So basically this is going to be to the 3DS as the DSi was to the DS. Better hardware but they'll co-exist for some time to offer different price points. Hopefully that they're bringing out a major port for it means they realize having like a half dozen DSi titles wasn't enough. Still wonder how many exclusive titles it will have since you've got to be a system seller or port to target it exclusively. Same problem they've had every time they've split the hardware going back to the expansion pack.

Of course I'll be buying it but my biggest personal problem is then giving up my limited edition system!
Unless they're going to come out with a Pokemon one that I want as much as I wanted the Pikachu XL that I've already got, assuming I was to get a New 3DS XL, I'd keep the Pikachu one also. If they come out with a really cool Pokemon one, I'd consider selling my Pikachu one.

I think it's a weird place but it's probably to stay consistent with their placement of the sticks on WiiU controllers. It better work with games like RE:R and Kid Icarus that worked with the CPP.
That's probably true. Ever since the 360 I can't stand non offset analog sticks. If it doesn't work like the CCP for those games, that would be unexcusable.

On topic: Just downloaded Azure Striker Gunvolt but I don't see an option to download Mighty Gunvolt. It doesn't have it's own listing/download page in the eShop but it DOES say it's included on the ASG page. Anyone else figure out how to DL it?
Go in this order: eShop, Menu, Settings/Other, Account Activity, View Receipt for Azure Striker Gunvolt, scroll down and code for Mighty Gunvolt should be somewhere towards the bottom.

Except if it's not out here this holiday then it won't be in time for Ruby/Sapphire and that means who knows when we'll get it. Then as usual once I buy one they'll come out with a Zelda system two or three months later. This is going to make me very unhappy I expect.

I'm in no hurry to get the new system, and really Hoenn isn't my favorite region, so unless they had a Metagross New 3DS XL I doubt anything from the Ruby/Sapphire games would have enticed me. I'd want a Charizard New XL or something to convince me to buy.

Actually with the replaceable plates, I'm kind of curious how limited edition releases will work. Will there be limited edition plates or will they sell a whole new system for it?

Well if you watch the video, the faceplates are for the smaller 3DS only, the limited edition ones are for XL only (Monster Hunter 4G and SSB). The XL/LL appears to not come off b/c it covers the entire system and cameras, the regular 3ds has the top part where the cameras are as a solid color of white or black which is not removable as far as the faceplates go.

Ah, I thought maybe they were only showing it off on the smaller unit. Okay, then I'd still be waiting for a cool XL.

For those of you getting Azure Striker Gunvolt and are looking for the download code, I recommend NOT downloading it in sleep mode. Once the download is complete there will be a "use" button that will enter the code and start the download of mighty Gunvolt automatically.

I did this, and when I clicked Use Code it gave me an error. :( Now I'm trying to read my download list (what a mess that is, ugh, I feel like I'm on the PSN) to see if it's on there. I guess I'll have to find my receipt and enter the code manually. Glad someone explained how to do that or I'd have had no idea.

Edit: Did this, and that worked for me. Thanks!

Ultimate NES Remix--Totally confused. Is this a new game, or is it a 3DS compilation of the Wii U versions?

Fantasy Life--Is it September 26 for NA and EU both? I was thinking October 24 was the NA date.

I'm so full of questions today and no answers.

Fixed. They don't go into specifics on the NES Remix, so it could go either way.

Damn, was hoping for a physical release,I appreciate the reply nitrosmob
Me too, just like Ace Attorney Trilogy and the current Phoenix Wright DD game. I will get all 3 eventually though, with DD coming first because of sale and likely Azure just cause I like these type of games.

I do not know, but from reading Joystiq, it will be the same 16 games that were featured in the Wii U versions, so you can take that for what it's worth.

My guess? Probably a definitive version of the existing games.

Yeah, that seems logical.

I'd much rather have it on 3DS, so I kind of wish I hadn't bought it on Wii U. And we all know how often Nintendo stuff goes on discount. Alas. I've barely touched it on Wii U, but I know I'd play the hell out of it obsessively on 3DS. The only thing I'd miss would be hearing the classic tunes through my awesome stereo system.

I wonder if Dr. Luigi will get a 3DS version, too. (I got that one for free, so I won't whine about that.)

I actually thought 3DS would get a Game Boy Remix or something. I still have my fingers crossed for that and SNES Remix.

Edited to say I've edit this about 10,000 times.

Already have the Wii U versions as well (and played through most of each), but because I'm whore for this kind of stuff, I'm sure I'll eventually buy the 3DS version as well.

Well we're getting a WiiU compilation of the two NES Remixes with a "Holiday" release window so I would expect it's the same package ported to 3DS.

Can someone tell me how many blocks phoenix wright takes up?

And is yugioh zexal getting a physical release too? I heard they cut a lot of content for no reason(likely because the show isn't as far along over here).

As someone who has enjoyed the Persona series and SMT IV and what I've played so far of Nocturne, would anyone recommend Devil Summoner or Devil Survivor at those prices?

Devil Survivor is pretty neat. It's a fun turn based like strategy RPG like game. Decent story for what i've played. Devil Summoner feels old school, and it should be as it's pretty much based on a Sega Saturn game. I haven't gotten through much in the game, but it does feel dated and is pretty tough. I would recommend it a bit but not before survivor. Survivor is just a good game.

Depends on how patient you are. Those games have been on sale for $15 so many times as of late that they're bound to drop to $10 sooner or later.

oh man I'm tempted to get Ace Attorney but since I get charged tax it may end up being more expensive than getting it on ios
Tax or no tax, the sale price will still end up being more expensive than the iOS version. The iOS version is $14.99, while the 3DS version is on sale for $17.99. Tax on the iOS version puts it to, I believe, $16.32 here in New York, which is still cheaper than the 3DS non-tax sale price. No matter how you look at it, you won't be getting it cheaper than the iOS version. Not to mention the fact that the extra case is a dollar more on 3DS.

Save Data Transfer Tool
I googled it, and I found out it doesn't do what I hoped it would.

"Save data can only be transferred from the retail version of software to the downloadable version. You cannot transfer save data from the downloadable version of software to the retail version, and you cannot transfer save data between two copies of the retail version of software."

At first I thought I would be able to transfer save data between two physical copies as well. Good to know that magic doesn't exist.

There ARE devices you can buy online that are designed for backing up save games off of 3DS carts, but they (obviously) aren't made by or endorsed by Nintendo.

Yeah I really wish there was a way to just backup your saves onto the console for safe keeping or if you dump 90% of your 3DS library during a GS promo.

Yep, basically what Sony has on Vita with PS+ cloud storage would be great or just a local version of that at worst. I'd like to have some sort of ownership/control over the saves.

Thanks for the heads up on Phoenix Wright. I was able to get some $10 eshop codes half off at gamestop with those kongregate coupons and was looking for something to get. I always wanted to try Dual Destinies and now the price is right.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see. I'm still confused. But yeah, what you said above makes the most logical sense. Guess I'll be happy either way and shelling out my bucks.

I would say get both!

I agree; Devil Survivor is just plain great, one of my favorite games of all time. I still think you'd like Devil Summoner too, though.

Ultimate NES Remix, Gunman Clive 2, Dedede’s Drum Dash Deluxe, and Kirby Fighters Deluxe have my attention.  Might have to pick up some Nintendo money soon.

I did the same thing. $18 is still too much for digital, but $10 was hard to pass up. Plus I can probably do *something* with that leftover $2.

Kinda bummed that the DLC episode isn't on sale though. Anybody know if it's worth picking up another eshop card for?
