here ya go: http://lofi-gaming.org.uk/blog/2013/10/25/updated-how-to-upgrade-your-3ds-sd-card-to-64gb-and-beyond/

Was looking at that myself today, ended up getting a 32gb card though, since I missed out on the $1 64gb card.

For the record I was being moderately sarcastic and hopefully they don't screw it up. Still don't like their approach when there's no reason to force the 3DS and WiiU versions into the same box.

I'm probably the only one but I am so sick of these immersion breaking crossovers.

Although if a retailer wants to stuff both versions into the same box and offer a discount deal, I certainly wouldn't be complaining.

anyone played that Azure gunvolt game? I never buy digital games at full price, hell i rarely buy digital games at all, but this looks kindna fun, and theres no physical version. I was wondering if its worth the full price for the little 8 bit version you get with it. Or is that kinda crap? Basically wondering if its worth paying more now for the extra game or just getting the main game alone later durring a price drop

Lol if you think Nintendo is price gauging with dlc.

They have the most reasonable and arguably most bang for your buck than anything else out lately by a large margin.

Not even close. I wish other companies would follow Nintendo's model for dlc then I'd actually buy more of it at release.

Even if ice climbers is released as dlc, going by Pikmin, Mario Golf, and MK8 it's probably going to be priced at a rediculous value compared to everyone else.
I can't help but notice you are forgetting NSLU and Fire Emblem Awakening, which were both notorious for overpriced DLC. I haven't played Mario Golf, but from what I've heard that's not exactly a good example of "DLC done right" either.

If old characters end up being shat out as DLC I will be pissed. It's not like they are building these guys from scratch.... if they are gonna be there, they absolutely should be there day 1...... or as free DLC AT THE VERY LEAST. No excuses.

I don't want to see any DLC for this game honestly.... the whole concept of DLC encourages them to throw in crappy characters like Wii Fit Trainer while holding back characters we actually want like Ridley just to squeeze more money out of this.... and no, Nintendo wouldn't magically be immune to this just because their fans swear they can do no wrong.

K-Mart is selling SSB 3DS on launch week at MSRP, but is giving you back $15 in SYWR points.... assuming SSB WiiU isn't delayed, the points should last long enough to use on that game. Consider that your bundled discount, and then you won't have to wait 3 months to play it.

I didn't mind the Mario Golf DLC, I thought it was done pretty well, I do a lot of multiplayer and it gave some fairly good courses for competition, and the price wasn't too bad if you did the Season Pass, which I did day 1. I thought that was okay (though day 1 DLC kind of makes me twitchy).

I thought the StreetPass DLC was done very well also.

The NSMB2 DLC was done horribly. I am not going to say that the courses were too expensive, though I will not argue that they weren't either, but there definitely needed to be some discounting on the bundles, and there wasn't. I also felt like a lot of that DLC just wasn't very much fun, and it didn't add much to the game for me. I think I bought a few DLC courses, played some of them once or twice, and mostly ignored them after that. The only one I liked is the one they made free for a while, and that was mostly because it was incredibly easy to get the top coin value quickly.

I wouldn't personally mind DLC for Smash Bros, but it would be cool if it was done similarly to PlayStation All-Stars where they released characters and a course and let you bundle them up for discounts. However, I think the game has enough stuff already, so I definitely won't be heartbroken if no DLC comes out. The only DLC I'd be super excited by is Mewtwo, and that's mostly so my exbf will stop whining that Mewtwo isn't in the game.

How does the Mario Golf DLC work online? And how does the game handle matchmaking between those with DLC and without?

To be absolutely honest, I only play Mario Golf with friends, and I always play it by allowing all courses and having the game randomly select a course for us. That being said, when I would do that before one of my friends had purchased the DLC, it did not ever select the DLC courses.

Erm, DLC isn't why Wii Fit Trainer is in the game. Sakurai has said on numerous occasions that much of the roster is chosen based on how surprising a fighter would be and if they can get an interesting playstyle out of them. Villager was supposed to be in Brawl but they couldn't think of a decent set of attacks to give him. Ice Climbers are DLC because the AI partner has a tendency to break the game's code, especially on 3DS. Lucas was probably cut because Nintendo doesn't need to advertise Mother 3 anymore.

Rule #1 in marketing: Never believe more than half of what you hear. That's a quote my old boss loved to throw around and for the most part I've foudn it accurate. I don't know Sakurai personally, but odds are if he's made it as far as he has in any major corporation he's not above stretching the truth of flat out lying..... I'm sorry, "marketing". He can justify Wii Fit Trainer any way he wants, and I'm not saying there isn't truth to what he says, but I'm sure it goes much deeper than that. If we are later asked to pay $$$ for Geno or Ridley, don't think for a second that wasn't planned alongside the rest of the new roster.

If you think topics about holding back characters for DLC weren't at least brought up once or twice during development.... I'm sorry, but that's rather naive. As somebody who used to work in the industry until a few years ago, I can assure you that it absolutely does happen.... and there's no reason to believe Nintendo is magically immune. It's even the same with MK8.... as great as everyone thinks the new DLC will be (and it may very well be that great, not saying it isn't) I guarantee you there were at least a couple discussions about including a Hyrule themed track or two in the original game.

The idea that they couldn't think of legitimate attacks for Villager is ludicrous. I don't buy that for a second. I don't know why Villager was just added but that can't be it.... the "spectacle" is a cinch compared to the actual coding (if that makes any sense). I could understand that being a major part of the reason he was cut in favor of Meta Knight or something, but if they really wanted him in there they could have found a way.

I'll buy that Ice Climbers may have issues on 3DS.... though if they could make it work on Gamecube I would think they could come up with something on 3DS. That's absolutely no reason to make them paid DLC on WiiU though. There's no rule that says the roster has to be identical on both systems. Same deal with Lucas, I don't necessarily mind him being cut, but I'll be furious if he becomes paid DLC.

Ugh, that really sucks, and is why I seriously doubt the MK8 DLC will be playable online.... at least outside of friend matches (which, without a proper invite system, are a pain in the ass to set up on WiiU). The odds of getting a good 12 man race going where everyone has the DLC must be astronomical.

I got it for free via DDP credit and really enjoyed it. It's on the the short side and is a tad unbalanced difficulty wise, but if you like old school action platformers it's easy to recommend. If it was $10 I'd say go for it 100%.

Mighty Gunvolt would be better as an unlockable for beating ASG than it's own title. It's fun but I'm glad I didn't pay for it.

Yeah, that is going to be an interesting situation. Ideally they would probably just do a compatibility update and not split the player base since that never ends well. Hopefully they'll just make it so that the tracks are playable online by anyone if they come up in matchmaking. It would be player friendly and a good way to give players a taste of the DLC.

LOL. Yeah, we're not starting that again.
Feelings about K-Mart aside, this isn't a pre-order deal. If you buy the game in store there should be absolutely no problems.... assuming the cashier knows what they are doing.

That's what I'm hoping for, but judging by what filmthedead just said I wouldn't bank on it.

Ice Climbers has consistently been the most difficult character to program (they were almost cut out of Brawl because they were crashing the game and they had a hard time on Melee).

As for Villager, it wasn't programming that kept him from Brawl. Sakurai stated that he didn't think there was enough material in the peaceful and laid-back Animal Crossing series to create enough attacks to make him a legitimate fighter.

Geno has a few hurdles to go through. First and foremost is getting permission from SquareEnix to use the character. And unless they just plop him in the standard Mario stages, there's also any background characters that would be in his stage. Then, Sakurai would have to come up with an original quirk or playstyle to give him (and yes, that IS important to him. The sheer number of unique playstyles is testament to that) or be convinced one can be made. It's also probably why Waluigi isn't playable yet.

As for Ridley, I don't know how that would even work. Most depictions of him have him twice the size of Samus at his smallest. He would have to be massively scaled down to be playable, otherwise he would be like the Sentinel in Marvel vs. Capcom.

I get most of what your saying, I didn't even think about the Square Enix thing for Geno. But I don't think scale is a legitimate excuse for cutting Ridley. I mean it's been awhile, but didn't one (or both) of the Galaxy games have Mario fighting a planet-sized Bowser? And I'm not really a Pokemon guy but IIRC the scale on many of them is off too.... I seem to remember Pikachu, when standing, being no higher than Charizard's knee or so, but that's not how it is in the game. Of course then I guess you could argue it was a giant Pikachu and a midget Charzard lol. The point is it doesn't seem like scaling has been a significant issue for them before.

If nothing else I'd hate to think a silly thing like that is the reason Ridley was cut. I doubt anybody would seriously be bothered by that if it meant he was playable.

While we are on the subject, do we know what Charzard's final smash is gonna be? I'd hate to think it's just some beam thing, that would suck without Squirtle/Ivysaur. They need to find a way to work in his mega evolutions.

He mega evolves and you fly around with him shooting fireballs and doing some spin attack.

omg yes... that sounds kinda like a ripoff of the Yoshi one but I don't even care. So much damn hype..... October needs to hurry up.

New 3DS has been announced and launches November 21... In Australia and New Zeland... :wall:

So maybe we'll get a surprise announcement soon as well. This came through that region'a first ever Nintendo Direct so let's all cross our toes that we get a similar Direct with a similar announcement towards the end of the month. Going to be really weird if they launch new hardware in AUS/NZ and not here for another 4-6 months.

They also announced Xenoblade was going there which means we'll certainly get it as well since they're translating it into English already. Kind of a given with the following of the last game and that it's the title they used to announce the system but you never know with these sorts of things and Nintendo.

As per the all the new Australian focused Nintendo Direct, Australia will be the only country outside of Japan to be able to purchase the New 3DS in 2014. The console won't be sold in Europe or the US until 2015

pretty sure nintendo has confirmed it will be not sold in the states until 2015

anyone expect to see massive price drops on memory cards black friday or do you think

10 bucks for 16gb and 16 bucks for 32GB is almost the bottom line

Love to see a 32 GB hit 10 bucks but doubt it (3ds memory cards)

Yeah but they had also given the impression it wouldn't launch outside Japan at all until next year. It's a long shot but maybe we'll get lucky. Probably not but it's really weird that would be the first territory they would target.

I can't stress enough how weird it would be fo Nintendo to launch a new platform in 2014 and limit it to JP, AUS/NZ. The latter is about the most random market to launch in...

It'd be like Apple saying the iPhone 6 would only launch in USA & Zimbabwe until 2015.

Does it even have a physical release in the US? I can't find anything.
nope when it hit overseas they said they would Not be a Physical release in the states. Also the stripped the hell out of the japan game. Used to be 40 playable people and we are only getting like 12. There is no online battles or nothing like that. Most of the stuff is unlocked right at the start of the game. I want to get the game but its been on sale 2 or 3 times for half price over there and going to be waiting until it hits 9.99 or less here (and dont have the room for it on my card right now anyways)

I wonder if it's because those are the markets they believe they can supply this year, AUS/NZ is a relatively small market geographically close to Japan.

Also they probably have a lot of old 3DSs they want to get rid of in the bigger regions.

another shit week for handhelds ,. at least they are  keeping up with the shit weeks the vita gets

Wii U Retail Download

Hyrule Warriors (Nintendo, $59.99) — The first of this period's wave of big-hitting Wii U retail titles arrives, with a first-of-its-kind collaboration between Tecmo Koei and Nintendo to bring us a combination of Dynasty Warriors and The Legend of Zelda. With an impressive cast and an adventure that travels across Hyrule, local co-op play and a retro-infused Adventure mode, this could potentially give Zelda fans the nostalgia and hack 'n slash combo they never knew they needed. You can read what we think of it in our Hyrule Warriors reviewAvailable from 26th September.

Wii U eShop

Angry Bunnies: Colossal Carrot Crusade (Cypronia, $8.99) — The transition of 3DS games to Wii U continues with this one, a physics-based game that's basically Angry Birds with bunnies. This promises 150 levels, and although we were thoroughly unimpressed with the portable entry we'll give this one a fresh look on Wii U.

Darts Up (EnjoyUp Games, $2.49) — The 3DS eShop title makes its way to the Wii U's oche with some notable enhancements, including a combo feature and a new arcade mode with online leaderboards. Unfortunately these additions don't make it a must-have, as is made clear in our Darts Up review.

Wii U Virtual Console

Mario Golf: Advance Tour (Nintendo, €6.99 / £6.29) — This entry in the plumber's golf spin-off series emphasizes its efforts to incorporate RPG aspects into the basic gameplay, which is an area that some fans of these portable sports games particularly love. It's a bit of a success in this regard, too, as we explained in our Mario Golf Advance Tour review.

Wii U eShop Temporary Discounts

Armillo (Fuzzy Wuzzy Games, $4.99 until 6th October, normally $7.99)

Swords & Soldiers (Two Tribes, $1.99 until 9th October, normally $2.99)

Spin The Bottle: Bumpie's Party (KnapNok Games, $8.39 until 12th October, normally $11.99)

Wii U eShop Demo

Spin The Bottle: Bumpie's Party (KnapNok Games, free)

3DS eShop

Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal World Duel Carnival (Konami, $19.99) — Bringing the TV series to 3DS, this is all about collectible cards and doing battle to improve your deck. There are 11 different playable characters and 40 that make appearances, in total, from the TV show. We weren't blown away by this one but gave it a reasonable recommendation; check out our Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal World Duel Carnival review for the full lowdown.

3DS eShop Temporary Discounts

Glory of Generals (CIRCLE Entertainment, $6.99 until 9th October, normally $9.99)

I've never forgiven them for not translating Fatal Frame IV and bringing it over here (and yes I know about the fan translation). Wasn't a market for it, they said. But there must have been for all the $#^#&*^#$*& shovelware that got released on the Wii, right?

Well I bought Pokemon Trozei last night and it's not quite what I expected (thought it was like a Puzzle League style game) but fun enough so far. It does all seem a bit random and that frantically throwing Pokemon around is better than thinking about what you're doing.

yea the game is awful. you need certain pokemon to unlock other ones and good luck finding out who without a cheat sheet.

got it day one played it a few days and never went back to it

I didn't see this posted yet, but Atlus games are on sale again. As someone who just picked up a 3DS and missed last month's sale by one day, I'm happy they go on sale so often. Don't know what all the normal prices are, but I've been tracking these two.

Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan - $14.99

Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millenium Girl - $14.99

New Leaf $19.99
Star Fox 64 3D $29.99
Donkey Country Returns 3D $19.99
Kirby's Dreamland 2 $2.49
Donkey Kong $3.49
Kirby's Dreamland $2.49
PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures $11.99
G&W Donkey Kong Jr. $1.49

I'm in for New Leaf, Star Fox (going to sell my sealed copy and use my half off credit), DKCR, and Dreamland 2.

I'm only half disappointed about my prediction. Gonna have to pass on all of those. DK3D is a pretty good price though.

DKCR3D was going for like $8 on here 6 weeks ago, and by here I mean the bottom of the page with links to related threads in the trading forum

Animal Crossing is a crazy steal at $20.

Poured hundreds of quality hours into that game and have no regrets buying it physically and then full price digitally.
