Battle of the Smash Forums: CAG vs Smogon

Hello Smash Veterans!
Over a month ago Zerowing and I discussed about a new tournament idea. This time, CAGs will not be dueling with one another but against another forum! Who is it you ask? A Pokemon site called Smogon.
Now you're probably wondering: "What chance does a Pokemon site have against cheapasses who play the same game to death for over 8 months?" Well, they have also completed 3 tournaments and have already compiled a list of their Top 15 Smashers. So don't be fooled folks. We will need CAG's best to show them our Pokemanz.
HOW WILL THIS WORK?
- First, we open enrollment to all CAGs
- Next, we discuss about our Top 16 through words, fighting, and then lovemaking
- Lastly, we show them our Pokemanz
GENERAL RULES
- Once we select our Top 16, matchups will be determined by ranking: #1 vs. #1, #2 vs. #2, etc.
- Games are to be played as Singles - one-on-one
- Each player begins every round with three stocks.
- Sets consist of three rounds - winner of two rounds wins the set.
- No items allowed.
- The first stage will be a random or agreed neutral. Then, each forum player will get to choose their stage based on their ranking. The second stage will be chosen by Even-Ranking CAGs (#2, 4, 6, ...) and the third stage will be chosen by Odd-Ranking CAGs (#1, 3, 5, ...). Here are the neutrals
- Battlefield
- Smashville
- Final Destination
- Yoshi's Island
- Lylat Cruise
- Castle Siege
- Delfino Plaza
- Distant Planet
- Frigate Orpheon
- Halberd
- Luigi's Mansion
- Mario Circuit
- Norfair
- Pirate Ship
- Brinstar
- Corneria
- Green Greens
- Jungle Japes
- Onett
- Pokemon Stadium
- Rainbow Cruise
- Yoshi's Island (Melee)
- Any stage not mentioned is banned.
- Communication with our opponents will be done via AIM or e-mail.
DETERMINING THE FORUM WINNER
- Each matchup will be worth a certain amount of points depending on level of stakes: #1 winner = 16 pts, #2 winner = 15 pts, etc.
- Points will be summed and a 69-point majority is needed for victory (136 total)
Last but not least, we really need all the CAG Smash veterans to come together and join up once more if we intend to win this tournament. For those worried about commitment, this will only be one game long. And even if you don't make the cut, you will surely contribute by helping the Top 16 with practice sessions before their big match. Besides, do we really want us to lose to a Pokemon site? How embarassing would that be?!
