4GB Xbox 360 S -- 169.99 @ Dell.com

Reading that thing, how is that a surprise? Since 2005 you've wanted the real, full Xbox with a hard drive. it's only gotten worse since then. Drive-less Xboxes have always been for people who don't know anything, just so Microsoft can sell it as a cheaper SKU.

I put a 500gb drive in my 60 gig launch ps3. Sony made the right move by allowing you to use any drive. Microsoft too greedy to do this. Must say, halo reach is awesome though. I just hope my old 360 last long enough to play it until my heart is content. On my 4th 360 due to 3 red rings. This one I've had for over a year now and I expect reach to red ring it soon due to all the intensive alien killing : )

I'm just really shocked Microsoft didn't change it to allow normal drives. I just assumed for sure that they had after seeing that it had a drive bay similar to one on a computer or the Playstation. But nope, the stupid thing is still sealed. GRRRR.

I got the slim by price matching this at best buy and I "jury rigged" the drive from my old one by using some of that outdoor plant weather styrofoam. cut 4 small cylindrical pieces and put underneath it cut to even height with the port works like a charm running reach from being installed on drive now a couple days for several hours no heat issues what so ever. I highly recommend if you have a decent steady hand when feeling for the sata port. It was actually quite simple the hdd pretty much slips into place....

It's probably fine, but you wouldn't really know if you're getting heat issues. The Xbox doesn't report feedback from the drive...unless it totally quit working or something.

I picked one up from dell, then grabbed a 250gb HDD using a gamestop 25% off accessories coupon from the other day. I love it so far :)
