Spotpass is... well, spotty. If you own Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3 3DS (And you probably should if SW4 interested you. SWC3 is a largely superior take on the SW4 formula. (Sidenote: SW4-2 promises to be just as different. Koei is really experimenting with this, which would be cool but they seldom actually get it right.)), you should be logging in and getting the Samurai News spotpasses manually through the internet menu every Tuesday. That's 10000 challenge points every time you get a new one but since spotpass does not seem to want to collect them reliably.

And save after you do it too, you goofs.

Xeodrifter - $4.99 - 50% Off - Ends 10/1 - Cross Buy

on the cross buys do you get codes or  do you have to hook up both to the same account  Meaning can people sell the codes off

Looking at Swords & Soldiers as well as Mutant Mudds, but I have both on PS3. Wondering if these are any good on the 3DS, or any different? It would be nice to have them portable.

It appears as free on the other console's eShop.
In the eshop, I thought they did that thing where a code for the other platform was at the bottom of your digital receipt for the purchase you made on the first platform you bought it for?

Fractured Soul is really good but the PC version I think has a far better framerate for your consideration. It's got more of a focus on time attack play than classic platforming but it certainly plays fine if you're not some speeder.

Unlike MSF which, upon realizing it had no puzzles or challenge, called itself a speedrunning game instead despite offering no speed.

Mudds and Xeodrifter tricked me with their hot pixels but they are the most unimpressive paint by numbers indie platformers I've seen. But they're almost never on sale this good on other platforms, except for PS Plus "free" of course.

The Mario vs. Donkey Kong game is the only one that does that, I believe. The rest work like I said.

I know for sure that Mutant Mudds is exactly the same and I think the same is true for Swords & Soldiers 3D.

Mudds was fun but forgettable to me. Xeodrifter was too short but I enjoyed it immensely. For $5 it's worth it, the normal $10 price is way too much.

Dragon Fantasy gave me a code for the WiiU version when I bought the 3DS version.

Oh god, the wife say me playing Hatsune Miku and casually asks "What's that?".  Next thing I know my 3DS is missing.  Upstairs.  In her hands.  So we made a run out to BB to buy her, her OWN copy........ women.  SHEESH

Yeah, how dare she take away your game about chibi girls singing sugary pop songs!

Anybody playing the Legend of Legacy demo? Reminds me of the old Final Fantasy Legend (SaGa) games a bit but not as charming. Only played an hour or so and I'm tired, but it seems like it's just going to be kind of a slog. I've been playing Chrono Trigger lately and sort of just wished I was playing that instead. Not sure how much time I want to spend on this one. Maybe it gets more entertaining but I just seems like running around uncovering generic maps, lots of battles, and opening treasure chests. Hopefully I'm
Missing something

I liked what I played, but the nonexistent story left me somewhat disappointed. I guess if you wanna play a JRPG with little to no story it's fine, then again it is a demo, and maybe in the full game more story elements are presented as you progress through the game.

My impression is that's the path the narrative takes the entire game, just the little tidbits here and there. I'm honestly okay with that, but it just felt boring uncovering maps, opening chests, clicking on things I didn't care about, and fighting lots of battles where the strategy was always the same (admittedly that will change as it goes on).

Guess I was expecting something a little more like the original SaGa games, not a mix of them and a boring version of Etrian Odyssey and Mystery Dungeon all together.... maybe I have gotten old and picky...

I could see that happening as the game goes on, but then again it's hard to tell since it's only a demo. I think filling the map out is both interesting, and tedious at the same time, when you couple having to gain stats through fighting and having to run back to the beginning when you are close to death, you are really at the mercy of the games RNG to get good skills to keep filling out the map, and not die. If anything this could be interesting when you get more into the game, since you will have more skills and stats.

Picked up Olli Olli, not bad. Controls aren't that complex but does have a bunch of tricks that I can't seem to pull with much ease. Think having the 3ds XL makes it tougher.

Olliolli is an endless runner dressed up as a skating game, but it's an actual game unlike most endless runners. Speed, combos, chaining jumps (largely memorized from repeat plays of the level), feed into the score aspect. It's good at what it does but I do not get much of a skateboarding feel. Your tricks are all just jumps with different inputs and different names splayed on the screen. There is absolutely no way for you to look at an "impressive" trick and be awed because the game demands an endless runner's level of focus on upcoming obstacles and you need to be queueing up the next trick.

I enjoyed it from the humble but can't imagine ever playing it as anything but a short diversion. It's a damn sight better than a lot of other diversionary games though.

Escapevektor is in a similar tier but I think it tries to do a bit too much with the line tracing than it can carry. Charming enough story and presentation though.

Also the newest SWC3 Samurai News has mai waifu Lady Hayakawa in it so I'm in a good mood.

I really want a new Yu-Gi-Oh game, and I dont have the systems for the latest game. I kind of want to get Duel Carnival since it's only $10...but it's SOOO intentionally gimped. I mean, the original game was already gimped due to no online (which wasn't a big deal for me personally). But they cut so much other shit for the localization for no raisin at all.

I don't want to support that kind of thing... but it's not like Konami will be doing anything else anyway. Might as well bite if I want it.

I feel like you'd be better off playing the Android/Iphone game than buying that shitty excuse for a Yu-Gi-Oh title.

I was surprised that despite the name, there's no Happy Home Academy aspect that judges your houses by various criteria.

Giant Bomb's Quick Look for it shows off the crazy things Dan did because there's no skill required:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rdeqxeY_G0

The coolest thing is that your villager can sidle/sidestep between items that are next to each other but logically have enough space that you could squeeze between them instead of it just being an invisible wall that required you to leave big paths to get around your house in New Leaf.

I wanted Animal Crossing: HHD. And I still do. But I wont' pay $40 for it.
Just FYI, Dell has it (physical copy, of course) with a $25 GC (expires in 90 days) and free next-day shipping. Still have to pay $40, of course, but probably the best deal you're going to find for quite a while.

Can you roll a Dell gift card into Nintenbux or any other digital currency card? A Dell gift card seems to be only good for rolling into another dell gift card deal forever, unable to ever cash out or escape. At least until you need a new computer from them

Sounds like sour grapes to me...

I'll show myself out.

That's one of the bad things about their press releases, as they don't often include the start dates. I can't find any information about when it was supposed to start. It's just a dozen Nintendo news sites copying the press release exactly.

Here are the new deals for today:

Angry Bunnies - $5.99 - 33% Off - Ends 11/9

Bubble Pop World - $3.49 - 30% Off - Ends 11/9

Toys vs Monsters -$0.99 - 75% Off - Ends 10/1

Winter Sports: Feel the Spirit - $5.99 - 40% Off - Ends 10/1

Crash City Mayhem is worth it at that price if your expectations are appropriately low. Crashing, mayhem, and a city are all included. It's a peculiar niche unique to handhelds, far better than a mobile game but not quite good enough to be worth retail. This niche, I hope never to vanish so long as people resist the siren call of the idiot idea "JUST PUT MARIO ON AN IPHONE."

I had a feeling, what with currency conversion and pricing trends, we couldn't hope for less than $14.99 for SMTIV.

That said, I've had the game on my shelf for a looooong time.

Much backlog. Very 1st world problem.

Shin Megami Tensei IV (Atlus, $14.99 from 5th October until 19th October man was hoping 9.99

Chronus Arc another tablet overpriced game

not sure to buy it or wait and hope for a 50% sale i think grinsia was on sale once though
Grinsia has gone on sale a couple of times. But Kemco doesn't always do that since I've been waiting for Alphadia Genesis on wii u to go on sale from them for almost a year now with no luck

Man, I've been sitting on $50 that I'm eagerly waiting to spend on the 3DS eshop, but week after week it's just more stuff I couldn't care less about. I didn't own a 3DS last year--can anyone tell me if I can expect any good holidays sales?

A bit off topic but is there a better place to share Friend Codes on here, the thread in the 3ds forum is pretty much dead. I checked my friends list and I have like 2 people on there. If anyone wants to add me or whatever i can post my code here. Its tough to get people when both parties have to enter each others code.

Probably one big Nintendo sale of disappointment.
