Funny you're all talking about vision insurance. Mine just got major upgraded a couple of weeks ago. :cool: Every 12 months they pay for all of the exam, all for the lenses, up to $130 on frames, and all for 4 boxes of disposable contacts. Without any copay. Which is all good, cause I need to make an appointment for some new contacts soon anyway.

Been playing a bunch of FFX-2 today. I'm at 70% completion, so I'm closing in towards the end.

I don't even like Mega Man. Well, I've never really played it. But that box is EASILY the coolest piece of gaming swag I have ever seen. It will be mine! :bomb:
 
I doubt any of us except MarkMan are ever going to have one of those Mega Man 9 packages.

Only 200 available= Capcom Store crash within seconds of their posting. I'm surprised they don't just do a charity type thing and have a raffle- $15 gets you a code for MM9 and a chance to win one of those. $5 goes towards the Michael Scott Rabies Awareness Fun Run For the Cure or something.

I'm too fucked up on Sudafed to go to my friend's (that stuff is supposed to be non drowsy dammit). So I'm bored and trying to figure out which game to curl up with. I'll probably just play some Rock Band guitar. Might give Bionic Commando a shot or something.

I kind of have to tell my parents because I cannot really afford it, and they have to drive me there anyway for now (until I get my operator's license in no later than one month hopefully). But like I said, I admitted this to my parents (well, Mom) today (I made the discussion kind of complicated) by mentioning how I did fail the vision test at my doctor's 5 years ago and still having some problems, but my Mom said not to worry for now as long as I can pass the test at the license branch (which I barely did a few months ago, but all you need is 20/40 to pass). And she mentioned about lacking insurance to cover (I can't see a dentist right now either due to not having the insurance. We tried, but it barely got covered). But at least it's on my parents minds, so if the time comes around, I might get it checked. Otherwise, I'll wait until I get a job and move out (I'll just take care of everything myself). It may suck having to go longer with the pain (I experience pain/problems from other health related issues too right now), but everything will get better eventually, no doubt (I'm not putting this off because I'm chicken, I just don't have all that much money to spend on these things now and lack of coverage).

Anyway, I'm really excited about September 25th on PSN. I'll be buying Wipeout HD and Mega Man 9. I'll need to add more money into my wallet to buy Mega Man 9. I hope Meijer has a sale next week or soon so I can pick up Tales of Vespiria (it's my birthday present my Mom still owes me, just waiting for a Meijer sale).
 
man, when are RB and GH going to get some good metal? i'd cream my pants if i got to play Arch Enemy or Meshuggah :cold:

Touch Detective games for DS--Are they any good? I've been on a kick of really wanting to play some GOOD DS games lately. I'm getting Mystery Case Files next week :lol: (I admit, I really enjoy those games!)..but I see there's a lot of detective-like games on the DS. I tried Phoenix Wright and just wasn't feeling it. What else is good? :whistle2:k

The only thing I don't like is how loud the footsteps are. It is a great game though. I played Bioshock first but I think there are some creative similarities. The larger bad guys (I don't know the names of them) look alot like Big Daddies.

My only gripe was the repetitive environments and enemies. It got damn tiring going through office buildings and warehouses/loading docks shooting the same enemies.

But it was still a damn good game. Great atmosphere and the AI was very good.

Yeah, I've almost got lost a couple times. A map would've been nice. The slo-mo makes up for it though.

TMK -- dmaul is right. Quit buying games for a week or two and you will have paid for your eye exam a pair of specs. After that, you can go crazy with all the games you want and your eyes will thank you.
 
I still think it's interesting how generally (again, generally), people who played the 360 version of FEAR walk away with a completely different opinion of the game than people who played the PC version. I dunno why, but I loved the game to death on PC (and still do), but the 360 version just felt slow, looked washed-out, and bored me relentlessly. But it's sorta the same game... so I dunno
 
FEAR PC >>>>>>>>> FEAR 360 >>>>>>>>> FEAR PS3. There isn't any comparison at all. FEAR PC is so good, but the 360 version is ass and the PS3 version is the worst by far.

If you aren't playing FEAR on PC, then you aren't playing FEAR for real.

It's one of the few games I played on PC. Ran like shit as I really don't have a gaming PC (just whatever crappy standard 3D card dell through in there) and had to play on easy since I suck balls at keyboard/mouse controls. But I still loved it.

I may have liked the 360 version more, but I played it before I had a 360 and was suffering through only having a Wii so I borrowed some PC games from a friend who's big into PC gaming. Thought of picking it up to play again, but it sounds like it was such a sloppy port I really don't want to bother. Hopefully the 360 version of Project Origin is good as my PC definitely won't run any new release PC games!

Plus I just hate keyboard controls, and playing on my 17" monitor vs. my 50" TV and just hate sitting at the PC at home after being stuck on one all day at work.
 
There are just some things you can't do easily on FEAR 360 that you can do on FEAR PC. Like shooting grenades out of the air in slomo. :)

Plus it looks a lot better and runs smoothly on PC, provided you have decent hardware. 8800GT completely mauls it, and those are ~$100 now.

I was off school do to Parent Teach Conferences today.

Of course, my teachers adore me and my a's were straight.

Just played a bunch of rock band. I'm still kicking myself for just now getting into it. It's so much more fun than Guitar Hero 3. Yeah, it's easy as hell but it's still fun because of how well it's charted. It makes me feel like I'm really playing the guitar along to these songs.

I'm just playing through the solo tour to get all the songs unlocked. I always just did the cheat before lol.

One of these days I'm going to buy a real guitar and learn it...
 
I've only played FEAR on PC, but that's a give of course since it's really the only platform that the game should be played on. Man, I love that game, such a fast paced, intense shooter.

The game is dirt cheap now too.....for like $20 you can get the gold edition, which is FEAR and the expansion. Plus FEAR multiplayer is a free download off of monolith's website, and it's damn fun too. I remember playing it for months when it came out.
 
I don't really care for the direction GH took. Even though RB is "easier" in comparison, the patterns are more fun to me.

I'm really pissed off right now, because my PS3 refuses to connect to my wifi. I can't try running a cable directly to the modem because it's to far away. fuck

Are you using a WEP key? I have never successfully connected wirelessly with a PSP or PS3 using a WEP key. It just doesn't work for some reason.

Puma, try putting your PS3 in a demilitarized zone. Also make sure the IP of the PS3 hasn't changed. Check to make sure it is allowed to access your router.

I finally goddamn motherfucking finally got fucking Yakuza fucking 2.

I went to one Best Buy that said they had it in stock on their site. But like, I got there and didn't see it, and asked some douche if they had it in stock, and he was like "naw bro" after asking some Hindu dude with a weird-ass haircut. It's like he built a turban out of his actual hair. So I ask the guy if he can check in the computer, because these two sexual partners were clearly unsure of what the hell was gong on, and the dude's basically like "naw bro." So I left sine they were like the only people workin' in the media sections at all.

But then I went to the other Best Buy, they had the game out, and I bought it using the Fry's ad where it was $25. That was easy.

I'm glad I avoided going to Gamestop, because I don't like their policies, or their shitmonkies.

Gonna make a trip to CC tomorrow to get the other two games I wanted to get. I'm not especially looking forward to it, because CC is almost as adept at working as a group of profoundly retarded 5th graders.
 
Whoa, Mega Man 9 next week? Holy shit. I was wondering what the release date was, but I thought it was one of those things that was like... way the fuck off into the future. But I'll take next week. Actually, I'll probably wait for all the versions to get released before buying any of them. Though I'm hoping the PSN version is best, just because I don't like the 360.

And the Wii has lower-res grafx and is a toy.
