Dynasty Warrior 5 XL has bad review, it's just an expansion pack, I'd rather get DW5 Empire, I am returning it today. Good thing I didn't open it yet.
What? Trade it here or dump it on Ebay for $20.
I didn't check the regular one (for obvious reasons ^_^). Yes the CE rings up as $8.96.
The regular edition rang up at $29.99 when I tried it.

Went back to mine today to see if they had DW5 XL (of course not), but they still have just about every thing I've seen there since day 1, I seriously don't think there's any CAGers around here (I'm in Roanoke VA). Like everyone else now DW5/Katamari/Radiata/Haunting Ground, but pretty much everything else. I really wish I'd known about Shamu an hour ago, they had one or two and the missus loves underwater games, I would've picked that up. Dare I go back today >_>;

Picked up Indigo Prophecy, State of Emergency 2, Wild Arms, Castlevania:COD, and Gun

I think i'm gonna return SoE2 and Wild Arms 4 unless someone here is interested in trading. I've also got one of the sealed Time Crisis 3 with 2 guncons (from the EB sale).

If anyone is interested in trading for the above, or has an extra sell, i'm intersted in:
Xenosaga II (and the first one, even though it wasn't on sale)
Radiata Stories
Katamari
MGS 3 (preferably the substinence version, but i'd consider the older one)

GAH! I'm still beating myself up for not checking to see if they had Ultimate Spiderman. I think I'll try and go back tomorrow or Thursday, since I'm almost positive I saw one (or more) on the shelves.

Thanks for the post OP. I was able to get some of the titles I wanted. If you're in the LA area, I'm looking for:

Getting UP:LE - looking for the most
Katamari
Gauntlet:Seven Sorrows

They also had collector's edition copies of TH:AW for PS2 which I kinda regret not picking up but I wanted to hold out for the 360 version for the Achievements. Not sure if they've gotten wise to the sale and dumped them in a bin like other stores have though.

Alternatively, next week(starting the 25th I think) Toys R Us is having a Buy One, Get One free deal on Activision games for Xbox/PS2/GC so you can pick up Ultimate Spiderman for any console and get another Activision game like Gun or X-Men Legends 2 for free bringing it down to around $10 each.

Thanks for the heads-up!

I'm also waiting for the 360 version of TH:AW to drop in price. Those Achievements are just so addicting to try and get. :D

Nice thought, but no thanks, I'd rather let others have the game in the store, since there weren't many left in store, I don't wanna go thru all those trouble to make $10 profit.

At a CC I went to today, they had a special cardboard display specifically for this clearance. It was about 4 feet tall and had in big letters $8.96 at the top.

The problem with this is that it wasn't very big (picture trashcan shaped but made out of cardboard and not nearly as wide as a trashcan), and they were stickering the games at $8.96 and throwing the games into this bin.

The problem with this is once people start digging through this bin, the games are going to be completely disorganized and you will have to dig through a 4 foot deep bin to find the games you want. If they add other systems to this clearance, it will make it even worse. I wouldn't be surprised to see other CC's with this setup. It will be crazy trying to find anything especially if more than 1 person is looking through this bin at a time.

Hmm. Might be worth seeing if mine is going to be setup this way. Mine usually has the 'wire basket o' crap' plus cardboard square containers for DVD/game sales.

Does nobody have an interest in a cheap NBA Street 3, a game that hadn't even dropped to $20 until very recently?

Anyone that bought THAW:CE have a UPC number for it from their reciept? I had it checked today at my Circuit City and oddly enough it came up 29.99. I was alittle worried as it was still marked 59.99 and noticed today that they retagged the 8.96 games with the right price.

Just made my second trip, and picked up The Warriors. It makes me sad that I already own pretty much every game on sale >.< My CC hasn't seperated them or anything. In fact they all still have the original prices on everything. Therefore there was a plethora of stuff left. There was one copy of Radiata there, but I didn't get it. The game sucks people. I bought it the day it came out. Trust me, they should be paying YOU $8.96 to play it.

From the PS2 version I bought for $8.96:
047875813113

For the record, there is no plastic wrap on the actual box (the game is held within the cardboard sleeve with faux skateboard material on the cover) so I know for a fact, they scanned the outside bar code.

I do, picked up a copy over the weekend. I haven't opened it yet. I wonder what's new in Vol 3 that I haven't seen in Vol 2. Thanks wlau

if anyone is interested in trading, i can get several copies of wild arms 4, hulk, haunting ground, getting up le, cod, batman and some others. i am looking for katamari, jak 2, jak 3 and sly 2 or other games not in the sale. please pm me.

Good to know. I'm really getting low on new RPGs to play for the summer, and that's the only reason why I was thinking of getting it. I'd avoided it previously due to bad press.

dropped by CC again for antigrav (just wanted the usb camera) so if anyone wants just the game, im willing to part with it for a reasonable price. How much does it cost to ship a game anyways?

On the other hand I thought it was excellent and well worth the $30 I paid for it at launch (GR preorder deal). I would definitely get it at $9!

The $9.99 sale they ran a month ago had this "dump bin". Most of the CC's around here have abandoned the metal/plastic wide dump bin for this cardboard obscenity.

Welcome to the wave of the future.

You should just save up your RPG strength for the Fall, because they're opening the floodgates with games like Valkyrie Profile 2, Devil Summoner, Rogue Galaxy, Tales of the Abyss and Final Fantasy XII. Plus playing Radiata will make you despise RPGs. All like 20 hours it'll take to beat it. I don't know what it is with Tri-Ace. Either their games rock (Valkyrie Profile) or they completely blow (Star Ocean 3, Radiata Stories).

Funny stuff.

The battle system in Radiata isn't too fun, but at least the story is interesting and the voices are good. Believe me, Radiata Stories is worth the money! Its too bad Radiata doesn't seem to be getting much support as I hope Tri-Ace doesn't stop making games like that and Star Ocean 3. Star Ocean 3 has to be the biggest PS2 game I've played yet. 150+ hours and I haven't even beat the game yet!

I agree that the characters were not bad. I found Jack to be funny, and I liked how your equipment showed up in game. But the battle system was just too horrible, the game far too short (though maybe that was a blessing), and the plot itself was boring as hell. Not to mention horrid design choices like placement of save points, and constant backtracking. I don't know what you're doing in SO3 for 150 hours. Another piss poor game. I'm just gald Tri-Ace is making another VP. Just stick to that guys. Seems to be the only thing you can do right.

And yes, the game is about 20-25 hours long. I'm sure you can stretch it out more recruiting every single character, and doing other pointless crap but then why torture yourself like that?

I plowed through 3 CCs and couldn't find Radiata Stories. Hope you could pick it up for me :)
only 20 hrs? I thought it would be longer...
It is a bit on the short side, but I found that somewhat refreshing after all the other marathon PS2 RPG's out there.

Radiata took me about 35 hours, and it is replayable since you pick one of 2 paths about 1/3 through. You could easily get 60 hours out of it if you play both paths. I recruited just about all the non-human characters so I probably spent a bit more time on it that if I had just blown through.

But, once again, I will say it is EASILY worth the $9. I don't see another game in this clearance I would pick over it, with the possible exception of We Love Katamari. I can only hope Wild Arms 4 is as entertaining (haven't played any of those myself yet - but I have both 3 and 4 for less than $10 each thanks to CC).

I also got Antigrav today. Is it true you can use the camera on your computer ?
Has anyone done this before? If you have let me know. This would be quite cool !!!

I think NBA Street 3 is worth more than Radiata Stone.

Do you mean Star Ocean: Till the End of Time? I can't find any Star Ocean 3. Thanks.

I've been able to find all the games I wanted except for Gauntlet and BiA:EiB. I'm hoping the Xbox versions of those games go on sale soon.
Do you mean Star Ocean: Till the End of Time? I can't find any Star Ocean 3. Thanks.
Star Ocean 3 = Star Ocean: Till the End of Time
And yes, the game is about 20-25 hours long. I'm sure you can stretch it out more recruiting every single character, and doing other pointless crap but then why torture yourself like that?
I actually found that getting to know and recruiting all the characters was actually the most enjoyable part of the game. Took me ~100 hours on my first playthrough. The story is decidedly mediocre, but there's much more fun to be had in the stuff you do along the way.

Radiata Stories isn't a bad game. It's pretty fun overall, I just hated both endings. None of them were good. I think it's still worth it at $9 though.

Can anyone tell me how good is Wild Arms 4? I have never played any game in the WA series so I'm wondering what to expect.

Grabbed the last (and burried) We Love Katamari at the local CC. Also picked up an Indigo Prophecy for trade.

Anyone with an Eyetoy (ver. 2, so the one in Antigrav is good, Play 1 is not), or preferably the whole Eyetoy Antigrav 9.00 pack from this drop want an Indigo Prophecy? I'm holding it for trade, but if nobody bites, I'm gonna return it.

Also, I checked the following, all are no go:
Jam Pack 13 ($5.00)
Soul Calibur 3
Karaoke Revolution 1 (w/ mic, Xbox)
Karaoke Party (w/ mic, PS2)
Eyetoy Play 2
Eyetoy Kinetic
Ape Escape 3
Sly 2 (non-GH)

I plowed through 3 CCs and couldn't find Radiata Stories. Hope you could pick it up for me
I'm probably going to go back. If it's still there I'll pick it up, and put it up for sale at cost+shipping. Just don't say I didn't warn you XD

And Wild Arms 4 is the best game in this deal. That was one of the best games I've played so far this year. While it's short like Radiata, it's actually fun and the characters are great. The platforming elements added to the map exploration, and the battle system work really well. Plus it's another great soundtrack with Michiko Naruke. Though she was sick at the time, and only did half of it.

The thing is that it's the least Wild Arms-ish of all of them. The Western elements have been toned down quite a bit in favor of sci-fi. It does do a good job with presenting a dying planet that just suffered through a apocalyptic war. I also like how it portrayed both sides of the war.

Picked up Time Crisis: Crisis Zone for $8.96, thanks OP.
How are you all finding these games, I mean are they on the shelves or in a bin most of the time?
How are you all finding these games, I mean are they on the shelves or in a bin most of the time?
Either or both, depending on the store. The stores in my area have moved the majority of the clearance titles into a bin, but there are a few titles still on the shelves, largely because there's either no room left in the bin or they weren't aware of a price drop for those titles.

Thanks I know I had the right game as the copy I checked definately had the faux skateboard material. I'm just rather dumbfounded as it was 29.99 like the regular THAW and I've never had a YMMVish type problem like this at Circuit City before.

I managed to get two copies of Indigo Prophecy and I also bought Ultimate Spiderman limited edition for 19.99; I couldn't find the regular version so I just bought this one for my younger bro. If anyone wants to trade\buy Indigo Prophecy give me a PM, else I'm going to give it away as a present to one of my friends.
Is Ultimate Spider-Man worth it? My CC has one or two left. I liked Spider-Man 2...
If you like Spiderman 2, then Ultimate Spiderman is similar except you can be the bad guy and more enemies.

Greatest Hit for $9 can't go wrong.
