Just bought that Yo-Kai Watch for full price. Lord I hope it's good.
You have 4 hours to report back before I go to buy my copy from BB. :) If it's terrible, feel free to save me some money. Seems pretty decent though from everything I've seen and read. In fact, prolly won't be able to tell if it's tedious in 4 hrs.

I really liked what I've played in the last 30 mins. The characters are pretty funny. I love RPGs though so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Don't feel bad about paying full price. Hope you enjoy as well Iked

Siesta Fiesta is pretty fun.  I picked it up at launch.  It's a refreshing take on the Breakout/Arkanoid type of game.

I was thinking of getting Siesta; it had a lot of good reception when it released. But I'm still working on Alphabounce. Don't really have time for another brick breaker.

So I loved Persona 3/4 and have never played any of the other SMT games nor any Ertrian Odessey games. Are either of these games something that I should look into? Note, my favorite part of the Persona games was the Social Links/Dating Sim aspect. I found the battles to be meh at best. I watched let's plays of the first ~30min of each but couldnt get a feel for how much "Persona" was in them. Anyone care to offer an opinion?
You will enjoy Persona Q just for the character interaction. It's service for the fans.

The Capcom sales seem to have been pretty regular, about when should we expect another?

As much as I want Phoenix Wright carts, I don't see the sense in paying about $45 for them when I could get it in the sale for $23.

I'd guess that we'll probably see the rest of Capcom's games going on sale between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Probably closer to the latter.

What has been the cheapest price for the physical copy of the standard edition of the Persona Q? $30?
You can get it right now from Jet for $24 with free shipping (after coupon code 20NOW).

Edit: coupon code is for new customers only.

Edit 2: CAG pricetracker says it's been $24.99 several times in the past couple of weeks, with it being $19.99 at Best Buy a while back.

Yo-Kai Watch mini-review.

WTF?!?  These pokemon look like crap.  Or look like.. Pokemon.  Watch the show... pretty funny.

Game tries to explain things.. but doesn't.  The wikia is being updated but a LOT of the info is no good.

The first couple of hours is literally the same monsters over and over and over and over.  To the point where it's boring.

But then, when you do get more... the game tells you to F-off because you can feed them their favorite foods and still not capture them.. over and over and over and over.  Rinse and repeat for each individual Yo-Kai.

10 hrs in, I still don't have a damned fishing rod and people want fish for quests.

Ugh!

Glad I held off on this. I was very tempted, and would have probably bought it if not for the demo, ironically. Best of luck.

If you want to get the most out of Yokai Watch you gotta go through the story, I am/was trying to play it through like how I did Fantasy Life which was slowly progressing through the story while doing mostly class/side quests until I hit a wall, but progression doesn't work that way with Yokai Watch.

BTW, one of the Kindle deal of the day books is a Japanese monsters book. Might be of interest to those playing Yokai Watch that want to read about some of the Japanese yurei. One of the books in the series is called Yokai Attack, so you know where I'm going with this.

Yea, so progress is opening up a bigger world in Yo-Kai.  Still a bit slower than I'd prefer. We'll see.

Other gripes include: your monsters killing rare creatures before you can feed them because you have no real control over the first creatures attack (so happens mine is higher so by time I click target and the new target at least one attack has been fired off), no consistent monster gains even using their favorite foods, and then there's the "timing" mini game with fish and bugs where it TELLS you where you clicked (it flashes and the icon turns red) but then the arrow can stop somewhere on the far side of the circle.

Why bother with the minigame if you're just going to dick with me?

I did, on the other hand, start watching the cartoon and even though it's funny in a elementary school kinda way, even the spouse got sucked in and laughed at the story.  Especially the Poo'd at school story.  :)

Nice rec! I read an excerpt of that Yurei Attacks book and bought it instantly. I like having books in the backlog that can be read in short snippets without losing much in between.

I've played a bit of Nintendo Badge Arcade. It's a neat UFO Catcher game where you try to pick up these badges that you can place on the home screen itself. They essentially act like the normal icons, so you can pair them with fancy themes to make some nice looking designs. There are even some special badges that are unique versions of app icons that launch that app, which is a neat way of offering further customization.

When you start it up for the first time, they give you five free plays with subsequent plays costing $1 for packs of five. You can earn free plays by playing the practice machine and hoping that one of the practice badges you grab is the secret bonus badge that gives you three free plays. They say that there will also be special promotions occasionally via SpotPass with some free plays. There's a special version of the Theme Shop within the Badge Arcade that occasionally offers special themes that fit certain sets of badges that you can get for buying a certain amount of play packs up front, which right now is 10 plays ($2) to get the bonus theme.

I'm not big on the superficial microtransaction nature of this thing, but being able to get some free plays makes it something I'll probably check out from time to time.

So we're finally getting a Direct on Thursday at 5PM EST. Wonder how many surprise releases we're going to have right after it? Considering Nintendo has nothing coming besides Xenoblade X they have to have something up their sleeve. Then again they seem to be basically sitting out this holiday period.

Bout time. People have been wanting that for a long time, since it was released in Japan.
Yeah I remember reading about this on Tiny Cartridge months ago.

I predict a brand new IP that we will all be super-excited about, as well as a revival of a game that will come out of left field.  (when I say revival, I mean even as recent as gamecube).  I also predict we finally get more information about the remake/port of Paper mario Thousand Year Door.

I don't even know what to expect from them at this point. This year has been so WTF for them to the point where it's kind of hard to remember what they've actually done for the final six months of 2015 (not much). They rolled out a good number of new IPs this year and they all seem to have bombed other than Splatoon. Right now it looks like they've completely given up on doing anything this holiday. I really just don't have any idea what to make of what they're doing.

Maybe the next Game Freak Pokemon game? They're in jeopardy of missing their annualized schedule if they don't announce something soon.

Yeah, they are all over the place at this point, and since Iwata is gone, who knows what they will do for this direct? The one constant, is that nothing is ever constant where "N" is concerned. I'm keeping my hopes low, so not expecting much, but they may surprise me, it does happen from time to time(but not nearly as much as they used to).

Well I think Pokemon Z is widely expected as is Twilight Princess HD based on a lot of leaks and technical stuff but again I have no confidence in anything.

Opinions on SMT devil survivor 2 for that price?
If you're not dying to play it, I'd be willing to bet it gets a deeper discount in 2-3 months for the digital version. Just look at all the other digital Atlus games that go on sale, actually this game going on sale so quickly is extra surprising if anything.

Yes! Been waiting for the badge app! Super great for cusromizing home screen.

I think you get a refill of free plays once a day if it's anything like the Japanese version.

EDIT:

Play the practice catcher once a day to get free plays

Man, I wish I didn't have to pay MicroTransactions.............

PS The guy in that video is terrible at crane games.... and this is 2d.

On the starter, I missed 1 block.  Bummer.

1st Practice:  Got 27 badges but only 1 Super Badge (3 free plays)

Haha, gave me 2 extra since I got 20+ so 5 free plays more.

Then...don't. You'll never get all of them if you rely on free plays, but the free plays can get you enough to customize your HOME Menu pretty well.
But but but.... the crane dropped Toad and he was the ONLY ONE LEFT!!! (cries) (spends a dollar) You got me Nintendo, you got me!

Edit: 2 bucks spent... 3 complete sets, this isn't terrible. I have all my Mario icons (both sets) and then my Start menu mario Icons. We're good. :)

May Nintendo have mercy on you haha

I think I like the Hammer version of the Crane game more.

I would think so too. It's more likely than not. They don't release new redesigns of existing Pokemon for nothing. But it could be something else entirely. Since I'm a sap I'll probably get whatever it is anyway.

I'm trying to figure out what the theme is in the theme corner... Today's theme... I guess I can't see it until I spend some real money...

Edit: Oh, I think the game showed me in the bottom box? A plain black boxish theme?

Also, if you buy 5 plays for $1, do you have to use them all at once? Or could I use 2 today and 3 on a different day?

Got 5 free plays from the practice catcher and managed to get 4 of the Zelda styled icons for the system apps. Hopefully I can get more free plays and get the rest.

My issue is my 2 favorite themes are Etrian Odyssey and Monster Hunter.  I SHOULD be getting one with Pokemon MD this month... so they need to give me some matching icons.  AC is great and all but dammit, give me a new AC game.  (not HHD)

I'm sure there will be a Pokemon set eventually. Kind of bastards that they stuck the ALBW Link and Zelda ones beneath some other ones so you couldn't easily pull them out. At least the mechanics seem more fair than the shady physical ones so far. Only had one thing slip out and it was where it grabbed it by the tapered side.
