Somebody could conceivably make a new one. It's not like there was any more "chatter" there than the Steam thread, and honestly, there was a lot less than in the Japanese niche games thread.

Now that's a thread full of chatter and nothing but chatter. Well, it's occasionally broken up by MSRP. Euch.

NES and GB/GBC only for now. The only way to get Yoshi's Island on 3DS is to travel back in time to become a 3DS ambassador or buy an ambassador's 3DS.
It's a shame we're stuck forever with the inferior GBA version. If Nintendo hadn't gotten this bizarre idea for GBA games on Wii U, we might still have a chance of getting the SNES version, but I don't think that's possible now.

If it was possible, they would've gotten it on Wii VC at some point during its lifespan.

There is apparently a problem with the SNES version, which is why it never appeared on the Wii VC. I believe it was something in the base code that gave Nintendo problems, but it may be a legal issue.

Right, but what's impossible on Wii might have been possible on Wii U. I had always imagined it was the Super FX chip that was causing the issues on the Wii (as evidenced by no Super FX chip games being on the Wii, such as Star Fox), but maybe it's not possible on Wii U either.

I don't think the GBA version would be out if the original was a possibility, as I don't expect the other GBA Super Mario Advance ports to make an appearance on Wii U.

The only reason why Nintendo hasn't released the SNES version of Yoshi's Island is because they don't own the rights to both the Super FX chip and its code. That's owned by a company who brought the rights to it after Argonaut Games went bankrupt and was liquidated. It's why we haven't seen any other Super FX chip game being re-released.

Oh! Well that makes sense. I guess that answers that.

It sucks because I love Stunt Race FX and while the GBA version of Yoshi's Island has six extra levels added to the game, the SNES is the superior version.

Also sucks that we can't get Star Fox, which means that Nintendo wouldn't be able to release Star Fox 2 if they ever wanted to. The game is actually complete, they just didn't remove the debugging tools from the code. All they would have to do is remove that and translate the game and charge $10, like they did with Earthbound. Instant money.

Looks like I need to pick up a $10 card at Target to get Pushmo World.

I have $16 in my account now but was saving that for Shovel Knight's release next week.

That's a real shame. I'd love for the Super Mario 3 GBA port to hit the store (though 3DS would have been even better).

At least you can pick up one of packs with an AR card.

I bought Inazuma.  So far I've enjoyed it.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's a full game, right?  How much time should I expect it to take?

No prob! I found out, thanks to this site, that I play games way slower than anyone else in the world. At least I get my money's worth.
Challenge accepted.

For reference:
I've put over 700 hours into my first playthrough of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, and still haven't beaten the game. HLTB says completionists should take less than 90.

Completionist time for FFVIII is 92 hours, whereas I regularly max out the (200 hour) clock on a single playthrough of that well before beating it.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 3D - $7.50 - 75% Off - Ends 7/7

Basically, the Ubisoft sale is the "Buy Ghost Recon Shadow Wars" sale because everything else isn't all that good.

Just a heads-up to people who were gonna buy Fractured Soul. If you have a decent PC (I can't imagine the PC spec requirements are very demanding for a 3DS port), the PC version has been greenlit and is finally coming to Steam very soon and will probably hit better pricepoints than the 3DS version. It's already been bundled too, as it's been on Desura for some time.

However, if you'd rather play it on the go, then that's a completely different story.

falls down laughing about that. ghost recon is awful compair to FE
As soon as posted I regretted it because I knew someone would challenge me, lol. Look -- it's no Fire Emblem or Advance Wars, but it's the closest thing to them. I'm speaking purely about the gameplay and mechanics. Not story or production value. FE is obviously in a league of its own in those regards.

Besides slidecage being slidecage, I don't know why anyone rationally can't have both Fire Emblem Awakening and Ghost Recon Shadow Wars since they're both great SRPGs.

I think these are the lowest the Atlus games have been. It's nice to see.
Devil Survivor Overclocked was $9.99 just recently, so it's sad to see it jump back up to $14.99.

On the other hand, Atlus has "sales" on eShop and PSN every alternating week, so I'm sure we will see all these same games for $4.99 and $9.99 again eventually.

Agreed. Shadow Wars is absolutely underrated. I got the physical version cheap back when there weren't too many 3DS games out there and was pleasantly surprised.

Was it that low? I must of missed that. The rest are usually $20 or more though. They've generally been getting cheaper each sale cycle on PSN and 3DS.

Another vote for Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars. Have to pretend it doesn't have Tom Clancy's name or Ghost Recon on it, and it's great. Made by some of the folks who made the original X-COM. I wish it had been an original game done in the same style with creative freedom and gotten the attention it deserved.

It was the original creator of X-COM that created Ghost Recon Shadow Wars, so it had some serious strategy credibility behind it.

Ghost recon is what got me into the fire emblem series.

Bobby, as somebody who's been straddling the fence for a while, I've learned two things: it's often best to keep my console/handheld gaming relatively separate from my PC gaming, and straddling a fence for a long time hurts.
