Family Guy Vol 5 is $25.99 at Amazon right now. I went ahead and ordered it, different cover art isn't really worth the extra $3+ at Best Buy to me.

lol at least until I actually see that cover art, anyway. :)

I went to check Amazon and lots of reviewers complaining about the set. They said the price is high and they only released 13 eps on that set. That suck balls.

Thanks OP.

Just Deathproof from BB for me. I hope Planet Terror gets the same deal so they can hand in hand in the collection.

thxs for the ads.

Do you have the CD deals for BB, i was wondering if they are doing anything special for Chamillionaire's new cd. Thanks.

Thanks for the post dude! I am sad I missed the sale on Crank, The Departed, and Pan's Labarynth for $10 each. Bring it back, BB! BRING IT BAAAACK!!!

lol the same could be said for any number of released American animation sets. I don't know the exact episode counts offhand, but I know that the previous Family Guy sets, the Futurama sets, The Boondocks set, and the Adult Swim sets usually only have around 13 episodes each.

So, while I agree the price is expensive, it's also the norm. Unless you wait and buy the sets on sale at a dramatic discount, months after the initial release.

btw, thanks deadite for posting the ads!

Bleh...so no one has a great deal this time like CC did with ZOO TV...

tinyandi, thanks so much for checking anyway!

Even though I know for a fact that they are going to do multiple dips on a Grindhouse (I was already told this by a representative on hand at last Comic-Con), I am still going to get a steelbook of Grindhouse. Love the movie and I guess I can double dip on this one. Still, I need to buy a replacement Firefly and Sin City so it might eat up a bit of my wallet.

Anybody seen Superman vs Doomsday?

I missed it at its showing at Comic-Con and when it was aired on TV.

I heard at Best Buy they're going to have a special 2-disc edition of the Across the Universe soundtrack with all the songs for $10, I'll probably pick that up.

Best Buy has the best price on the new Arnold Schwarzenegger Comedy Collection released today: $14.99.
It has 3 movies on 2 discs: Twins, Kindergarten Cop, and Junior all in anamorphic widescreen (first time in WS for all three I think).

Just in case anyone else was wondering, the Family Guy collection is $24.99 at Circuit City. That's the "low price." If you look at the ad though, it really looks like it's sharing a price with We Are Marshall, which would have been a great deal.

Not true. The norm for America is to release the whole season, not half the season.

The first Family Guy set consisted of Season one and two and had 28 total episodes, the second set was season three and had 22 episodes on it.

Volume 3 has the first half of season four (13 episodes) and volume 4 has the remaining 14 episodes.

Volume 5 has the first 13 episodes from season five. I'm not sure what Volume 6 will have considering there were only 18 episodes in Season five, which brings up even more questions of why only 13 out of 18 episodes were released on DVD from season 5.

For most of the sets you used as examples the reason the sets are 13 episodes is because that was the lenght of the season. Not only that but those titles were released at budget prices (20 - 30 bucks). The retail price for Family guy is 39.99 isn't it?

Futurama's releases were 13, 19, 22 and 18 episodes. South Park, The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Bevis and Butthead, and almost all other American produced animated shows have had full season releases.

Yet for Family Guy and American Dad they're released in 13 episode volumes at full season volume price. I guess Fox knows that FG and AD viewers are dumb enough to pay it.:whistle2:#

I went to pick up the Target LE Family Guy, and it has the dumbest case to it..

It's of being a box, it's wider and shorter, and is basically just like a candy wrapper..

I didn't buy it, since it doesn't go with the other sets well

I'll just order the reg from Amazon for 25.99 with free 2 day shipping
