$9.99 Blu-Rays At K-Mart 12/6-12/12

K-Mart has a few $9.99 Blu-Rays in their ad this week. Not sure if there's more at the store or not. The ones that are pictured are as follows....

Constantine
Corpse Bride
V For Vendetta
Wedding Crashers

Didn't see ANY of these at the one K-Mart I stopped at. Employee was absolutely clueless even after I showed him the ad. "Well we might get them in later this week check back." Uuuhhhhh... yeah I'm at the store with your ad that just came out TODAY and you don't even have them in. This is why K-Mart above all else is one big epic fail.

Most Ads come from Corporate, and aren't really "local" ads. So some of the time, items appear in ads that may not be in all stores

yeah, my store doesn't even carry blu-rays, apparently. Strange since they sell Blu-Ray players.

Except that corporate does these ads weeks if not MONTHS in advance. Hence they had plenty of time to make sure inventory on said items would be at stores. Instead we got the case of stores not getting these advertised items in at all. For K-Mart they can't afford to screw things up with the few customers that even bothers with them.
Okay I'll be the first to ask, does K-Mart price match coupons? :D
No, they only match printed ad prices from local competitors on non-clearance, non-special purchase items. "Local competitors" is taken quite literally, i.e. you can't take a Target ad to a Kmart store in a town that doesn't have a Target, they won't do it.

Completely off topic, but I used to feel the same way about K-mart. However, they had COD WAW for PS3 for $29.99 when every other retailer had the game for $59.99. Yes the employee I spoke to in their Electronics Department didn't have a clue about what I was trying to tell him, but with my help, he located the game, I bought it, and I haven't bought anything from them since!

Very true, there are many Kmarts that don't sell hi-def discs but do sell the players. That was a corporate decision based on sales projections. I remember Engadget running a story about it about a year ago.

It also has to do with marketing and sales; if the store in question does good on sales of blu rays, or if they feel the area and target market is sufficient enough. It's not just K-mart that does this type of thing, a lot of companies do if not all; not saying I agree with it all though

Believe it or not, K-Mart use to be the biggest big box store; even above Wal-Mart. However back in the 90's I believe it was, the CEO and board of K-Mart were older men who were set in their ways, and against newer technology, so they didn't want to update to a new inventory system. Which Wal-Mart did update their systems. Later, K-Mart saw the success Wal-Mart was having, and tried to upgrade there's, but had a system created that was way to small for what they needed, and wasted millions in the process. So that's why today, Wal-Mart had skyrocketed to what it is now, and when you walk into K-Mart, you see a lot of empty shelves

Kmart just really sucks. I don't understand how they are in business when almost everything I found there was more expensive than the same items at Target, Toys R Us, and Walmart. Plus, they don't even carry as much stuff as those stores.

Then K-Mart should of put "at select stores" type of disclaimer in their ad if they didn't intent on all stores having said product in stock. As is right now there's no disclaimer in the ad which to me speaks volumes about K-Mart in general in regards to their ad prep as a company.

So that's why today, Wal-Mart had skyrocketed to what it is now, and when you walk into K-Mart, you see a lot of empty shelves.

Or overstocked with shit nobody wants.

Well, my store had them in stock so don't give up hope. But why the hell would I give them money? Used the Target coupon+pricematch of course. Got Corpse Bride, Constantine, and V for Vendetta (since I have this on HD DVD, I'll probably gift it since the price is right)
