You forgot the yellow sacasm font. What they really need is a dragon's crown sale to go under $30. But this is for another thread's discussion.

As much as I love Atlus, the same games go on sale, though their selection is quite limited on 3DS to begin with. I think this falls right in line with all the club nintendo rewards (particularly punch-out and mario kart) being recycled as much as they are. It just goes to show you how limited a library Nintendo has for it's populace.

They should put Bravely Default on sale and as a special bonus every digital purchase gets a crushed box sent to them from Amazon.

(This one was beaten up so badly during shipment, it went from black to blue!)

Man I'd probably scoop up a digital copy of SMT IV if it was $20 or most of those other digital Atlus titles for $10 each even with the backlog.

It's not the library being limited, it's Nintendo's limited willingness to put them on sale.

I see a lot of people complain about how often Atlus games go on sale, but I think everyone should see it more as a good thing. If you already bought all their games, sure it might not really affect you, but it's really not something to complain about. The company just wants to make the games more affordable for those who haven't bought it yet. I don't really see what the point is in complaining about it.

Cool. Code of Princess is on sale again. I slept on it the last time it was on sale. This game could be one of those hidden gems.

It's just weird in that it's always the same games.

That, and if they're going to do it why not just decrease the price each time? Or, you know, just make a permanent price drop if you're putting the same game on sale every two weeks.

Dropping the price doesn't give people a sense of urgency to purchase the game if they want it. Decreasing the price each time is just racing to the bottom to eventually make the product unattractive and ultimately worthless because you'll just wait a few weeks or months for it to get dirt cheap.

This is another reason why it would be nice if Nintendo offered DS games on the eShop. Atlus would have more variety to work with like they do on Vita with all of the PSP titles that they released.

Dropping the price doesn't give people a sense of urgency to purchase the game if they want it.
And putting the game on sale every other week does? They might as well just drop the price, honestly. This is starting to reach AMY and Hydrophobia levels of desperation.

I agree with you about the DS library, though. But Nintendo wants to troll by putting them on the Wii U first. Ah well.

They are using their chips to try to jumpstart the Wii U.  They are in over their head with the system because they underestimated the time and resources to fuel their home console.

The 3DS doesn't need help in the games department, so it makes sense from their side as a business that they'd push GBA and DS games on the Wii U to spark more interest in the system.

If they release the games on 3DS or simultaneously, this wouldn't this help Wii U sales.

I wish they would make a DS and 3DS game adapter that you can connect to the Wii U via the SD slot, but I can understand how much piracy would run rampant with that little device. I have a massive DS and 3DS library and would like to have the option to play those physical copies on my Wii U.

Now ya'll know I'm team Ninty all day, but I don't get it. Why in the hell would I want to play games with that tiny a resolution on an HD screen? Sincere question.

It does a much better job at it than a permanent price drop. There are always people that will say "I've been meaning to get this, so I'll grab it now that it's on sale." I'm not saying it's a perfect or great situation to be in, but that's the best way to handle their strategy.

The problem is that Nintendo screwed up with the ecosystem for both where they now compete against each other instead of complement one another like the Vita does with PS3 and/or PS4. There's absolutely no reason to deprive one platform of a great thing because the other "needs" it more when it's not really that good of a fit in the first place. If Nintendo wants to increase Virtual Console stuff on Wii U, there's N64, GameCube, and Wii they could invest in, not portable stuff that has to be blown up for an HDTV. 3DS should have GB, GBC, GBA, and DS to itself with some eShop/retail titles and some basic stuff like NES VC being Cross Buy. Their inability to get the eShops linked sooner has really put a damper on what could've been a great duo of devices, but they could sort of fix it if they wanted to take some drastic 3DS Launch-style measures.

Skip it, consider it $20 you've saved by being prudent. Now apply that saved $20 toward Bravely Default. With $20 in savings, you just got Bravely Default for $19.99. You will be grateful to me.

From the Nintendo Direct:

Steel Diver: Sub Wars will be out as a free-to-play title where you can try out a bit of the single-player campaign and all of the MP before having to pay.

Inazuma Eleven debuts today after the Direct is over. It's a soccer RPG from Level 5, for those that don't recognize that name.

would, but consider that I already have 2 BD CE and also bought it on the eshop, I think I got BD covered :)

Sorry about that! I shouldn't have assumed you didn't already have it! I got caught up in my fervency. I have two of the regular version (giving them as gifts) and the eShop version for myself, so you've got me beat there too!

Yeah, mine has gone quickly, too. :( Glad to have Inazuma Eleven though, despite already have the UK Nintendo DS version! Hope this means 2 and 3 will come, too, since they're already in English... Odd of them to release it so close to Bravely Default. They could have released it anytime, for years now. Doesn't seem like much planning involved, but who knows.

Inazuma Eleven is on there now for $19.99.
Well that came completely out of nowhere! Not that I'm unhappy with it. I've been whining on my Club Nintendo surveys for years about this game and several others in particular.

Oof. I was hoping it'd be more in the $10-15 range...
I think it's worth it, personally. If Nintendo were selling DS games on the eShop, that's probably what they'd cost. And this is a "premium" DS game since it's never been released here (although this is the 3DS version, I doubt there are many changes). $20 isn't bad for a brand new (sort of new anyway), full retail title. But I guess I'm biased since I love weird Japanese RPGs.

I hope the Phoenix Wright trilogy game just announced for Japan gets localized for us. Even though I just bought the first three games for DS not too long ago, I wouldn't mind having all three in one cart/download on my 3DS.

Yeah, I even recently replayed the first two on DS, and I think I'd still buy it just the same, whether I played it or not.

Don't get me wrong, I love the JRPG wackiness as well!

I watched the trailer and it seems like something I'd go for, I'll wait a bit before picking it up though.

Speaking of Phoenix Wright, would someone who has never played any of the previous installations be totally lost in the new one? I've been a little curious for a while but don't really want to go find all the previous entries.

Awesome. Definitely getting Friday Monsters this time. Already have Lib Maiden and Crimson Shroud. The rest look somewhat interesting but even at $3 each I don't think I need them in my life.

Well. I think you should buy it. And Bravely Default. I require you to support my hobbies!

That aside--I think you'd be fine with the new Phoenix Wright! It enriches your experience if you're familiar with the original trilogy (and Apollo Justice), but I think it was designed with everyone in mind. It's hard to say, but I don't think you'd feel lost at all. You could try the demo and see how it feels.

Ah, wasn't even aware there was a demo, I'll give it a try tonight.

And don't worry, Bravely Default is definitely on my short list so hopefully I'll be getting that sooner rather than later. I'd already have it if it weren't for my stupid car breaking down last month and having to buy a new one. :headache:

BD was a good game for the first 30 hours then turned into a grindfest boring game into chapter 5.

whatever you do dont go to gamefaq to find out a game busting team or it will ruin the entire game for you. there is a set up where you can set your system on AUTO and destroy almost anything in this game

I'm a little overzealous when it comes to stuff I want finally getting released. Real life gets in the way sometimes, though! Cars suck!

Okay, so on the one hand, you say it's a grindfest.

Then on your other hand, you say you can put it on autopilot... :) I know you're describing two different issues, but do you see what's happening here?

I'm only about 15 hours in, but I'm loving it. I will take your advice and stay away from gameplay spoilers, though! Of course, if it gets too easy, you can put it on hard mode, you know. I'm really enjoying normal mode and already hoping to replay the game on hard.

Wow! Those prices are even lower than last time! I may have to get Bugs vs Tanks, Liberation Maiden, and Aero Porter at those prices.

This must be karma getting me back for forgetting to buy the games when they were on sale for higher prices before.  Sweet!  Now where did I put those eshop cards?

bought and downloading Inzauma Eleven right now.   Still going to stick with BD till I finish but I am glad it is localized and to support it.

Good man! I'm in the same boat.

I can't be the only one excited by the announcement of Pokemon Battle Trozei, can I?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HifNwwr8NoQ
Yeah, it looks kinda neat! I'm so crappy at match 3 games, though, especially if they're in "real-time." I'd have preferred another Pokemon card battle game like that old GBC one.
