I'm finding that rickshankshaw has a great sense of humor that really only comes through if you read his posts sarcastically. At least doing so really makes the shipping debate from a few pages back really quite funny. Shoot him a PM and ask him what parts of the conversation he is serious about and which ones he's not, it may be the only way to find out for sure!

For those that haven't shipped yet, I also found that PayPal will allow you to print a receipt for shipping! :lol:

Just uncheck the box so that the cost shows on the shipping label. No need to print a reciept.
 
For the record, I partially refunded a buyer for shipping. Since when did a game and bubble mailer weight only 2.5 oz? XD Pretty sure it was a postal scale error, but my buyer gets a bonus in the end I suppose.

Or you could do like me on many and forgot what preset I was using in the multi-order tools. Give the usps some extra money to do their job slower. Shipping media for a higher cost than 1st class on many of mine. Still all over the $2 charge though just for shipping.:bomb:

Well clear it up for me.

Either you were "in an discussion with" me regarding the $0.19 you said I owed you (as you claim above) or you were being sarcastic and you never wanted the $0.19 in the first place. There is no in between.

What I think happened is that you wanted to try and teach me a lesson over the $0.19 (and the receipt posts I made earlier) and when I pointed out how petty you were, you suddenly backtracked and pretended that it was all "sarcasm". In fact, I bet you thought I was going to throw a shitstorm over the $0.19 so when I just up and paid your petty pennies, you had no choice but to return the money to save face.

And if you were honest, you would tell everyone that I gifted you the paypal payment. There was no fee. In fact ask Dv8. I had to pay an extra fee to him because he is overseas, regardless of whether I gifted it, and I paid the fee without hesitation or bitching.

Congratulations on that bundle, that Micro is worth every penny. I keep it on my person at all times, even in the office. During presentations I can sit in the back and get in some grinding in Castlevania and I blend right in with the Blackberry crowd, because it looks small enough to be a cellphone.
 
Of my 4 bidders, 3 are paid and shipped as of yesterday. Himeh seems to have vanished (even though profile shows him online today).
 
4 out of 5 bidders have paid and have been shipped out, my final buyer, bonkers, seems to be a newbie with only two posts, both in this thread. If he/she doesnt contact me soon, I may have to consider him/her a non-paying bidder and asked that he/she be placed on the list.
 
This is a question to the other sellers in this sale. How long should you wait without getting a response from people about payment to do something? I've never been involved in a lowball sale before and I'm not sure. If someone could let me know that would be great. I have a handful of people that haven't paid. A couple of them let me know payment is coming but about 6 of them haven't responded to me at all.

I'd say give them three days before you send a reminder. Some people don't come on CAG every day and others may have a busy few days. If you sent out invoices yesterday, Sunday night may be appropriate for a follow-up.

A question for all the sellers; if a buyer falls through and refuses payment, what happens to the item they bid on? Do they go to the next highest bidder, or is the item removed completely and re-listed later in another lowball sale?

Depending on the number of items and the edits/deletes that have occurred throughout the sale, it's difficult to defer back to the prior bidder. Additionally, the prior bidder may no longer want the item. For those reasons, it's really just more trouble than its worth.

What I could see happening (based on what the other sellers think) is listing the unclaimed items and the unpaid for items with the price they were won and allowing others to buy them at those prices (or possibly offer). It's probably an activity better left for individual tradelists, but if we really have that high a number of unpaid bidders, it might be a good idea for us to just relist everything.

Yeah, totally makes sense. Well there's a couple items I'd definitely takeover if the bidder falls through! I'll just keep checking back here every so often to see if anything comes up! Thanks for the response!

what might be a good way of dealing with 'no pays' is to after a week or so offer any unsold items at the highest bid to see if someone wants to take it over.

Just out of curiosity, did people like the "random" end times? It seems to me like it was good (less sniping), but bad (people can't plan to be home/online when it ended).

Well, it also encourages early bidding, which is nice. I do wish it was more, predictable though, missed out on a few things on day 3 because I was out and expected it to end later. Maybe I should take my own advice and bided earlier >_>

He said that he has picked up a third job due to not being quite enough of a cheap ass. Pile that on top of the fact that they have a 3 month old, he's running a little behind. He said that he expects to have invoices out for everyone that picked up his items after this weekend.
 
Alright, I've received payments from all of my bidders. Three packages have been shipped and the fourth is going out tomorrow. Looks like I'm all tapped out!

...time to run another lowball sale of my own to try and move some more stuff...

Well, in my opinion, I think that the random end times were a good idea. It encourages people to bid what they feel an item is worth rather than waiting until the end to throw in a bid. Though unlike Ebay, there is no proxy bidding so if you bid really high, you will pay that amount that you posted.

On the other hand, it isn't as fair to those that have work/school/etc. during those times but then again, it doesn't necessarily have to be fair in the first place. (no offense meant to anyone)

I really felt it was a better way to do things. It is true that people that are at work/school might not get a chance to make that last minute bid but for the way the way they work on the forum and the scope of this sale, you would have multiple double bids, lower bids, etc. and a HUGE mess to sort out.

It does support early bidding and honestly, i feel more fairness.

However, it does take away from the sellers chance to make a little more, but for the money i feel the headache is not worth it.
 
Hey guys, just to weigh in on the current topic at hand, I have thought about a more specific end time multiple times.
However, there is almost always an issue as to what exact minute it finishes and in what time zone, not only that, but as I state in my thread rules, I'm not into the snipers making me a few extra bucks. I think the people that choose to take some time out of their days and really keep up with the thread deserve to get the deals.
Finally, as for saying that people at work or in school are left out, I have to disagree with that. Many of us now have jobs where we have a possibility of working any of the 7 days of the week. Also, many people take night classes, many people work 3rd shift, and some people (Hi!) even live in completely different time zones.
I think that, no matter when the end time is, some people will be left out.

In the end, I think that having a more random end time leads to more happiness when you do win.

Actually, with the much earlier than expected end time of Phase 3, we probably did lose out on a few bucks. Then again, how many people were able to feel the thrill of victory? I just feel that it's much more exciting to suddenly pull off a win at a price lower than you anticipated.

Again, my lowball goals;
Sellers get rid of stuff which is, pretty much, taking up space while making a few bucks (or yen;)) in the process.
Buyers get some items at a lower price than they would from their unfriendly-neighborhood Gamestop while getting to have an exciting time visiting everyone's favorite website.
