This just came in on the intranet this afternoon. Starting tomorrow (2-9), all green tagged items will now be reduced 90%.

Odds are, there isn't much good stuff left...but what IS left will be $1-4, so some of that junk might be worth looking into.

Is this DEFINATE they'll be 90% cause i don't really wanna get up early and make the drive if its not? thanks :)
If it's not official, then every Toys R Us in the nation has been fed falsified information. Like I said, came in over the company's intranet. Instructions on what to do about signage and everything.
lol...When I read that the first time, I thought you were making a joke or typo about the INTERNET. I didn't even realize TRU had an "intranet".

Also, how long will the EB trade in deal be going?

Finally, what other deals occasionally crop up revolving around trade in games. I may save my fodder if other deals interest me more. For example, isn't there sometimes a "trade in 4 games get___" deal? THANKS
what you pick up will likely be on the trade 4 exclusion list

I traded jampacks in the 3 +$10 several weeks ago

Read the EB In Store Trade In Specials page for all the info you need. The trade in 5 for a new game deals all explicitly mention "qualifying" titles, which is often followed by "non-excluded" for such deals. The list of excluded games link can be found on the specials page as well.

Oh man, my morning will be booked! Well, if there are any Minnesotans who live near St Paul-MPLS, I'll be at the Roseville, Maplewood, and maybe, just maybe, the Woodbury TRU in the 10am-12pm range. So if you see an asian guy about 5 feet, with a brown suede jacket on, say hello. Good luck to everyone tomorrow.

Yah, see check this out from the link the guy just posted:

February VOM: $10 bonus trade-in for 6 non-sport PS2/XB/GC (new) Active: Now - 2/27/2005
Trade-in 6 pre-played PS2/XB/GC non-sport video games and receive $5.00 dollars bonus trade-in value for each game. (Total of $30) Game boxes and instructions are required. No non-sport titles excluded from trade. May not be combined with any other offer or discount. No substitutions will be made. Typographical errors are not the responsibility of EB Games. Offer not valid on EBGames.com. See sales associate for complete details. No rain checks will be issued. Not valid on previous purchases. Sport themes not valid in offer: Basketball, Football, Baseball, Hockey, and Wrestling. Trade-in items must be submitted in "2"s to receive bonus dollars. Bonus will not be given to a 7th game.

Anything goes...

I found out about the 90% off at work today. we have a few decent titles left still. most of its crap. tons of copies of NFL 2k3 for the ps2 will be only 1.50. Cima the Enemy on GBA is greentagged so would only be 3 bucks, same with Wild Arms 3 on the ps2. Tons of copies of primal still are green tagged and will be 1.50.

There are a lot of older strategy guides green tagged (some 90% off of 14.99, but most are already marked down to 6.98.) Prince of Persia for the PC is green tagged as well.

Sorry, this is proly a dumb question, but what does it mean by the 7th game? does that mean they impose a limit, or just emphasizing you need to do it in pairs. Also, do they care, or more importantly, CAN they care, if you trade in multiple copies of the same game, claiming to be making a run for some friends as well or some such? THANKS
what games should i look for at the TRU sale that are eligable to trade?
very few, if any. stock up for when EB does that $10 bonus for like three or five games with no exceptions.

Well, I am sort of confused on that. I mean, you can always trade in 6, and go back, and just trade in the rest. It doesn't say you can't do more, but they also don't list 8 games as a deal online. They list 2 games and 4 games, and at the end of those it always says will not give bonus on 3rd game or 5th game. I assume they wouldn't care if you had more, just do it on different transactions.

Uh, that's what EB is doing now, but with two games. Only sports are excluded, like always.
I read that there is a $12 minimum purchase for the green tagged 90% games...true or false?
Uh, pretty sure that's false...
I read that there is a $12 minimum purchase for the green tagged 90% games...true or false?
$12 minimum purchase? I bought Dave Mirra 2 for PS2 for $3, which was green tagged, and some DC games at seperate times. Never had to spend $12.

Just stay away from the Northtown TRU until after 1:30. That one is MINE.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned in the thread, but does anyone have a link to the original (or an updated) TRU Green Tag List?

I've tried a couple of searches but can't seem to find a thread listing all of the games. I'll probably grab a couple of the higher priced ones for myself and use a few for trade fodder toward the EB deal.
the toys r us green tag is very YMMV, as it varies between stores
It does? The games are universal, but the actual chances of the games being in stock is YMMV.

Here is the original, but very old one.

Dude, like I said in an earlier post, only emps have the list for their specific store...I'm 99% sure that if you talk to some chump at most of the places that they won't know what you're talking about and there is no specific list...but it's a roto list. As previously posted: sis, reports, roto, roto ce/rzone...if you find someone stupid enough (like at the service area) or some really niiice manager maybe they'll print it for you and let you know what they're suppose to have, but it should be totally YMMV because they aren't suppose to give you the list at all.

Just one other note: most of the stuff on the list at my store are strat guides, like 75% of it is strat guides, lots of which we actually threw out.

anyone know if you can scan the items themselves to see the reduced price or do you have to take them to the cashier and ask them to do it.

Thanks for the heads up on this :)

Just when you think things are gonna let up & their won't be any insane deals for awhile this happens
anyone know if you can scan the items themselves to see the reduced price or do you have to take them to the cashier and ask them to do it.
They will show up with the price after Green Tag discounts at the price checkers.

You can scan green tagged items and it'll tell you the price they should be marked and the price that they'll ring up...however, in all the TRUs I've been in there are no scanners in the R-Zone...so you'd have to ask the cashier to price ref them.

yeah the TRU i usually goto doesn't have a price scanner in the R-Zone. There is one TRU i know of that does actually still have price scanners in the R-Zone.

and thanks for the info

so every TRU sells gameboy advance systems for 7 bucks at 70% off? is this YMMV or is it at every store.

i went to my store and they had a TERRIBLE selection, but i didnt see any gameboy advances. anyone know?

The green tag sale is universal for all stores that are not closing. Whether they actually have the GBAs in stock is the tricky part. My money would be on them not having them though. My store hasn't had the tru exclusive black gba since before xmas (we haven't had glacier or indigo in like 6 months).

well they had a huge display of GBAs that had the TRU exclusive logo on them (not sure what color) sorry. what i meant to say was that i didnt see any GBA with a green tag. they better have them after seeing the games they had in stock. for this gen, they had a bunch of 2k3 sport games, and 2 copies of R:racing revolutuion :(

anyone know the exact price of a GBA at 90% off?

1. R:Racing Evolution isn't green tagged (it was but not now).
2. The old GBA is priced $69.99. I don't think it applies to the black tru exclusive GBA (not sure though, it wasn't last time I sold one ~2 months ago)...but the Glacier and Indigo ones I'm sure are. so 90% off $69.99... $7
quick question: Are all GBA's (non SP) green tagged, or only the glacier and indigo?
read the posts directly above yours man...

Has anyone encountered any resistance at EB for tradining in things like primal and turok (non dups, unwrapped, etc)? I mean it sounds like most people have no problem getting their quick 12-13 dollar credit off the deal but I don't even own a PS2 or Xbox and I'd hate to get stuck with some craptastic games cause some clerk decided he didn't want to take them... (I'd just buy GC games that I would otherwise keep but they are essentially none left in my area).

Looks like I'm driving to that rural Toys R Us an hour away on Saturday.. they still had SNES games on the shelf last time I was there. As for the Montgomery TRU, they still have some decent stuff left. Too bad I'm broke until this dumbass on Ebay pays up on a RE 2 Gamecube auction, which is looking grim. Damned corporate america, and lack of giving me Friday off...

Maybe this will finally be the vehicle that leads me to the purchase of Steel Battalion via trade-ins (6 at a time, of course)

There is nothing left in Woodbury. I was just there about 10 days ago and all they really had left was a bunch of PS2 stands and some other useless junk. Best deal left on the table was one last copy of Pokemon Puzzle League. Other then that, there were no games left.
I'm kinda scared that some of the employees may hoard some of the deals.
Yeah, I'll confess to grabbing what I wanted as soon as I read about the deal. However, that consisted of one computer game we had no other copy of...everything else we had more than one of.

It depends on the employee...but it happens.

I'm thinking I'm gonna have a hard time at other TRUs...even though I work at another TRU... we'll see.
