I played Burnout for a while last night online with CAG. Pretty fun, but some challenges are hard. Also Burnout Paradise was a good vision test, because I tried playing the game with my left eye (my weak one) and I could not see anything on the map. Although I've said this many times, I'm very close to admitting to my parents I might need to just go ahead and get an eye exam, but can't decide how I tell them this (I've been holding back for 5 years on it).

Today I do not expect to play much games outside of Warhawk. Heading out most of the day.

Warriors Orochi 2 is a game I want, but I'm waiting a bit to buy it. I really like the first, no doubt.

Man, I played through almost all of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 last night. I think I have like 2 levels left. Unfortunately, I'm gone this weekend, so I'll hafta wait till Monday to finish it off. But whatever - this is a great game.

Dude, just say "I need an eye exam."

you sound like you're telling them you have cancer or something. just get some glasses or contacts...it takes like an hour for the whole process at a lens crafters.

Seriously TMK, just say you need to get your eyes checked. It is VERY important.

Over the course of 5 years the eye can change a lot especially since it was already degrading.
Dude, just say "I need an eye exam."
I tend to over analyze everything. Sometimes I wonder if I'm just going through some phase where I'm not seeing well (although I DID fail a vision test during a Physical 5 years ago), or maybe my eyes aren't that bad, so that's one reason I put it off. I kind of hate paying for an eye exam when my eyes are fine (although probably not). I just know for sure I must have some sort of issue, since I've been having some issues for years. And then I kind of hate putting a burden on my parents to pay (despite everyone else having bad vision). Heck, I basically spent almost all night thinking about this (barely got sleep too).

Regardless of what I said, I will tell my parents somehow. I haven't seen an eye doctor since 1992. I wonder if some problems relate to my driving, because if there's anyway I almost ran into people, it was because they approached me on the left side (where my left eye is weak). Hmm, I just now noticed that. What I will probably do is have a discussion with my Mom about how my Dad doesn't take his blood pressure medication. Then I will get into back when I took the Physical 5 years ago, I was too I needed medication for my blood pressure (doctor wanted me to make an appointment with him) and I was told to get my eyes checked by an eye doctor back then. I'll then get into admitting, I should have done it and I've noticed my left eye getting worse, maybe I should get it checked. That's probably how I'm going to lead into it.

Not sure if you heard the news, I am really working hard on driving now, so I can hopefully take the test within a month, so I get that out of the way (and I already applied to a job where a company really liked my resume, but had to post the job first). So I'm making some progress.

Going back to gaming, I also played a little SingStar yesterday (80's on PS2). I'm going through my collection trying to see if I should dump anymore games to buy something today maybe.
You'll never get a driver's license if you don't pass the vision test.
20/40 is the minimum in Indiana to pass it. While I took it for my permit, I actually completely missed the letters on one side once, so I told the lady, let me try again. I gave it a lot of thought and eventually passed. My eyes aren't worse than that at least (or I don't think). If the requirements were more strict, then I'd possibly fail it. Well, if I DID fail it, then I'd know for sure to get them checked.

TBH, I am considering Lost Planet at $10 at GameStop (for 360). Most tell me to not get it, but I kind of want to try it, and I could use another 360 game.

yep. for example:

You're not an optometrist and you're eyes aren't healing themselves...just go get the exam man. Half the country has glasses/contacts, it's not a big deal.

btw, not using glasses when you need them can hurt your eyesight. It sounds like you may have been doing just that for the past 5 years...
Lost Planet is definately worth 10 bucks but you might as well pay the extra for the Lost Colonies edition so you can play online.
yeah, I've been thinking about that over and over again. I may just wait then, thanks. :)
Save your money for Rockband 2!
I already have $80+ store credit at GameStop, along with money in my wallet and a decent amount of savings for games, so $10 would not hurt.

I was ashamed to do it, but after like 3 hours of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 last night, my contacts felt all dried out, so I took those out and went into glasses-op mode. Which is fine, coz I have Oakleys, but y'know...

Hmm.....

HMMMM....

Does not compute.

...

If I'm lucky, I'll finally pick up Yakuza 2 today. I don't have shit to do this weekend, so it couldn't hurt to just try and blow through that game. Or at least start it.

This weekend's looking like buying time for Yakuza 2, Crysis Warhead and Dragon Quest IV... like, f'sho.

I don't know if you'd like it. But it is made of awesome. That's all I can say on here.

If you catch my drift.

But.

DRAGON QUEST IV
YAKUZA 2

= GET!

TRY = Battle Fantasia, Star Wars Force Unleashed

have fun!

Anyone have any experience with apple refurb products? They've got the 16 gig iTouch up for 220, and I'm very tempted.

Still gotta get rid of this zune. I guess I'll put it on craigslist, seems like the best place to get 100 out of it.

I think I'll rent Yakuza today.

Man, I forgot how addicting RB/GH can be. Stayed up late playin' it last night--it was like "ah, just one more song" over and over. Then I started up the Bikes DL for Burnout and went to bed.

those Strong Bad games on Wii Ware look real cool,

but I cant get them coz I refuse to allow my HD to be pwned like that...

I'd rather jus download them from the PC

This morning was suck, but i'ma play sum witcher for the next 16 hours nao

Remember to get your PMs in to ME to get involved in the WipEout HD gameshare group. $20 games Downloadable game for $4, plz.

I kinda want to use the 20% off used coupon this week.. If I found a used rock band 2, that would be awesome. Maybe I should get Halo 3 again, I sold it about a year ago and I'd like to play it again.

Stereotypical GGT whining about Halo's quality follows.

If I've waited for 5 years, I can wait. I kind of admitted it to my parents, and they are like as long as I can pass the vision test at the license branch, it's not too big of a problem.

Well, I'm going to admit I picked up Lost Planet: Extreme Condition on 360. What pushed me over the edge was seeing the Collector's Edition, and the employee told me it worked during the deal, so I went ahead and got it. I only paid $4.88 for it with my edge card due to three extra cheap trade-ins (Which gave me $3.31 in store credit for three games, one GBA and two PS2). I know Colonies would be better, but it was so cheap and I just wanted to try it out for all this time.

You'll have to get really good insurance at a job to have vision coverage, if that's what you're waiting for. Better off skipping a couple games to put a hundred bucks down on some glasses if necessary.

I'm playing more Beautiful Katamari, because its amazing and DLC is on sale.
I'm pretty sure this one of the very very few times (if not the only time) I have paid for DLC.
The game is that good.

Or you'll end up with crappy vision cover that isn't accepted anywhere and pays for nothing, like me.

I'm really tempted to get Pure this weekend, really tempted. :whistle2:k

On September 22nd, Wii Ware receives...the 9th installment of the original MEGA MAN!!

On September 25th, Playstation Network gets the same

On October 1st, no one cares about the Xbox Live Arcade version

Proto Man DLC for 200 points/160 MSP/$199 as well.

Yeah, vision insurance tends to suck. I have it, but it doesn't cover a lot of the cost. For instance, I just spent around $350 on an exam and buying a years worth of Focus Dailies etc. (will be less after a rebate though) and my insurance reimbursed me for like $95. A help, but not a huge deal.

TMK, just go to a Wal-mart optometrist. The regular exams (i.e. not for contacts) are pretty cheap, usually around $50.

You don't want to let your eyes go, as if you do need glasses and don't get them the strain will keep making your vision worse. Just man up and get an exam.

As for games, I'm finally back in town and had Ninja Gaiden II waiting from goozex. Will fire that up this weekend. Need to play some more Braid and SCIV as well.

I know that price isn't cheap and was hoping for insurance coverage on at least that.

But I was saying insurances at least cover an eye exam (or most all of it) and possibly the glasses. I know contacts usually aren't covered. My parents seemed to think I should wait, so I guess I will. Basically, how I got into the discussion with them was admitting I SHOULD have gotten them checked 5 years ago when I failed the test at my doctor's office when having a Physical (I didn't do anything because I was extremely shocked I couldn't read the line I was suppose to, because I always thought my eyes were perfect. Over time, I noticed an issue).

I decided not to keep Beautiful Katamari a week ago. I ended up getting stuck, so I just gave up and traded it in. I also played a little bit of Lost Planet. I may not beat it, but it gives me an extra game to play.

I thought Wario Shake It was end of this month? Amazon put it into my shipping queue already. :/

This is not necessarily good because when they do this, they charge your credit card/tie up CC funds, but they don't necessarily ship it right away. I'd hate to have the game floating in limbo land for a week or whatever it is until release.

Looks like I'll be buying Mega Man 9 twice. Thanks capcom, for staggering the release dates.. Or should I say thanks Microsoft for having an awful release schedule setup for XBLA.

Watch, next week will be Duke Nukem and some COFFEEE TIME BACKGAMMON EXXRRREEEEMME bullshit.
But I was saying insurances at least cover an eye exam (or most all of it) and possibly the glasses.
My insurance paid for a little less than 1/2 the exam and a small % of glasses or contacts. Varies by plan, but vision coverage tends to suck. And my insurance overall is pretty good since I'm a state employee.

Just man up, tell your parents (fact that you have to in your mid 20's is pathetic as is) that your vision is getting worse and you need to get your eyes checked. A regular eye exam with no dilation isn't that expensive.

whoo! I got DQ4 on my lunch break and they only taxed me on $29.99 becoz of the gift card!!

SKILLZ. I feel like mother freakin Martha Stuart the way I avoid taxes!!

jokes for all!! what did super Mario say when Bullet Bill grabbed Magikoopa's wand and turned super Mario into a bell??

Bill Bellamy

lol yeah Kotaku got screwed.. why don't they check their sources better? It was just a random CAG blog.. Then they go off saying "well CAG has ruined their reputation now, like it's all our fault.

Destructoid/Joystiq/1up FTW.
