Diapers are expensive - free range your children instead. Embrace nature.

Try sending your next monthly devil's due in pennies. 90,000 pennies should make her happy, right?

Setup a neighbor's WIFI and keep the key so you can use it too! Free!

If you have any children at least 4 years old, they can be put to use making quilts to build their motor skills, or farming gold to build their eye hand coordination.

I'M HELPING!

(P.S. good sales, just need to see the :ps3: JP Atelier games on the list (or to be purchased) and I'll be all over that like crazy)
Oi Dv8, do you know why copies of Tales of Vesperia The First Strike are so blooming expensive over there in Japan?
DVDs and Blurays are universally "blooming expensive" in Japan.

Hm, intriguing. I really do wonder why, so if anyone could offer an explanation that would be swell.

^ Because they can be so expensive and people are forced to buy them. When you have an entire country the size of California and a population bigger than many places 10x it's size, all of which is populated by people that speak a language really only spoken there, it's a recipe for overpriced media.

If, for example, US blu-rays would start adding Japanese subtitles, everyone would import and still be getting media way cheaper than here even if they chose the fastest shipping method. But, since the US and Japan now share a region, I don't expect to ever see US blus with Japanese subtitle options.

Normal blus release about $50 here and anime releases around $70-$100 per volume.
Only a year or more later when the release in the US and still contain the JP language track do prices drop on anime. Pretty much never on movies though.
It really sucks!

It was even worse when it was games and DVD of the previous gen as you also had region locks to contend with.

I was eyeing that ToV First Strike Blu-Ray myself but not at $90 :bomb:...

Sad thing is it has exclusive costumes for both Yuri & Estelle. Oh yeah I guess it doesnt matter cuz we are never getting that damn game over here on PS3

dv8, you ever see any DS paddle controllers over there? I'd love to have one to use for Space Invaders. I see some available online for about $40, but that's got to be pretty inflated, right?

@Dv8: That makes a fair amount sense. Unfair sense, but sense nonetheless.

Apparently only the first batch of the DVDs had the costume codes though; So says Wikipedia at least, so it isn't as if I can be certain on its truth or falsity.

You really think they would have brought it over here. More money for them from the initial sales, and then they could pummel us with all the additional costumes, and then even more costumes. The Keroro costume alone made them over $200,000 apparently. Why they wouldn't want to take this action around the world is beyond me.

Oh Namco, why? I'd have gladly given you all my dollars. Not that I have many dollars to give, but they would have been spent on some of your costume-rific PSN DLC. Ah well, now I have more dollars for Dv8 at least. ;)

WHAT? I never knew about that costume! I'd totally buy that.

We can still hope! We know that in September 2009 Troy Baker confirmed that the cast had been called in to record additional voicework for the voiced skits and for the new character. He confirmed that again at Sakura-con this last spring. Bamco has stated they had no details to reveal at this time (which is what they said for Eternal Sonata).

So yeah, I'm expecting a fall release. ;)

For some reason I feel like overdrawing from my bank to buy all of dv8's goods... weird.

Aha, I am as giddy as can be right now! I heard about Troy saying so back in 2009 as well, but I had not heard a word of news about what had been said at Sakura-con. Good old Troy, he is a beyond cool dude. Also given that I didn't know this fact about Eternal Sonata either, things are looking up.

You know I'll look forward to it with you. :D

I could hook you up with a Super Mario Sunshine through the lonepig portal for some amazon payment action or even amazon gift credit, though if you want to conserve your resources that's understandable.

That sounds soooooo dirty.

Alright, seeing as how the prior post got buried (and some of the items ended up selling through Amazon), here's an update to the "games for sale on behalf of dv8mad":

dv8, feel free to add this to the front page as well. Greater exposure hopefully equals sales.

For clarification, payment for these should go directly to dv8mad. I'll need your address for shipping purposes.

EDIT: Julia just showed me the video that Ai put up of Ryu at the park. Ryu's getting big! He looks like a lot of fun. It's nice to see you so happy as a family despite the circumstances.

Don't know if you're keeping up on it but you're almost at $25 dv8. I... think.. that's good? I don't know you beyond your blogs and posts, but its always good to help someone in need, as one husband+father to another. :)

No, I didn't get your cases out yet. I'll try to get them out tomorrow since I get paid tomorrow, and I don't think I can print shipping labels to Japan off Paypal.
-reading the above- Sneaky sneaky dood.

Oi Dv8, is there any extra story to No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise?
No extra story. The only thing added aside from the upgraded graphics and textures is Super Sweet Mode.

dv8, I got a couple Japanese Club Nintendo codes with the two games I got from you, if you have any use for them. Use them, sell them, I don't know? What say you?
some items are almost too tempting...
This is true, alot of good stuff this time around Dv8, as usual.
I caught up this morning - expected more MS announcements/Sorry to hear you are sick/enjoy your day off if you have one - and by enjoy, I mean, stay sick, but play games or something. ;)
Yup, "sick" let me watch Sony's conference live.
I'm waiting for you write another blog. I'm not sure how long you could maintain the 69 position. :p
I'm in it for the long haul! I may never write another.

Can you read Japanese? I need help looking for the Battle Fantasia demo on the Japanese PSN. I wanna try the demo.
Btw, the menu for the Japanese one is in English right?
Nevermind. Wasabi is taking it.
If you want it, you can take it.

battle fantasia is バトルファンタジア

not sure how the store there is organized.
Eh. I found the first 3 characters of the name but I can't find it, so I'm guessing it must've been pulled off. I'll take it anyways if you don't want it.
