How to get the deal:

so i can stack those two promotions? so in total i can put 6 bluray movies, the ps3 in my cart (b2g1f and the 3 free ps3) and get a total of around $500?

It looks like they fixed the promo slightly.

You can still get a PS3 + 3 free BluRay movies, but you don't get the extra discount anymore, because the `buy 2 get 1 free' deal was stacking with it.

Still, $499 for a 60GB PS3, with 3 (+5 by rebate) is still a good deal.
 
One slight observation regarding this deal. I have the BN promotion that gives me an additional 10% off Blu-Ray / HD-DVD (and this did stack as well), but when I went to change the option to the free shipping (to save about 7-8 bucks more), the -23 dollar discount was removed. I guess you can only stack three offers in Amazon's system or something. Anyways, I bit, but just wanted to find out if anyone was able to get four discounts stacked on their order...to see if I had done something wrong. Oh well, I'll just get it a little quicker now :)
 
:cry: I was going to go through with it last night but my net wasnt working and now my cart that was 480.34 is now 499.99 so I am not going to do it any more I know it is only a measley $18 but, I am not even going to use the PS3 till I get my new projector, which won't happen till I sell my current projector ohh well I was close though. But I am sure some other cool deal will come up in November now it's just a waiting game

Yep, same here. I thought about it too long while deciding which 3 movies to get. I would have bought one at $476.05, but now I won't even bother.
 
Thought about it quite a bit myself, but after looking for a game I want to play on it I realized I'd be waiting till December before there is anything I'd even want. It's a shame because this was an excellent deal with the slight price reduction, but I can't justify buying it for 8 free Blu-Ray movies which I don't even want. Hopefully holding out will give rise to a better deal down the line.

I bit last night, then today checked gamespot.com to see if there was any decent PS3 titles out or coming soon I missed because I wasn't an owner.

Turns out I didn't miss anything; there just isn't a lineup right now. I'm looking forward to Eye of Judgement, LittleBigPlanet and Ratchet and Clank though. And I figured it was a good bet that it this will be the best deal on an EE PS3 for a good long while.

Also, my 3 movie choices:

Awesome, they're letting me get 3 free blu-rays. Its kind of a costly policy for them, but it is really likely to make me shop there again for full price items in the future. The beginning of the email scared me though.

phew. good thing i ordered the other day. i really had to think about it.

i just got an hdtv and a htib so i definitely wanna test it out on something. i heard blockbuster is gonna only have blu rays to rent, so i went with that.

also...i was gonna see how cheap i could get a 20gb ps3 for, but i heard there was no built in wi-fi. and with the 80gbs not having the emotion engine...that put me in a happy place with the 60gb :)

there are 3 games that i want. resistance fom, ninja gaiden sigma, and heavenly sword (dunno if that's out yet) but those will tide me over...along with my 360 until some really awesome games come out. which is supposed to be next year.

also i live in cali, so i'll get taxed anywhere i buy something other than amazon. even if i could find a ps3 for 399, it would still be pretty close to the 470 i spent. and that would probably not include all these blu ray movies :)

i think i made a fine choice...but with the end of month bills...it's gonna be tight lol :)
 
Thanks for the info on this deal. Ordered the 60GB PS3 and Blu-Ray copies of 300, X-Men: Last Stand and The Departed for $476 shipped second-day air with Amazon Prime. Now I just have to buy an HDMI cable and a game. :)
 
F###, this is a F###ING GOOD DEAL. too bad i got a ps3 already. should of listen to my sister and my inner self. WAIT is the what i should of done.

again, never expect ps3 to have a TERRIBLE start out of the gate.

Dang. I noticed my address had been entered wrong. I changed it before thinking about repercussions and it automatically changed the price as well to $499.99. I wonder if a call in the morning with my original receipt will do any good in getting it reduced back to $478.04. :wall:

Check again and make sure that you aren't seeing the separated prices for your BRs and the PS3. The bottom line is what matters.

I changed the shipping address after they unstacked the deals. I think if you make any change to the order after the price is fixed, they fix what they charge you. I'm still going to have them call me right now though.

And done. It took a while, but everything is fixed for me. I should now get my shipment on the 6th. :)
 
Damn it, I took too long to bite as well. Best Buy seems to be trying to charge me for Halo 3 preorder that I made few weeks ago (even though it won't come out until September 25th). I was going to wait until that charge clears so that I can see exactly how much money I have in my account. Ugh... :bomb:

Cheap HDMI like the $12.99 3 foot cable at newegg will work as well as a $100+ cable elsewhere. Need something longer? Here's a 10foot HDMI for $17.99.
 
Don't forget Monoprice if you need cheap, quality HD A/V cables, shipped quickly for a reasonable cost.

Do I have to go through with the purchase before it registers? I'm at the last phase of checkout and my order is showing up at $568.07...

I added the PS3 and the 3 movies, and they are all shipping it seperate orders (not sure why), and it doesn't credit me.

Default setting is seperate shipments. You may be paying up the butt in shipping costs otherwise. It should reflect the promotional discounts in your total at the bottom before you confirm the purchase. Oh, also make sure you click Super Saver Shipping instead of Standard.

you'll see the discount on the last page of the order, right before your submit the order. But again, the deal for under 499 is dead.

No, whatever discount you are getting will be at the screen where you click Place Order. So don't click if there isnt one.

I can't get this deal to work. Lemme make sure I am doing this right. I just put those movies plus the ps3 in my cart, checkout, and all should be well, right?
 
A plug to anyone else having the same problem as I. Just send a message to customer support and they refund you the price of the Blu-Rays. My Problem was that the blu-rays were shipping in a different order from the ps3 and had a different order number.

I'm having the same problem! it won't come up in the same order, even though it did last night when i was trying to decide what i wanted to get. i knew i should have just ordered it last night!

Did you guys follow the instructions and check the boxes on the appropriate page to add the items to the cart? Or did you add the items separately? Maybe that's where the deal went wrong?

yeah, i did exactly what it said. in fact, all three movies were on the first page (pirates 1 & 2 and casino royale) and it wouldn't work for me this morning. i did email customer service and they said they were going to do a complete refund on the movie order. so looks like i'm getting next day shipping for free!:hot: :hot:
 
Anybody think there will be a better deal on 60 gig's before they go out of stock? All I want is a 60 gig at cheapest possible.
 
OMG, sweet jeebus! If only this could last for another week (which I know it won't), then I would have enough space on my credit card to buy this. I can't believe my crappy luck...
 
My ps3 came today and i like it :) well at least the movies havnt played motorostorm yet and ninja gaiden should be here tomorrow from gamefly
