Wow what a terrible week.

Only thing added to the confirmed meh was Pokemon Mystery Fungeon Gates to Infinity at $25.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon $25
Pokemon Battle Trozei $5.49
Metroid $3.49

Glad I waited for Trozei... will grab at this price!

In a moot point:

I completed Demon King Box over the past weekend.  Can not recommend it at $4.99, wait for a (50%+ off) sale.

Sweet Hana overpowered the challenge in this game.  It is way too short and feeding your monsters to level them up is too much of a grind since you really only need Sweet Hana and her abilities with the slimes... someone (I think rcerboss) mentioned this to me and it pretty much ruined the rest of the challenge in the game... thanks though since I would have spent much more time trying to level everyone one for what would have been a slightly sub-par game.  I did not even bother with the additional fights after I beat the main campaign.  There were tons of typos in the game during the translation and placing units was not particularly accurate when using the touchpad.  You'd need to do it that way though because using the d-pad and a button is way too slow in some scenarios.

The idea of the game and play mechanic is fun, it was just executed poorly.  It took way too much food to level up monsters to max level for the pace of the game.  Monsters are also poorly balanced as most monsters do anywhere from 1-50 damage @when maxed out) and some monsters have over 1k hp.  I realize that there are tanks in the game for a reason, but it's not done right with this game.

What a craptacular sale. The last 2 weeks were great. Why not tamodachi life or even the mii Plaza games? Gba metroid games for wiiu? I predicted trozei, but figured X and y would be included to try and get a few last ditch buyers before omega ruby and alpha sapphire. Mystery dungeon is a "find it at a garage sale" game for me. If this is any indicator my money will be safe next week too.

Yeah, X/Y made a lot of sense to me between the featured characters and getting people hyped for Ruby/Sapphire. I guess Nintendo figures otherwise and Pokemon doesn't really need any help with sales. Regardless this week is a disappointing mess.

Of course I'm still tempted by Mystery Dungeon even though I wasn't overly impressed by it whenever I tried it before flipping it.

I got Mystery Dungeon from a Gamefly sale in December and I just hated how slow the game was the dialog in that game seems like it never ends.

Yeah, terrible week, but that's okay. Week 1 and 2 were decent, and hopefully, week 4 delivers. I just hope Kirby and DK means there will be a (good) sale on Tropical Freeze and/or Triple Deluxe, and doesn't mean there will be a (pointless) sale on DK 3 and random Kirby game for original GB, or something like that.

Yeah a sale on Kirby's Pinball Land would be pointless, because obviously everyone has it already, as the game is fuckING AWESOME !!!
For the record, I mean by pointless as in the same way sale for games like SM3 felt kind of pointless, at least to me, as it it only knocked off $1.50.

We know we're getting Tropical Freeze and AC New Leaf next week. I kind of doubt we'll get Triple Deluxe but ALBW was a surprise last week.

Even putting aside my own disappointment, it's just plain weird that Nintendo didn't take this opportunity to put Tomodachi Life and/or Nintendo Land on sale. To say nothing of Pokemon X/Y or the various other Metroids.

Ah well. Yet another Atlus sale next week, and then definitely Animal Crossing and hopefully-maybe Kirby and/or Earthbound or something.

Any thoughts on Moon Chronicles? I remember being intrigued by Moon when it came out on the DS.
Wondering the same thing myself. I played a bit of the DS original, but I was put off by the difficulty of using the touch screen as an analog stick. As far as I know, this is the only FPS on the 3DS, and with Circle Pad Pro support, it might finally be worth playing. As you may know, this is an episodic game, and episode 2 is still "TBA" as of June. Still, reviews are decidedly mixed; Destructoid's line stands out to me: "There just isn't anything here that hasn't been done better elsewhere, and I can't see anyone other than FPS-starved 3DS owners or hardcore fans of the original being too interested."

I might be better off finally finishing Killzone: Mercenary on the Vita...

Jeez, this thread has really come to life.  I remember when we had 10-20 posts per week, now it's like 50 per day at times.  Guess the deals are just THAT GOOD.

A little too much life, though--I guess I have to admit defeat and switch to digest mode.

Keep in mind that Moon Chronicles is an episodic thing and this is just the first episode, which has been criticized for being short. I believe there are supposed to be three more episodes that covers what the first game had in it and a second season to come later on after that.

So each episode is a separate buy? I think I'll wait until they are all released then.

Oddly Nintendoland got delisted from the eShop like a year ago from the looks of it. My hopes aren't high for next week even though the potential is higher.

why show zero suit samus in the offers section if you arent giving us zero mission
Should be complaining about that in the WiiU thread.

The Smash Bros demo should be available now for those of you who didn't get a code.

Speaking of Smash I just saw that Ice Climbers aren't going to be in it because of the 3DS hardware limitations. Seems weird that they couldn't be a WiiU only feature if they were all but finished and the 3DS seems to have a ton of exclusive content.

Nintendo wanted both base versions to have the same roster of characters.

There's going to be Wii U exclusive features as well as console specific stages.

My guess is that the ice climbers will be Wii U exclusive dlc, that way all of the base customers for both versions have the same roster to work with. Really hoping to see a lot of dlc with Smash Bros U and the recently announced Hyrule Warriors dlc is a great sign that we will be getting it.

If the ESRB leak is accurate (and, from what I heard, it has been accurate so far), then Ice Climbers, Snake, Lucas, Wolf, and the Chorus Kids from Rhythm Heaven will be DLC.

They will most likely be DLC for the Wii U version since they already had them running on there and since people are already complaining that they didn't make the roster.

I have Moon Chronicles and I think the Destructoid's quote above pretty much nails it. It's enjoyable but it's never really that engaging. And it is indeed very short. I'd say wait for a sale.

I played a bit without and then with the Circle Pad Pro. I think that the stylus is more precise but with enough time you get the hang of the CPP.

BTW I haven't played the original DS game.

Guess Nintendo's getting up to speed on the DLC whoring pretty quick. Going from legitimate and worthwhile game expansion to probably charging for unlocking stuff that's already on the disc in the span of a major release! Who says Nintendo moves slowly? :whee:

Lol if you think Nintendo is price gauging with dlc.

They have the most reasonable and arguably most bang for your buck than anything else out lately by a large margin.

Not even close. I wish other companies would follow Nintendo's model for dlc then I'd actually buy more of it at release.

Even if ice climbers is released as dlc, going by Pikmin, Mario Golf, and MK8 it's probably going to be priced at a rediculous value compared to everyone else.

The only game that Nintendo has made DLC the wrong way has been Hyrule Warriors, and I don't even think Nintendo has much control of that one.

Can't wait for MK8 DLC! F-Zero track sold me...

What's so sad is that they can milk the public of their dollars for DLC, but they can't figure out a proper account system? Boy, "N" has really fallen far in recent years. I'm still a fan, but no where near as much as I was 20 years ago.

I also think the fighters will not be sold separately. If it is just the fighters, I believe it will be one pack. If they also include stages and Assist Trophies, then they will probably be split into two packages a la Mario Kart.
