Trying to finish Luminous Arc, put it down awhile ago.

Semester is finally over, so I hope to hit my back log some. Need to also finish Phantom Hourglass, and who knows what else after that.

I need a Wii... mainly so I can finally play those N64 zelda games every fanboy-ish person seems to rave about. also I'm dying to play No More Heroes and Cubivore.

in terms of gaming, I noticed I got Streets of Rage 2 a while ago for 360 but never played it... didn't realize it had a save system as well... I forgot how well that game played and how far ahead of its time it was.

A funny thing happened to me to day. See, I've had this Gamestop gift card sitting in my wallet since last wednesday when my college class had a gift exchange where you pull random names out of a hat and give them a gift for christmas break. It was a nice gift and I was lucky he noticed I was into games, I know barely anyone in that class, but anyway I figured it had about $5 or $10 on it, no biggie. Until I phoned Gamestop on my way home from church this morning to ask about the balance on it. Fifty. fucking. Dollars.

:bouncy: Jackpot! :bouncy:

I've been playing loads of Guitar Hero 3, on The Live Eye it says I've logged almost four days (woo!) into the game already. Most of the time I punctuate the day with some Call of Duty 4 or Puzzle Quest. Puzzle Quest is so strangely addictive it's not the type of game I would usually see myself enjoying but regardless, I am really satisfied with how I spent my 1200 pts.

Thus far I've largely ignored Mass Effect in the past week or so because it left a bad taste in my mouth for a while. I'm already many hours into my second playthrough and so far it's been way more fun this time around, but the first playthrough was a pain in the ass the first 10 hours or so and that really brought my attitude toward the game down. Hopefully I'll become more comfortable with this character than I was with the last one, since now I know how to do things, no thanks to your lack of a tutorial, Bioware :bomb:.

Ya you do. Ocarina of Time holds up pretty well and is way way more enjoyable than Twilight Princess.

I agree it does hold up. I only first played it in the past couple of years, but it's still really memorable and feels like I played it many years ago when I think back on it.

I went to the arcade today for the first time in a long time. Played Time Crisis 2 and Guilty Gear XX mainly. I wanted to play Time Crisis 3 due to the guns having recoil and it being an overall better game, but it was $1 to play so I passed. I was also going to play Virtua On, but again $1 to play. Also I was sad to see the Resident Evil game was taken out. Ah well.

Well after debating about it, I just went and pre-ordered UTIII online. Hoping somebody else gets it for PS3 so we can fucking play. Also if they make it cross platform play Chac we so must play. I love getting pwned by people I know.

I think the wii is last gen, just with a new gimmick.
I mean nintendo had to do something with all that surplus gamecube stock.

Finished up Assassin's Creed (PS3) yesterday night. A fun game with a lot of fun ideas/moments but deserved the 7.0-7.5 rating it had been getting.

Not sure what I'll do next. I still have Super Mario Galaxy to beat but I'm kind of interested in picking up Mass Effect in the near future.

Also Silent Assassin, I'll hit you up if I pick up UTIII. I've been thinking of picking it up but I don't want to get into that "buy too many games I won't play" phase again.

I choked down Call of Duty 4 tonight. Awful single player. I don't understand how people like this game. I played on hardened and I've never been quite so frustrated by bad design in a game.* The only way I managed to finish "All Ghillied Up" was because I ran to the empty square room where the enemy soldiers were spawning, which stopped them from spawning. Waited there until the helicopter came, then ran until I got into the chopper. Just terrible.

In this same weekend I played through almost all of Halo 3 twice in co-op and never managed to get anywhere near as bored or frustated as CoD4.

I also had one of the funniest moments ever in TF2 where a troupe of 8 medics stormed a capture point which I lost due to laughing too much.

*Before you bitch, I did finish CoD 2 on veteran and had a great time.

Woo my Rock Band will be delivered on Wednesday. So hopefully I will have time for my instruments to break, and consequently be replaced before Christmas. When people will actually be here to play it.

Winter break begin!
I asked this before but I didnt get an answer:

Is it ok to use a ps2 memory card with U.S. saves with a Japanese PS2?
I follow Chacrana's logic. I use a PS2 memory card with Japanese saves on a US all the time.

I started FEAR Extraction Point and it has a laughable amount of crates in it. Twice so far I've walked into a room and I've seen soldiers just standing there, doing nothing. Other than that, it's more of the same. I like going back to the dual pistols and sub machine guns. They were my favorite weapons in FEAR but that game just kept throwing more and more bigger weapons at you.

I think I'm a couple of "sittings" away from beating MGS3. The motorcycle parts were crazy.

I'm one week away from getting my 8800GT. GoGamer needs to put Crysis on sale. I've already played the demo half a dozen times. I've got Gears of War to play again in the mean time.

Alright cool man, and I totally understand where you are coming from. I am just now getting rid of games in my backlog I either have never played, or tried out and just don't like it. Just trying to keep games in my collection I really like and can see myself playing down the road. Basically the gems of that gen, and this gen is all I want in my collection. UTIII will be the last game I buy this gen, since I know it'll be blast to play online just like the previous UT game was.

Yes, yes, people. That's right. UTIII is the best online shooter you'll play. Sell your Halos and your Orange Boxes. Embrace the Tournament.

LIES! Team Fortress 2 is the best online shooter since Medal of Honor Allied Assault (that was the last online shooter I played for more than a few weeks).

Seriously, what's so good about it?

Everything.

whoo~!!! I jus got a new game for my Wii off ebay!!

Killer 7!!

it only costed me $10!!

oooohhh I am cheap ass gaming now!!

got the urge to play some gitaroo man today on the psp while I was off at school. almost forgot how great and fun it was.

Finished Stuntman: Ignition on the 360. It had its issues, mainly that it could be frustratingly difficult to mess up a run at the last stunt. But it was fun for the $20 I payed for it.

Started Assassin's Creed. The graphics are amazing, and I like the way they handled the platforming around the city.
Everything.
Oh I see. So it has classes that are completely varied and come together so that (when done right) you become an unstoppable team and UT3 also has careful weapon and class balance and it also has balanced, varied, and intricate maps and the game also has that extra bit of fear and tension the the Spy brings or any of the uncountable little things that make you smile while playing the game such as the look on the characters faces or the accents when they taunt?

I'll be going to Target after work today, hopefully Company of Heroes is marked down (and still there). What do you guys think about Lost Planet for PC? If it's still there it'll be $7.50. Any reason not to pick it up?

Yeah. Lost Planet is still a piece of shit on PC. It sucks regardless of platform.

Such a horrible waste of money... can't believe I got suckered into buying it in January.
I liked Lost Planet...
I didn't like falling down in Lost Planet. Honestly, falling down is what killed the game.

Well... and the boring factor.

for $7.50, I can recommend the pc version. but if you're going to get the game, get the 360 version. It wasn't that bad of a game as most people say it was. The final boss battle was shallow, but the game itself was a lot fun.

TF2 needs more maps and CTF.

But definitely, a lot more maps.

Either way, COD4 has more solid gameplay, while TF2 puts a smile on your face because of the art design.

You're fault for playing it on hardened, if you suck you should have played on normal to get the most out of the game. That extraction level is probably the hardest part of any COD game, but saying the single player sucks just because you got frustrated...

I think TF2 has the perfect balance of maps, quality over quantity.
Yes TF2 does have CTF.

COD4 online without the rankings would make it an afterthought.

I've been bedridden the past few days :(

I got a bad case of the flu and it caused me to lose 10 lbs... Lack of eating/appetite... That's not a 'good' way to lose 10 lbs... My body feels so weak... I need to devour some cows...

But thanks to being sick and stuck at home, I finally beat Phoenix Wright 3!

Can't wait until the 4th game...

And good news! I got the job at that company I applied to awhile back... :)

Time to start a new game... Mass Effect, Contra 4, or Heavenly Sword? Or all three at once?!

Shit, I meant COD4 needs CTF.

But even then, TF2 only has one map to play CTF.

But its realllllllllllllllllyyyyyy goood.

Over the weekend, my friend and I rented Stranglehold for PS3 and he blasted through it in one sitting. We also played a ton of Super Puzzle Fighter. We started around 10 pm Saturday and didn't stop until 7 am Sunday, then played a bunch more on Sunday. That game is like crack if you get a bunch of people together.

Man, Uncharted is like an awesome steak with awesome sauce dripping all over it. It's not perfect, but it's sooooo fun.

I was just smiling the whole time I was playing the
jeep
and
jet ski
levels. The platforming and puzzle stuff are pretty cool as well.

I'm not one for sequels or franchises per se, but I really really want more Uncharted.

Tonight I will hit the pipe Mass Effect, or finish Heroes season 1...haven't decided yet.

What they have are near perfect, but I could use a few more. Or at least touch up some of the better custom maps and make them "official".

Whoknows manages to completely miss the point, as usual.

My complaint was not with difficulty but with the fact that in order to pass that mission, I had to rely on loopholes in the AI and sitting inside this "clone room" where soldiers were popping out of, to stop them from appearing. The game is an atrocity of design in single player and pretty mediocre in multiplayer. CoD2 on Veteran was some of the most fun I've ever had with an FPS, and it just sucks that IW wasn't able to make as good of a game.
