be mistaken.

Brah, don't be jelly of my less than $22 spending spree. This is a fortune to me that I won't normally get to do. A once in awhile thing like eating a Quarter Pounder from McDonalds when I'm used to the dollar menu/millionaire. Besides, Best Buy's been bad to me in service in the past, except when it comes to e-shop deals. :booty:

Brah some people prefer a whole lot of stuff to one or 2 actual quality games.
Where's the 2 $11 quality games at? I needs the recommends.

I ain't jelly, meng.

Atlus is having a huge sale right now, for example. Most of the games are $15 (both Etrian Odysseys, Devil Survivor, others) or $20 (SMT IV). Personally I'd rather have one of them for less than $20 (and then I'd buy and hoard the rest, too!).

Atlus games might not be your thing, but that's just off the top of my head. You could also just buy Shovel Knight for $15. Or Project X Zone. Or Weapon Shop de Omasse or Attack of the Friday Monsters or Inazuma Eleven.

But maybe none of them are your thing. Just saying personally I'd rather buy that stuff (or just one of the above) than a hoard of kinda junky stuff. I had more fun with EO IV alone (or Devil Survivor, or any of the above) than I would have with all of that other junky stuff (although I did pay full price). You might think the games I'm suggesting are junky instead, though, in which case fair enough. :)

Yeah, I kind of want physical releases if possible.  Already have SMT IV, Attack of the Friday Monsters, and Project X Zone.  I'm not really interested in the Etrian Odysseys games, Inazuma Eleven, and Devil Survivor games at the moment.

Shovel Knight and Weapon Shop de Omasse are on my radar just holding out for a better deal.

Suppose I should get the 3DS part of the list over here, eh?

Phoenix Wright®: Ace Attorney® - Dual Destinies - $17.99
Monster Hunter™ 3 Ultimate - $19.99
Resident Evil® Revelations - $8.99
Resident Evil® Mercenaries 3D - $8.99
Super Street Fighter® IV 3D Edition - $9.99

Finally! Our months of patience have been rewarded!!! Now to wait for the next game so we can get a sale on the x Layton game...

Now I just need some freaking power so I can buy Phoenix Wright and EO Millennium Girl.
Yeah, no chance I'm going to be waiting that long on Layton v Phoenix. Wouldn't bet on lasting the weekend.

Finally a Phoenix Wright sale! Now we just need the Pokemon TCG.
I gave up and bought a Game Boy Color and Pokemon TCG. Wish I never would have gotten rid of all my old stuff in the first place. (Rebought the Dragon Warrior games and a few others, too, and luckily my brother had been hoarding some of my old GBA games, though others are missing in action. /life-story)

If any of you were thinking about getting Azure Blaster Gunvolt, there is a special bonus. Buy the game before November 28th and receive the 8-bit throwback Mighty Gunvolt for free.

Outback Pet Rescue 3D - $19.99

Thorium Wars: Attack of the Skyfighter - $7.99

Azure Striker Gunvolt includes a code to get another game for free for the first three months after launch, which is supposed to be a blatant retro-style Mega Man clone with three distinct heroes that you can choose from.

Damn, DD is tempting. I still haven't finished any of the DS games, though, lol. And I'm sure playing in order is important here. But then everytime I go to finish the first game I think about the updated collection that's coming to 3DS.

And I almost bit on SMB3 the other day but realized it wasn't cross-buy (for shame!) so indecisiveness once again got the best of me.
